Nice smooth blend that tastes quite light but doesn't seem overly weak. Good aroma and flavor with taste of caramel coming through nicely. Both myself and my wife enjoyed it and we usually drink different types of coffee and prepare our coffee in different ways as well.

It was ok. If you drank it with something sweet, like a cookie, then it was phenomenal. You could taste the caramel and chocolate then. But if you drank it black, as we do, it was too mild for me. It started off nice but felt watery at the end.

AMAZING AND AWESOME. I generally do not like flavored coffees (the flavoring tastes fake and they bother my stomach) but this one is smooth, no funky flavor, and no stomach issues. I actually find myself excited to get up in the morning just so I can have my two cups of Day Tripper!

I really liked this coffee, it is one of my favorites so far. It was not bitter at all and the beans were a lovely brown color, not too dark or light. If I changed anything about it, I would have it be just a touch less acidic.

I did not like it at first, the coffee had a strong fragrance that made me a little dizzy. The taste was strong and I found myself adding a lot of creamers to balance the taste, overall it did grow on me, but it taste better as a cold brew or ice coffee.

Took several grind adjustments to decrease the sourness to tolerable level. (Settled on med-fine grind (32 on Breville grinder)--finest recommended setting for drip. (Maybe need to go finer?) Now it's just ok. Still a little sour, weak, and don't really like the after taste. Perhaps it's better for those who don't drink their coffee black.

After working with these beans a bit more, I’m upgrading from 3 to 4 stars (3.5 if it were an option). Like it a lot more in in moka pot and French press. Also worked pretty well as Japanese method iced coffee (Chemex + Scale loaded with ice)

Can’t imagine picking it up again, especially at the price point after shipping is taken into account. Lots of better local options. Let’s see what’s next!

It was lighter than I expected. I'm not sure if the flavor was affected by the grind. I filled out the questionnaire a few times (I still don't see any of that information on my profile) and I also indicated that I have a new French press that I now use to brew my coffee, yet the grind I received was for a drip coffee maker. :( The coffee was not terrible though.

I was able to taste some hints of dark chocolate, almost baking chocolate and lemon. It also doesn't brew an overpowering cup, it's easy to drink but also easily can come off as weak. I brewed it using a moka pot and a one gram change can make the difference between a balanced cup and a watery coffee. Still, I like that it wasn't too acidic and hard to screw up, just want something sweeter.

This was absolutely delicious. I was really impressed by how it changed with cream and creamer. Black was nice and earthy, very fresh. Plain half and half gave it a chocolatey taste, but Italian sweet cream had it tasting like caramel. My entire family was super impressed, we are very much looking forward to next months choice if this is what we start with.

Really enjoyed it! Smooth and balanced. No strong, burnt floor we try to avoid in coffee. Makes a great espresso! As long as the coffees chosen are smooth and balanced I think we'll enjoy them. No idea the difference in flavor between single origin and blends but we tend to like blends. No idea about different regions and how they affect flavor. Interested to try a variety of coffees to get a better idea of what we like.

Goodness, one of the better cups of coffee I've had in my life! The flavor was present but not overwhelming, and you could almost taste it every time you opened the bag. Brewed with OXO Brew 9 Cup Coffee Maker. We were excited to receive our first shipment and tried some the same day we received and enjoyed smoothness. Ground the beans the night before using Baratza Encore grinder for our first morning batch. It was noticeably better when we ground and then immediately brewed vs the night before, so lesson learned there for us. Our first foray into small batch roasters and so far so good.

Good starter coffee for pour over, not too much but a good way to distinguish taste between french press. Definitely stands by "any time of day" - was great for early morning and afternoon pick me ups. Made amazing cold brew - the chocolate notes really pop with a longer brew - almost pepperminty bitterness right under the dark chocolate. Great overall!

Day Tripper is a perfect reminder of a fantastic drip cup while home. It was rich with an almost smokey taste. Which makes sense, being from kentucky. From bourbon to the pits, they know their smoke. I really enjoyed it. I can't wait to splash some Buffalo Trace in it this weekend after fully enjoying it by itself this work week.

The coffee black was great, however, it didn't have that wow factor I was hoping for. It is a great everyday cup of joe. I have had a hard time dialing in this coffee on my espresso machine. It comes out very acidic as a shot then made into a cappuccino smooths out. I can’t say much about it unfortunately. If I had dialed the coffee in right I would have loved this coffee.

Great flavor, stands up well to the splash of half and half I usually drink with. Pourover was good, but the one time I brewed automatic drip it lost a lot of the more subtle notes. Haven't gotten around yet to trying chemex or french press. This is a great everyday coffee. Very smooth, easy drinking. It is not as dark/bold as the coffees I tend to favor but the flavor was still full and balanced. 1st-Wasn't impressed but Im no coffee connoisseur. I regularly have 8 o'clock coffee and DouieEgbert coffee. They are mild and sweet before adding cream or sugar. Beans smell delicious inside the bag, and when brewing. This is as important as tge taste!
2nd-Bag labeled Vanilla & Caramel. Chocolate not mentioned as it is here. This coffee, for being so fresh, didn't smell that good, almost burnt odor. I tasted no "notes" of Chocolate, caramel, or Vanilla. Not rich. I used drip method. Will try french press next. It wasn't horrible though, Ill definitely finish the bag. Too strong, perhaps, for my tastes.

Smooth and easy-to-drink, the Day Tripper Blend could easily become a daily favorite. I loved that this roast wasn't overly acidic and that the caramel notes provided a rich taste. From the moment I opened the bag and smelled the beans, I was excited to brew this roast.

It is a fine coffee. I like the malty-sweet flavors that it provides as well as the sheer drinkability of it. It tends to be very much on the sour side when brewed with a french press. It also doesn't do too well when iced and ends up tasting flat.
Overall, it's a good session coffee for study sessions or social gatherings where the coffee is not the center of attention.

My first impression was that this was somewhat non-descript. I think the level of roast could have been darker. I liked the subtle chocolatey flavor but it was very subtle. I also tried it as an espresso shot and felt it to be acidic.

A great, smooth cup of coffee that is a higher quality version of what you would call “normal” flavor. Not something I would drink black necessarily due to the lack of specific flavor since it is a blend, but held up well to a bit of half and half with sugar, and was something I enjoyed the whole morning. I’ve had it 3 times now, playing around with pour over and grind. The wife also really enjoyed it. Something like this could easily be my staple coffee, with other more exotic flavors being an occasional pleasure.

Maybe a little too mild for my tastes, but a wonderful blend! Smooth with a strong caramel taste and chocolate notes. Something I could see myself coming back to when I want a light and reliable cup, but not necessarily a coffee I would enjoy daily. At the moment I am into bolder flavors.

First impression: "uh oh...this smells like I really won't enjoy it." But, I was wrong. I have definitely enjoyed it, although I'm not super crazy about it. I can totally appreciate the blend- its very well balanced, I think the roast was fine, it just wasn't my favorite. Smoothness was good, not very bold though. Definitely not burnt, the smell is borderline sour to me which I do not like. I'm definitely going to drink every bit of it, its just not that great to my palette.

This coffee is good. I love the flavor. One thing I would change is to make it a little stronger. I have been using more coffee than I normally do. Since I only make 2 cups per day for me I will have beans left over when I get the next coffee and I'll try some blending to see what happens. I think this is going to be fun. Thanks.

By far the best coffee I've ever had, but it's only one of two that I've ground myself and the other was the Veranda blend from Starbucks that I got as a comparison. I was pleased with how much I enjoyed drinking it black but I don't feel that I can accurately review it when I have so little to compare it to.

The beans were good. They arrived the same day I left for vacation and didn’t get to try them for week. Bad planning on my part. Overall good roast, still tweaking my pour over method to yield the best cup of coffee. This being said I would like a different roast next time to develop a wider palet for coffee. Thanks!

Brewed in Keurig in a reusable filter. I did not hit STRONG and brewed about a 6 ounce cup filling to the mid-point line. At this point the coffee is a bit bland and weak and the Dunkin Donuts Whole Bean that I now drink far surpasses the taste. I will try a few cups hitting the STRONG setting to see if that helps. I am open to the process of trying coffees out and am not dissapointed. At this point I may lean towards a more full-bodied coffee if I do not enjoy the next few cups. Thanks Seth....MK

Very smooth, not bitter at all. Did not have a whole lot of deep flavor and seemed a bit light. Tasted the caramel and a bit of the chocolate. The flavor did not linger and needed to be more bold and have a bit deeper characteristics. Actually tasted a hint of raspberry. Brewed it 4 days off roast in a Chemex and got a nice bloom.
May need to be ground a bit finer to give it more body.

Loved it. But excited for whatever's next as well. I'm terrible at explaining the taste notes but I did notice the slight caramel flavor. I drink it black and with no sugar because I don't like it too sweet, for future reference. This was a great cup of coffee though!

It's a fine coffee and I like the roast level, but it's a touch "plain" to me. I don't find it very "rich" (but that's okay) or chocolatey but more "flat". Very drinkable but not particularly noteworthy.

I'm not sure that I received this precise coffee. The bag is white, not black as featured above, and the notes say Day Tripper Blend, caramel and vanilla, not chocolate. The coffee wasn't't quite as rich and robust as I like and had an odd acidic aftertaste.

I think this was too lightly roasted for my tastes. I made this in a french press with about 29 grams of to ~500 grams of water, around 1:17, with 205 degree water for 4.5 minutes. It wasn't bad, but to me it tasted more floral and spicy than chocolate or caramel. It's definitely a good general coffee, but not my favorite. It didn't have those good roasty, smokey flavors.

Tags are Chocolate and Caramel, but I don't think I could really taste it. The taste also varied greatly because of the french press (different cups tasting differently after pour), I would probably prefer a stronger coffee (unless it's the blend technique).

I enjoyed this coffee more than I thought I would when I first opened the bag! At first glimpse, I thought it would be much to light for my tastes. I typically like a little darker roast but was happy with this one. I enjoyed the smoothness and drinkability of this coffee I found that when I brewed it with an Aeropress It had a slightly sour taste that I didn't care for. But when brewed with my drip machine that was still there but much more subtle and I didn't mind it. I drank this coffee wanting more from it. Although it was an easy drinking coffee I wanted more complexity.

The coffee beans had a great aromas of sweet vanilla, earthy nuts, and caramel, which surprisingly changed, once hand ground. The coffee was brewed in a Chemex drip and was a solid everyday coffee. The coffee had low acidity, which I like, smooth finish, and was one of my first medium roasts in a while which I enjoyed. I do like a little more complexity to my coffee and the coffee lost a lot of it's aroma once brewed which was a bummer as it was so amazing. In the end, great everyday coffee and the beans danced on my nose, but I want a little more flavor in my cup. Keep up the great work!

This was a great first coffee to start with. It had a smooth body and a semi-sweet aftertaste. I could smell the bitterness of the chocolate in the grounds, but the taste did not carry over once it was brewed. The initial sip was full-bodied, but not overpowering. First impression was that the rich aroma was great and the flavor could have been richer but it may be how I brewed it. I ground up the beans with a blade grinder and then did a drip pour over through a metal filter. Roast level was good, I think I would like just a bit higher of a roast level but this was very good. I very much enjoyed the little bit of spice to the taste of the coffee and I'm hoping to have a little nut taste to future blends that you send. Overall it's a great one to start with and it's got such great distinct taste going from K cups to whole roasted fresh coffee beans!

I thought the roast level was pretty good, not too dark but it still had all the nice flavors that I enjoy in coffee. I'm not sure but I think the characteristic was balanced? It felt very drinkable/approachable. I liked all the flavors I got from the coffee.

It’s good coffee. When it comes to reviews I’m not sure I want to dive deep enough to be able to articulate tasting notes. I can’t say there was anything about it that I didn’t like. I joined this to try different coffees. I like all kinds so I’m hoping whatever is sent to me next is different. Prefer nothing chocolaty this time even though this coffee is enjoyable.

Good Coffee and I could drink it on regular basis, but it wouldn't move me off of my Intelligentsia house blend. It was solid, but it didn't wow me. I am only 2-3 cups in, and I have only drank it early in the morning. Tomorrow (Saturday) will be my real test. I could probably provide better detailed notes of what I liked and didn't after that.

This is a very straightforward cup of coffee, and I have enjoyed it a lot. The chocolate and caramel notes blend in a very smooth way to produce a solid roast. In some ways, it almost tastes like a salted caramel mocha as a coffee itself.
Personally, nothing stood out super strong about the coffee, but it makes for a strong daily coffee.

Hi there! I've only had one brew of this so far, so things might change over the week. That said, I thought it was pretty solid and I liked the roast level. The most significant bit of feedback I would have is that, while good, it wasn't really that notable. It might just be due to the balanced nature of the blend, but I wouldn't say there was a pronounced flavor or characteristic. The description says "simple and straightforward" and I think that's totally on point. I just wanted a liiiitle more substance. So definitely enjoyable, but I probably wouldn't seek it out as a must have. Updating to 3 stars since it was less than the Metric and Klatch that we've received since.

Good quality beans that produced a very smooth cup. I thought overall this blend was good, but it leans a little more dark than I prefer. I wasn't ever really able to detect the chocolate or caramel notes, but I did get a sense of the richness in comparison to other roasts I've had.

Great Coffee. I have brewed it 3 times now and it has been a little tricky to me but I would attribute that to the less than accurate brewing methods I have when out to sea. I get a lot of the vanilla and chocolate, but I think the caramel note keeps coming out a little sour for me. Still adjusting what I can to fix it.

Coffee subscriptions are new to me, but I thought this was a great blend to introduce me to the subscription with! For me, I liked how I could taste flavors in the coffee that were both bright and toasty at the same time. It also consistently had a wonderful aroma when brewed.

This coffee makes a great cup. It's very drinkable and I can see anybody who likes coffee liking the Day Tripper Blend. The blend of the different regions is well balanced with solid flavors. We loved drinking this coffee black, no cream needed. It is a well balanced cup, not terribly complex but we would buy it if we saw it at the store. Thanks for sharing!

Good coffee which grew on me and enjoyed the most with my mocha pot. In the french press the flavors were a bit dull or watered down. Overall I thought it was a very drinkable blend but nothing special or notable about the notes or aroma. Good baseline without nuance.

This is solid coffee with really smooth flavor. But frankly, it was a little underwhelming. Profile is right down the middle in pretty much all aspects, which is probably why it's perfectly described as "intended to appeal to a wide audience." Ideal to keep around for when the in-laws stay over or you otherwise need to make coffee for people who just want a balanced coffee, or who otherwise would only notice anything about their coffee if it was "bad".
I'm definitely all about "rich" flavors (as opposed to floral or fruity), such as the chocolate and caramel found here, but also things like toffee, graham cracker, oak, nuttiness, sweet tobacco, etc. I like how smooth and easy to drink this coffee is, but would love if it had a little more distinct flavor.

When I first read the description of what the coffee flavors were I was concerned because I generally do not care for flavored coffees. However, the Coffee tasted better than I thought it would since the flavors are very subtle.

We enjoyed this blend overall, although at first blush with an aeropress brewing method, it seemed plain and light. Once we used our Kalita everything improved and we were more able to enjoy the fuller complexity of the roast--and it was much more balanced. It was a bit darker than we expected and I think once we've tried more single origin coffees, this would be one to revisit.

A very smooth and delicate coffee. I brewed this using a Chemex so some of the "richness" may have been caught in the paper filter causing it to have a more gentle flavore. Also, I would say this coffee trends more on the side of light/medium roast (as you can see even in the color of the bean) as a little bit of brightness still come through in a tasting. Which I don't prefer. I look for more of the smoky depth of a slightly darker roast. But all in all, a very good coffee. I would mostly recommend this coffee for people who are trying to move towards drinking their coffee black.

So, this coffee surprised me. I am usually drawn to citrus and floral notes but this blend is delicious. It is easy to brew in our french press. The beans were lighter than I expected for the flavor. I think this was a bit too strong as espresso for my taste but as an americano it was much more tolerable. It smells so good when grinding and brewing. Loved it with my french press.

Really enjoyed this blended roast. Smooth, rich flavors on the backend with low acidity. However, it was thin with light flavors on the front end. Still, a very good roast. Definitely recommend. :)

I'm not typically a blend drinker but enjoyed this one. It was really nice as an espresso and worked really well with my auto drip. When i received it, it was a tad stale tasting but not horrible. Still held up nicely to the end of the bag.

I liked this blend just fine, but I didn't find it a particularly memorable one. I could taste the chocolate notes-- which were even more apparent when paired with a piece of chocolate-- but I didn't pick up on the caramel notes.

I liked this coffee overall. I wasn't too blown away by anything about it, but it was definitely a solid cup. I picked up on some dark chocolate/toffee/almond-y kind of taste which I did enjoy too. Reviewers commented on sweetness and a caramel taste but I did not pick up on any of that. I typically enjoy Papua New Guinea single origins and this was somewhat reminiscent of that, which makes sense

Really enjoyed this coffee. Very drinkable. Could definitely recognize the caramel flavors. Next time, it would be great to try a single origin coffee that is a bit more robust.

Hey I drink coffee at home mostly as espresso drinks. On the surface this is a blend that might work well given the blend. However, I tried different of extractions (ristretto and lungo) but could never find a great flavor extraction with this blend. Now, as a pour over I can find all the caramel, and chocolate notes. So, I recommend using a Chemex or your favorite pour-over device. (as espresso 2 stars, but as pour-over 4 stars)

I liked the smoothness of this blend, and it had a wonderful aroma. I found the flavor to be fairly weak, though, especially compared to what I was expecting based on the description.

Very smooth flavor with a good aroma, low acidity and light, easy to drink. I felt it wasn't too sweet or bitter, good starting off coffee. If I had to give a negative to build off of I would say it was a little to mellow for me, I like a bolder flavor coffee, or at least that is what I am used to, I still want to try everything before I start to make decisions on what I like, I'm trying to start this adventure with a clean slate.

I really enjoyed the smoothness of this. I typically use a flavored creamer but when i decided to try this with just sugar I was pleasantly surprised. To me it almost seemed a little smokey. I look forward to the next shipment!

Thick and creamy to your pallet, smooth as silk i pull 21g with no sugar added it is superb you just want more and more. Just as the notes describe the taste, quite delicious.

It was sweet and delicious and smelled amazing as it was brewing. I think I'm going to try to mix it with soy instead of almond milk next time. I tasted more chocolate than caramel in this blend, which is good.

3.5 stars. This is a very pleasant cup made me think of diner coffee at its best. I did find it lacking in refinement (maybe due to being a blend) and complexity. Absolutely nothing wrong with it, but didn't really impress me much either.

I liked the flavor overall but it was a little too bright for me. My favorites are usually dark, smooth, rich, and a little less fruity. This was good in my French press, but not as good in my drip coffee maker.

I definitely taste the chocolate! This is a nice, balanced coffee. Helped me to wait for it to cool down a bit in order to taste some of those other flavors mentioned in the description.

It was a little more straightfoward, sweeter blend. The most forward flavor I tasted was a little bit of caramel and vanilla. I like it for desserts and a 'sunday afternoon' kinda day. I definitely enjoy it, but it wouldn't be my go to blend for every morning

It was pretty good. Since I usually make a latte with aero press, the taste isn't evident. I was happy that it wasn't smoky! For some reason, it left a dry and bitter after taste AFTER the drink was finished.

overall a very good coffee. The prevalent taste/aroma is caramel, with notes of vanilla. I don't get much chocolate. I don't adore caramel, so I would be interested in other blends in which caramel doesn't take center stage.

Used 1.5 Tablespoons per cup in order to do a full-flavor test. It was outstanding! The description is very accurate - chocolate/caramel with a hint of vanilla (to me).

My first couple of cups from this were experiments with my new AeroPress - the first being far too weak and the second being far too strong. Once I got it right, though, I found this coffee to pair well with ice creams and other desserts, as it meets the advertised richness well. I used the remaining few ounces in my OXO Cold Brewer and made 8oz of cold brew concentrate, which has worked well as a basis for pseudo-lattes.

Holy cow this stuff is fantastic. The roast is not oily dark, allowing the simple flavors of the beans to shine through. At the same time, the roast is dark enough to provide richness and full body. I tend to like coffees that are richer and fuller-bodied still than this, but this coffee has the advantage of bringing much more flavor and nuance due to the roasting.

This is a tasty coffee but I have been drinking dark roasts for a while and am probably used to a more robust cup. I do NOT care for Italian or French roasts, so not that dark. Chocolate and caramel are favorite flavors, but maybe a darker roast version, and nutty?? My three stars may change as I go through the bag. This is my initial response.

Sweet and floral, notes of magnolia and brown sugar, muted chocolate finish - smooth and round overall, not much acidity. Easy to enjoy, but not intended for someone who prefers a rich roast. I didn't taste the caramel but would like to try something like this but darker.

Really enjoyed the "caramel notes" - and a hint of nuttiness from the freshly ground husks found in the grind (those that didn't succumb to the static, clinging to my grinder's drop-down box, that is). A very nice, lighter roast. Would have appreciated more than six ounces though.

These weren't flavors that i preferred in my cup...Ive not been a huge fan of blends in the past and unfortunately this one sat in the same place for me! Not a terrible cup but I wouldn't buy it.

I made this twice. First time was too weak, second time was stronger but still dumped both pots. Neither my husband or myself thought it tasted any different than a poor brew you would get at a cheap restaurant.

Nicely balanced and flavored. I was afraid it would be a bold dark roast from the beans but it was surprisingly mellow when brewed. Kind of a classic flavor.

Beautiful roast! Right when I opened the bag I started thinking of homemade caramels or toffee of some sort. Very sweet cup and giant flavor for first thing in the morning. As my first order and first cup. I'm already excited to see what else this subscription will throw my way.

It was good, rich wasn't quite as tasty as the Anodyne Coffee "Hondoras Marcala", I really liked the citrus-y, orange scent and taste. Would really like to try another more fruit forward coffee, perhaps some Ethiopian beans from a roaster you'd recommend!

I get much more of a brightness than a rich, caramel, chocolatey taste in this coffee. It's OK...but tastes a bit bitter. I'm a bit disappointed in the first coffee to arrive from Mistobox. I brewed this in my Chemex. Hopefully now that I've updated my preferences I'll get something that suits my tastes a bit more.

This was a lighter bean than I usually get from my local roaster, but part of what I love about Mistobox is the variety and getting me out of my normal coffee routine. I get a very slight sour flavor that gives it some brightness that I enjoyed, and it's not bitter at all. My usual cup is a bit bolder than this, but I enjoyed the change.

This blend is lighter than I typically prefer, but it is outstanding. It is exceptionally unoffensive, and while it might not blow you away, it's both light and flavorful, making it appealing to a wide audience.

Not a bad bean at all, just a bit more mild than I was hoping for. It had smooth/mellow caramel and light chocolate notes, with a slightly apricot aroma on the ground beans. A touch of the apricot flavor in the beginning of the taste before it fades into chocolate and caramel. If I could give it a 3.5 I would.
