We’re super excited to be partnering with this awesome Chicago roasters to share with you the Guatemala Hueheuetenango Mam.
Guatemala produces some of the world’s most uniquely flavored coffees. Huehuetenango (pronounced way-way-te-non-go) is a city and state in the western part of the country and lies in the most rugged and remote area in Guatemala with coffee cultivated at high altitudes on very steep terrain. Thanks to the dry, hot winds that blow into the mountains from Mexico, the region is protected from frost allowing coffee to be cultivated up to 6,500 ft. All these factors effect the flavor of the cup you taste.

The aroma of this coffee is truly wonderful, maintaining the complex floral aroma prized in truly superior Guatemalans. The first few sips are warm and inviting. The acidity is rich, but not overpowering. The pleasant fruit and wine notes play out while cocoa and spice undertones push through in each finish. The brown sugar and caramel like sweetness keeps us coming back sip after sip. Finally, we note the pleasingly heavy body with a nice, buttery mouth feel.
Crisp, clean aftertaste makes for a prized pairing with desserts like strawberry pie.
