This is the Civitas Blend brought to you by Huckleberry Roasters. Huckleberry's Civitas Blend is meant for the fan of a full-bodied coffee featuring notes of dark sugars, chocolate, molasses, toffee, and toasted nuts.
The blend of the 3 listed flavors were my favorite I have received to date.
One of the better dessert coffees I've had, great in cocktails too
Loved this for our espresso
The right balance, rich and tasty without tasting bitter tasting.
This has been my favorite so far! Love the nutty toffee flavor.
Nice everyday coffee
Was on the rich side but wasn't to bad liked it overall
Love the light roast
Couldn't resolve the featuring notes (usually, I can). Tried different concentrations (pour over), but couldn't bring them out. It was smooth. Works well as espresso, though.
One of our favorites!
This was delicious & we loved it! From the get-go, the beans smelled amazing & the coffee brewed was so flavorful! Our favorite we have tried from the subscription so far!
Rich, toasted, strong coffee taste. Love it!
Didn't stand up too well with milk.
somewhere between boring and burnt
I found this borderline undrinkable.
Tastes stale and slightly burnt
This one may be my favorite, along with the Milwaukee Rock Star blend.
I've like other Huckleberry blends but mostly I'm not really a fan of the darker roasts and this is not an exception. It was ok, but not really my jam.
A little dark. Smokier than I like.
Our favorite so far. It tasted like a warm hug
Didnt taste the featured notes-
This was okay, not one of the greatest but also not the worst.
This was an excellent choice. Full-bodied and rich. Made for great espresso.
Our favorite so far
Wow! Delicious and full bodied, dark chocolate undertone with slight acidity, very little sweetness.
(I think I initially reviewed the wrong one, and this is the one I meant to review.) I loved this one! It tasted very well-balanced. I still liked it at different times of day and with or without food, and usually that has a big effect for me on whether or not coffee tastes good. Please keep this one in the rotation!
A little bitter
Didn't care much for this. Tasted pretty dark and almost burnt. No real depth of flavor.
Brewed in the Ratio 8 coffee maker. 55g beans, medium grind (24/40 - Baratza Encore). 1.2L of water.
This tasted a bit too bitter and smokey for my taste
Even though it's a darker roast, it has the delicate complexity of a lighter roast. Very nice latte bean.
Thought the flavor fell a bit flat. Not too interesting.
I have had a subscription to Mistobox for two years and this is the only coffee I have thrown away because I disliked it so much. I found it too thin and insubstantive but also really bitter.
Tasty but bag arrived ripped, with a significant portion of the grounds in the mailing bag. Enjoying what’s left!
A very good blend. Mild flavor, nothing exciting, but overall balanced and a nice cup of coffee
Was good as drip coffee
Really good cup. Works in iced or poar over
Delicious aroma, but not as rich as I expected. Second cup is better!
Kind of dark for my tastes as a daily coffee. Maybe gear towards medium to medium-light.
Very good, but too nutty!
Slightly bitter, not as full or rounded. Chalky, stale nut flavor.
Weird flavor, and a burnt after taste. I like dark roasts but this one is not good.
too dark for me
Really enjoyed this coffee
This was not to my taste at all. Tasted very medium and flat to me. I use a Moccamaster drip. I don't want to receive this one again.
Good coffee, dark bit single noted and looking for more depth
Pretty good for a less dark roast. Looking for more of a toasty stronger flavor.
tastes alot like folgers. not impressed at all.
Pretty much exactly what I'm looking for in an espresso bean. Full bodied with chocolate notes without tasting burnt.
Our favorite so far
Just OK, no robust enough for me.
I like the smoothness. This is a good everyday coffee.
I haven't written a review in a while, but just wanted to say that these selections are most always spot on. Thanks. I love these rich chocolaty, nutty type flavors, without any smokiness. They are perfect for espresso drinks with and without milk.
Love Huckleberry Coffee. So flavorful.
Amazing! Great espresso flavor, very smooth. Would definitely get again
Smooth but not very interesting
Not for me
Enjoyed the toasted nut flavor
Not terrible but an unwelcome acidity
85g coarse grind in a 4 pint mason jar, cold brewed for 20 hours.
Yummy black over ice. I can really taste the chocolate notes. Perhaps a tad darker than I prefer, but like it.
Upset my wife and my stomach.
Love the chocolate and nutty flavors!
Very smooth and pretty low acidity. Chocolate notes definitely come through the strongest. I made this with my chemex. Very good and well rounded cup of coffee.
Dana & AJ
Love it - nice lighter dark roast.
Awesome, full bodied flavor, really want this back in my queue
one of my favs
A solid and rich blend. Good but didn't blow me away.
Really balanced and flavorful. My current favorite!
Excellent. One of my favorites so far.
Really enjoy this coffee. It's not overly strong or bitter and is well balanced. I enjoy the molasses and chocolate notes.
Coffee was good but I prefer a darker roast.
Too dark for me. Cool packaging though.
Nice but nothing remarkable. Easy drinking but not the thing we ever reached for first. Very versatile for brewing methods.
Not very deep flavor. Just ok.
Very goo. Was perfect for around the holidays. Very drinkable.
Really loved this one - chocolatey and nutty and toasty and roasty and smooth
Didn’t work well with our espresso machine. It remained sour no matter how we adjusted the grind settings.
Fine, nothing notable. Kind of acidic.
one of our favorites. Rich and smooth
Seems to have a bitter taste. A long way from my favorite,
Love it! Smooth, balanced and super flavorful. Tasting notes very acutely described.
I brew with Moccamaster drip coffee. Immediately smacked with the notes of chocolate/nuttiness' described from the bag. Smells absolutely amazing and tastes the same. It's my first bag from Misto but a great way to start. Next will be something of the opposite descriptors to calibrate what I like. Description is exactly right: Chocolate, Dark Sugars, etc.
Love this brand!!
I am a fan of their Blue Orchid Blend and wanted to try a darker roast. This was also good and made a nice latte.
As someone who normally likes a light-med dark roast, I thought upon my first sip that this was too dark. Further sipping revealed that this was the equivalent to about 65% dark chocolate and one to sip and savour rather than chug. JUST the right side of it being “too dark”. Lovely, full bodied, vibrant, smooth, complex enough to keep you coming back.
This coffee is drinkable but unremarkable
Loved this one! would love to get more like this.
This was one of the best coffees I've ever had. I would definitely buy it again. You could taste the chocolate notes and it was such a smooth taste. Yum
didnt like this one
I thought this had a distinctly smoky taste. Not crazy about it. Nice and creamy though.
Was hoping for much more based on the description. Found this to be really bitter.
This had been out favorite coffee to date! The rich, bold flavor makes for a perfect cup every time.
Excellent rich flavor
Killer coffee for espresso, wish there were more offered from this roaster!
Smooth and delicious. Excellent tasting notes.
I have never received a bad bag from Huckleberry Roasters.
One of my favorites so far.
A little bitter otherwise good flavors
Not very flavorful. Weak taste and seemingly bland.
one of my favorite coffees ever
Tried multiple brew methods, including espresso, pour over and aeropress and just could not get the flavor right. Was either too bitter or too earthy for my taste. This is one of the few coffees that I have been unable to find the right taste by experimenting with multiple brew methods, I do not know what I did wrong here.
nice bold flavor. Smooth.
Too citrus for my taste.
Very, very good. Went and bought some more!
Smooth and not too full bodied.
I was very pleased with my first cup today. I am looking forward to making my signature coffees with this blend. The dark sugars gave a Cuban Espresso flavor. the Chocolate and toffee taste is temping me to make a Summer Cappuccino with peach syrup in the froth. The overall nuttiness should hold up well to my macadamia nut syrup milk for an exotic latte.
After trying various grind settings on coffee grinder to make it more fine/coarse, thus far, none of the brews have really come out making this a must-have cup of coffee. Perhaps this has more sweetness than I prefer?
