Most recent shipment wasn't as good as the previous batch. There were marked vegetal/tomato notes in the shots that I was surprised by, as I usually find those in African coffees.

It was a bit decadent for my tastes. I did not realize the chocolate was "chocolate cake" until I received it. I prefer more of cocoa chocolate. Unfortunately, it reminded me a bit of QT's coffee. Not really a fan.

Loved it! It is about as dark as I like to go, but the flavor profile is amazing. Great for a Chemex pour over brew.

This was my first coffee delivery, and it's everything they said -- chocolatey, caramel-y and rich, but not too dark tasting = perfect for me. It arrived at the perfect time, too, just when I finally figured out how to master a cup of Chemex!

Incredibly flavorful as double espresso. Rich and creamy chocolate and is a favorite after the first two pulls. The stated tasting notes are spot-on.

These beans had a horrible smell. Taste was smooth, but not a great flavor. My wife and I did not taste the notes described on the package at all.

Maybe I haven’t dialed the brew method in yet for my pour over but I am not getting much balance. It is a lot of bitter/burnt up front without room for the tasting notes. Will keep tweaking my pour over method for this to see if I can’t get it balanced.

I didn't get any tobacco finish, for which I am grateful. Definitely chocolatey, burnt sugar flavors, which I love so much. Fantastic coffee.

Nice medium-dark roast. Wasn’t able to get a great cup each time, but when it was right, it had good chocolate flavors and a bit of sweetness that matched the caramel description. A bit of ashiness at the end was also present. So if that sounds nice to you, I recommend playing around with the brewing conditions until it gets all three.

I love the smell and freshness of the bean although I'm not getting much flavor out of the brew. The coffee feeling is smooth and clean. Too dark of a roast for me

Really solid and low-acid. Definitely unique and memorable, if a bit more charcoally than I usually love. But I love a variety, too, so no complaints there.

I received it today and right away made an espresso with my stove-top Bialetti. It was delicious. However, I do prefer it a little less bitter. I enjoyed the rest of it's qualities. Thank you

I'm not a dark roast fan, but this was better than expected--it's complex and burnt-tasting. It would make a better espresso than a filter coffee (I usually brew with a Chemex). I wouldn't order it again, though.

I really enjoyed this coffee! Maybe a tad too bitter? A slightly lighter roast might be nice but this was very enjoyable.

Really enjoyed this coffee flavor! Wish I had more. It does tend to “cake” onto my manual grinder. Makes it a bit messier clean up. If you brush the grinder over the trash can, it's much easier

I'm usually not as much of a fan of dark roasts, but this was good. It was not as bitter as other dark roasts that I have had, which was good.

The depth and complexity of the coffee was excellent, with all the notes indicated. Not acidic or sour. The beans came looking very dry compared to our usual beans, but it clearly wasn't a bad thing.

I love it when a coffee tastes good even as it cools. To my tastebuds, this coffee developed a sour taste when cool. This coffee, however, is passable when hot and with heavy cream. I find myself avoiding it other than to use what I have.

I am making espresso and still having a hard time dialing it in. I fetlt this wasnt as full bodied and more bitter than i was hoping. Didnt taste any of the caramel notes

This coffee smelled so good ground, and the description was right up my alley. However, despite different grinds and changing variables, it always came out a bit on the sour side. Blueberry notes. Still looking for a little less acidity, more boldness. Flavor profile for the next pick looks promising!

I enjoyed the smoothness and rich, deep flavor of this coffee. I always add honey and creamer to my cup and sometimes the result is less than pleasant, if the coffee is too fruity or acidic it makes for an unpleasant combination. But that was not the case with this coffee. More coffees like this please!

Love rich body for those who appreciate a darker roast (but not too dark). I'd say the tasting notes are quite accurate - dark sugars, caramels and slight tobacco/pipe finish, but not too strong there. Great coffee and takes milk/cream well too.

Good but not great for my taste. Using aeropress for my daily brew, and this one is more acidic than I prefer. Most off the other beans of late have been great - rich, sweet, round.
