The Anodyne House Blend was carefully roasted for you by Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co. Anodyne House Blend is an expertly crafted blend of coffees from South and Central America. Its smooth, rich and creamy body is complemented by nutty and dark chocolate tones that are sure to please.
Good flavor, but a bit too acidic for my taste. I Like the almost cinnamon-y notes.
I liked it quite a bit. Smelled nice and tasted a little stronger than the others, but still good to me.
A bit bland.
Curtis & Niekoo
It was good but very mild in flavor. Smooth and easy to drink. My wife could drink it black no issue at all.
Pretty decent, seemed finicky and couldn't get consistently good cups from it
Adopted my brewing to follow Mistobox recommendations. Mostly this required using more beans. The impact on flavor was positive. This was very nice coffee.
This coffee was a little flat overall. I was looking for something more complex. It was good but not great. I appreciated the lightness of the coffee. It was almost creamy.
Smooth, mild coffee. Liked this one best out of this shipment
Solid selection that could be enjoyed everyday of the week.
Good. Maybe a little darker
It was a nice light roast blend. My only complaint is that I usually prefer single origin coffees for their distinct flavors and blends seem to lack these.
Slightly too acidic when brewed in my Saeco espresso machine, not as full-bodied as I'd like
Tasted good , similar to coffee #1.
A little light.
Smooth. Subtle coffee flavor that gently wakes up without taking a bite out of you.
This is garbage. Bag was unsealed and the beans were half roasted. What was roasted already oxidized.
My favorite so far!
While the overall taste was nice it was not bold or strong enough.
Too dark of a roast. Not enough subtlety to the coffee. Not as fruity or as bright as I would like.
This one I liked because it did have a chocolately taste to it. I usually will look for that when picking out coffee.
Pretty good, still using it, got two in freezer. I only make coffee at home a few times a week and only a few cups each time. I changed the delivery rate from once every 30 days to once every 45 days, that's better for me.
Terrible. I asked for dark roast espresso with a preference for Arabica and no South American. Do you even listen?
Of the first 2 coffees, we liked the Anodyne best. Smooth with no aftertaste.
The other blend was good, but seemed slightly bitter. Not bad, but less pleasing than the Anodyne
Nice, comfortable taste.
We found it overly acidic and winey, like we do all Third Wave coffee. This is why we have sent you numerous notes asking you to confirm that our preferred roast range is FULL CITY to VIENNA. Please confirm!
This was decent coffee. I make pretty strong coffee, but this somehow still tasted a little weak. The description sounds like my perfect coffee, but to me it had a little bit of a citrus note instead of the deep earthy, nutty, and chocolate flavors I usually prefer. Still good. Just not amazing.
A good cup, but rather bland and plain. If you want dependable and easy this is it.
I loved the richness and flavor
Reasonable taste and strength. Second cup held its flavor.
It was too weak to use as coffee for a French Press, but held up very nicely as an espresso.
This coffee had an excellent full-bodied flavor. We are still perfecting the pour over but it worked well and matched your tasting notes.
I so very much enjoy this one as well. Frequency blend is the best I've in some time.
Very smooth, but perhaps a bit too nutty. Overall very nice!
This was mild and mellow. I brewed with a french press but may have ground the beans to coarsely (i.e. I made kind of a weak cup).
I have since ground the beans finer for use in a drip machine, and figure this will be a solid medium bodied morning cup.
I like it however I would rather have single origin coffee because that is what I want when I purchase coffee.
Awful, awful coffee.
Not "nutty", NOT 'chocolate', and certainly not 'rich'. Actually tasted weak, thin, bitter (in a bad way), roasted so lightly that it tasted raw. Probably one of the worst cups of coffee I have ever had
Tasted mostly a brown sugar which I enjoy but maybe go with something a little darker possibly with mocha flavor.
this was pretty good.
I did not care for that coffee . In my profile I said I preferred a very dark roast .
The second cup was better than the first. I didn't care for the finish at first, but got used to it and now I think it's a pretty good coffee.
It's definitely a smooth cup, but I couldn't taste any particular flavor. I'm looking for something with a touch of an almond-like flavor.
Not great—maybe a step up from Foldgers. Beans are light brown, a lot of acid. Almost undrinkabke for my tastes. Why send light roast when I specifically note dark roast as my preference?
While not a terribly complex cup of coffee, I found brewing this with a French press made for extremely pleasant start to my morning. It was smooth and creamy, with definite caramel and chocolate flavors.
a little light, but ok
Great balance, smooth texture, and easy to drink.
This is good coffee, smooth with an interesting flavor. However, I probably would prefer somewhat darker roasts. Not a full dark roast, but somewhere between this roast and a full dark roast
I thought the roast was pretty good. I liked the flavor, but I wish it was more flavorful.
Lacks character, but smooth and easy to enjoy.
good flavor, just not bold enough
Mellow and flavorful. A medium blend with lots of light color. Toasted rather than roasted
Bright, aromatic, fairly acidic. Not my style.
It was too mild for me
Using my normal ratio of beans to water, it just tastes like warm water. Too light for me
Smelled better than it tasted. Not strong enough. I’m used to cafe du monde. I wish I didn’t have to grind myself, but I guess I know why
The coffee is stale
I was apprehensive that this would be more of a dark-like flavor profile because the description said "nutty" and "chocolate" tones. This coffee, however, was a pleasant surprise! It was smooth and creamy and I didn't get any of the rich/dark tones :)
wouldn't want again
Flavor wise its good but I thought as a medium roast it was lacking a little.
Not a fan of this one. I prefer dark roast coffee. Found this to lack taste.
It is okay, not my favorite but I can drink it. A little sour.
I tasted the chocolate flavor of this coffee. I did find it smooth tasting as well.
Coffee didn’t taste as fresh as I was expecting and came in an open bag. Not sure if that was the intent. It still had some of the dark chocolate and nutty tones.
After my disappointment with Intelligentsia, I will not brew this. The beans are tan, not dark, too much like the former.

I loved it.
Seems too light of a roast and too fruity acidic tasting for me. Tried brewing with an aeropress with 2 different grinds and temperatures and with a French press. Didn’t even finish the cup. I really like nutty and smooth coffee but I didn’t taste it in these beans.
9/10. Delicate flavor. Very nutty on the front end. Goes down smooth and leaves mouth feeling clean. Chocolate tones and creamy mouth feel make it feel like I'm eating a piece of chocolate candy. Sweet pleasant aroma. Could be a little more acidic or add a little spice. Could be the way I brewed (Chemex), but it almost seems to sweet.
Loved the citrus notes
I’m brewing v60. First brew I really enjoyed this one! But I feel like the after taste is too sour and acidic.
Very weak and watery compared to what I usually drink
not strong enough
On the weak side of flavor. Probably the third coffee from Anodyne that seems to take more work, and more coffee to enjoy.
Not too shabby - smooth on a Kalita. Lacked a bloom but a muted taste that was more on the smooth side vs any other outstanding characteristics. Hoping for more of a fruit bomb in my next batch.
II like the flavor and the smoothness of the coffee. I'm used to bolder blends (French Roast is my favorite),
This wasn't my favorite. I didn't dislike it, but nothing special .
Has the brighter color and Taste that I tend to not like as much. I do enjoy just not my fav styl
I liked the flavor of this one- it was very smooth.
Seemed like the coffee was roasted a good while before I got it. Flavor was dull at best
This is undrinkable. I never want anything like this again.
loved this one
Ravi & Courtney
Good flavor, but a bit too acidic for us (maybe just our fault in how we brewed it)
It is a little too acidic
Looking to get darker roasts at this point...I tend to like the flavor on these nutty roasts, but want darker!
Lovely and balanced.
there wasn't enough going on.
It's fairly bitter which is nice, but I think it is much lighter than advertised. Like others have said, it's a weak cup of coffee.
Fine for a blend, but not my style
I liked this one a lot! I brewed it with a Chemex and it seemed a little lighter than my typical coffee, but the flavor was delicious.
Pretty good flavor. Found I enjoyed it more when I added a little more grinds to the pot than normally suggested. It seemed to bring out a richer flavor
Loved this choice.
Preferred the Anodyne Atomic over the House Blend, I think.
smooth coffee with no bitter aftertaste.
Smooth and delicious!
Very smooth, distinctively nutty flavor. It made a wonderful cup of joe for a chilly Sunday morning, smooth and easy to drink.
Seemed old, very dry appearance, resulted in a weak cup of coffee.
Too light for me
I felt like this blend was more bitter than I like.
Howard and Gloria
Pretty good but I prefer a bit stronger blend.
Loved the nuttiness and chocolate notes
I enjoyed the "dark"/chocolate and nutty flavors, especially when made as espresso or pourover
I liked this one a lot, I could definitely taste the nutty, chocolate notes.
Not memorable at all. Much weaker than the tasting notes described.
Enjoyed the creaminess . A bit to light for my taste
this coffee was not dark at all.
This coffee was quite good. Slightly more Roasted than I usually enjoy but not overdone. The flavor profile was good for the most part, a bit smoky and earthy with a nice chocolate note and good body. Much improved with milk.
Little too rich for my liking.
I like a darker roast
This was a classic coffee. Not spectacular but very good with just about any brew method.
We liked the chocolate sweet flavors a lot. We ended up making this in the aeropress and it was great. Wouldn't mind a slightly darker roast but this was good!
I particularly like how smooth this coffee tastes.
Was pleasantly surprised with this coffee this morning. After (purposely ) getting fruitier coffees lately, it was nice to have a contrast with this nutty, creamy, and chocolatey blend!
Not robust enough
A little too balanced, no outstanding flavors
Way too light, completely lacking in oils or body. flavor ok
Good flavor, but felt it could have had a bolder taste.
Michael and Olivia
Lovely, nutty, round with mild earthiness.
Loved this coffee! Made it in my bialetti Moka and it came out great
Very strong chocolatey flavors. Good, but I usually go for brighter notes
Just not what I like. Too mild for my taste.
Had a bit of a sour finish - prefer mine to be a bit more bitter.
smooth. Good balance of dark flavors but overly earthy for me.
Not a dark roast or anything I like.
To nutty tasting. Not dark enough
Good quality coffee but I prefer a bolder flavor and darker roast.
Too bland for me
Bob and Cindy
It was good.
Mary and Jim
Liked the rich and more complex taste of this blend as compared to the other.
I enjoyed the flavors. Very nice coffee. I hope my next shipment is a step darker, though.
Not strong enough. The chocolate notes don't really come through.
A little bright for my taste, I prefer darker generally
Tom and John
Fred and Linda
Too weak for our taste
Nicely balanced. Prefer a dark oilier coffee with more body.
I did not like this very much. The fresh aroma of coffee was not there when I opened the bag. If it helps, I love Philz (Tessora) coffee and Pete's (House blend) coffee.
The taste was nice, though it was a lighter cofffee than I like. I use an espresso machine to make lattes and I like my coffee beans to be dark.
Just average , wished it was stronger and bolder
I enjoyed this coffee. Much better than the Intelligentsia Frequency Blend. Nice rich flavor.
Good taste but a little too subtle. I generally prefer my coffee to be a bit stronger.
Was fine, better than the coffee I usually drink, but I liked the intelligentsia better. Will add more helpful flavor stuff later.
Not freshly roasted. Too dark.
This was good. Maybe a little too smooth / creamy? I think I might want to go darker next time.
Pat and Christina
It's okay. It has a pure taste but a little boring.
Very smooth. Perfect body. Good flavor very bold, dark and rich.
Unremarkable. Similar to first one, but first was better.
Coffee had a good taste but was not impressed with the addition of chickery, like my coffee with just coffee beans
Definitely liked this coffee (better than the other one). Believe I like the somewhat darker blend. Definitely liked the dark chocolates tones better than milk chocolate.
Has a nice earthy nutty aroma when brewed. Great smooth creamy flavor.
Not robust enough for me.
very mild but also smooth. Good coffee but not ideal for espresso
Very smooth and nutty flavor, enjoyed it a lot.
This coffee did not bloom when brewed, I'm worried it's past peak freshness. Coffee was best brewed in Chemex pour-over. Noticed cardboard aromas and harsh chocolate flavor.
I thought I was going to love this. But it was a little too earthy tasting for me. And not so interesting.
Kevin and Grace
Loved this one!
Actually liked it a lot. On track with what I like!
I thought this was a nice coffee, however it was a bit too nutty for my liking.
Usually, I drink a commercial coffee, that is considered to be a dark roast. Examples would be, Starbucks Sumatra, Peet's Major Dickerson, and Community Coffee Dark Roast.
Compared to the examples, the Anodyne, tasted watery, with a hint of milk chocolate. I did not enjoy it.
I didn’t care for this one at all. Not bold, and a bit too acidic. Couldn’t drink more than a sip or two. I didn’t get any “richness” out of it.
One of the things that I wrote about coffees that I don't like it acidity. This coffee is TOO acidic. I made cups using my Hario V60, my AeroPress and through my wife's espresso machine. I used your recommended recipes for the Hario and AeroPress and they only made the acidity stand out more. No, thank you.
I didn't really like it. It was a bit burnt tasting.
Smooth and easy to drink. Our weekend coffee is usually a Yirgacheffe dark roast (oily appearance). Variety is good though and we enjoyed this blend. The nuttiness came through for my wife while I tuned in to the chocolate a little more.
Not strong enough. I prefer something with a bigger punch.
Flavor attributes called out are accurate (nutty, chocolate). However, the coffee was received in partially stale condition. There was no bloom upon brewing pour over. The acidity fell flat, and it was overall just a pretty neutral coffee.
didn't love the roast profile
This is my second coffee from this roaster. They've both been excellent.
Great in flavor, definitely taste the nutty & richness in the coffee. Overall great taste
Love it. Last line of the description is spot on. Rich, creamy with nuts and dark chocolate.
Better than Moka Java blend. Smooth, and not very bitter - but it didn't have as much body as I would typically like. I typically enjoy medium roasts, but the two coffees so far have been lighter than a typical medium roast, in my experience.
We really enjoyed the toasted nutty flavors
Great even flavored coffee!
I liked it pretty well for a blend. I would get it again
I like the nutty taste
We liked how it was a good balanced flavor, good for my wife who likes lighter blends and for me as I like medium. It was a smooth coffee, a great starter. We'd love to try something with bolder flavors next if possible.
Considering I'm more of a white chocolate mocha or iced vanilla latte kind of guy, for me this coffee's flavor was a bit more "grown up" than what I'd usually go for, but surprisingly, I liked it! Nuttier tones wouldn't have done it for me in the past, but it worked with this Anodyne House Blend.
It was good but had a spring citrus taste. When added with coffee creamer the nuttiness really came out, which I liked.
Another sour? Please stop with the sour coffees.
Amazing!!!! Fresh and very, very tasty. One of the best coffee's I have ever had.
Like: smooth flavor, low acidity
Dislike: too light, chocolate flavor
I liked this one, but felt like it was a little less flavorful than the Cafe Kaldi (though this may have been because I didn't grind it quite finely enough, I'm not sure). But still enjoyed!
This coffee was too "light" for our taste. Prefer a darker, richer flavor
Great coffee. Very drinkable. Very mellow. Loved it.
Would definitely drink again, very comparable to the "Day Tripper" they offer.
I really like this one. Pretty complex and bright
Ariel and James
It was good coffee.
very rich and bold. It smells so nice and it brews nicely. The only thing is it is a little too bitter for me.
not strong, more like tea, less like coffee, tried adjusting the ratio, didnt improve things
Nutty, medium to dark roast. Really great beans.
very tasty, great smell
Completely tasteless, horribly bland, very weak. Had to double the amount of grounds to just get a regular deep brown color. Did not like at all.
Very smooth - would be enjoyed more as an iced coffee in the summer...
Easy to drink. Would have liked bolder flavors but all in all a good cup of coffee
Hello! We enjoyed this first batch. The issue we're running into is that we don't know what we don't know - meaning we just don't have a developed palate to even determine what we did and didn't like about it! So perhaps to that end we could try something drastically different, just so we start to form a basis for comparison, and work our way toward discerning more subtle differences.
My first MistoBox delivery, so I'm no pro at coffee tasting, but this is a good one. I'm a milk and sugar kinda coffee drinker, but this one is actually quite palatable without to my taste.
This is very good. I appreciate the smoothness. I would like it a bit bolder, but without the more burnt flavor of darker coffee. I may try brewing it stronger to see if I achieve this.
The first thing I noticed is that it is indeed smooth which I liked. I also enjoyed the fact that it wasn't too acidic or bitter. I definitely taste the baking spices and nutty flavor but I'm not quite sure if I like it. While drinking this blend black, the spice and nuttiness overpowers the flavor. While adding a little sugar and cream, the blend seems to still maintain its spice and almost refuses to be enhanced by the cream and sugar. Some might like this amount of spice and nuttiness and while I do enjoy a little bit of it, overall it was a bit too strong. It's certainly not a bad blend for me but as far as flavor, but it maintains a bit of mediocrity.
I like how smooth it was and was pleasurable to drink black. I didn't get much flavor until the smooth after taste. Would prefer something with a little more character. Maybe my next one can have initial citrus notes.
Not a huge fan. Seemed a little dull and not quite bright. A little one note and flat.
I really didn't like this one. It seemed really weak. Even if I maxed out the beans, I didn't get a very robust flavor. Just seemed week all around.
A little on the light side, but still good. Would order again.
I really wanted to like this coffee. I put cream in mine, and kept thinking the cream had gone sour. But it was the coffee. Not sure if that's a bitter taste or just bad fruity taste, but I didn't like. Sorry!
Much lighter roast than I like. Not too impressed with this one.
Very nice aroma when ground and brewed. Very balanced with great body.
We really love this coffee. No bitter after taste at all. Although, it seems a bit weak with the recommended amount to grind - added more and it was fine.
Least favorite of them all. Not much flavor in general. Maybe just this batch, but I felt like I had to use a ton of beans for a normal level of flavor.
Here is a delicious blend. It is smooth and mild upfront and left me with cinnamon and cardamon, and probably a few other subtle spices. Remember this blend in a warm place on a cold day.
Wonderful flavor with an equally as great aroma. A good light roast.
I'd buy this again! It's very easy to drink and I like the nutty notes.
A close second on our favorites so far.
This one is really great. It's smoother than the Verve that I got before. I think this Anodyne rocks.
This is a great coffee. Exactly the type of flavor I was hoping for.
This is just lovely.
Woah. No one in my house likes this one! It's way bright and acidic, and doesn't have the things we like about coffee-- deep, dark, full-bodied roasty flavor. The beans were pale, and I wondered about them, then they almost looked like toasted sawdust when ground. Not my type at all! I don't even like drinking it.
I didn't enjoy this as much as the first, but it's not bad. Just more of a nutty flavor than I'd like.
Loved. Was the first one we tried. Would love more
I would give this zero stars if I could. This had like no flavor and was super weak no matter how strongly I brewed it.
I absolutely LOVE this coffee. The beans smelled so amazing when I first opened the bag that I immediately became excited to try it. It is sweet and dark and deep and everything I love in a coffee
Even the smell of the beans makes me happy. I'll be ordering this one again.
My least favorite out of the bath,My taste for coffee is not met well with spicy.still not a bad coffee though!
Didn't really stand out to me.
Not bad at all for a House Blend, I liked it a lot.
Opening the pouch, I was immediately hit with notes of dirt, earth, peanut butter and citrus. It was an interesting combination of scents, so I was anxious to see how the coffee brewed. The beans were barely medium brown and not oily at all. In tasting the coffee, I am wondering if I had a bad batch. This is the first undrinkable coffee I've experienced, with incredibly high acidity and an almost blond color. I asked members of my family to taste the coffee, sensing something wasn't right. Not only did they dislike the taste, but we all tried blending the brewed coffee with half and half, then soy milk, then 2% (all separately) with the hope that the flavor profile would improve. Each of the "milks" curdled due to the high acidity and the coffee was completely undrinkable. I had to toss whatever was left and move on. I am left to assume that something was wrong with the beans I received.
I liked the spice notes, it was a nice breakfast coffee though I agree with the other posters that it doesn't have a very deep flavor profile. I think it's a dependable brew but not something I'd remember.
This is a "local" brew where I'm from and I've never been impressed by them. All of their roasts are light, no matter how dark they claim to be. Their espresso is basically a blonde roast to give you an idea. I've also found them to all have a sour note that I can't explain. This isn't just at home either. A favorite shop near me recently switched to Anodyne exclusively and it continues there. Many people I know don't go there for the coffee anymore. :( I'd like Anodyne to succeed, but the quality is not there.
Too much acidity.
My absolute favorite so far!! I can't explain very well in words but it was perfect in every way!
Smooth, but not enough of a flavor depth to get into. The spice was nice and not overbearing, but it's low volume kept me wanting more. Not very exciting, but dependable nonetheless.
