I'm a fan of medium roast beans and was intrigued by the tasting notes so I was excited to give Spyhouse a try. This is one of the smoothest and most balanced roasts of any coffee I've ever had. It is truly exquisite. As much as I want to keep sampling other roasts from Misto, I can't stop ordering Spyhouse!

Sharper style caffeine boost; medium-bright mouthfeel; notes as described. Not bad but okay; although we did crush it pretty quickly. I think it’s because we haven’t had a real brew for awhile.

"soft or hard" flavor depending on the amount you brew. I brew by the cup and I have to say I'm surprised. It's not a bitter flavored coffee, sweetens easily with less sugar than my normal coffee. It smells sweet before and after brew. Didn't taste much of the black walnut or creme brulee, but after drinking a couple cups I see why it's tasting hints are labeled as such. This is a keeper for sure.

I like this coffee, but it certainly seems deeper than a medium roast to me. Maybe a lighter dark roast. Not what I would want most of the time, but fine for this week. The bakers chocolate flavors come through for me. Also, walnut (but not black walnut...no citrus notes, which I associate with black walnut).

This coffee is outstanding. It is dark and bold with notes of unsweetened chocolate, walnut, and caramelized sugar. It is perfect as a french press. Honestly, I will likely special order this coffee again I enjoyed it so much.

I was really excited reading the description and tasting notes, but did not end up tasting any of these flavors. It really just tasted burnt, bitter, and earthy. This is categorized as a medium roast, but it definitely tastes more like a dark to me. Ground on medium in a burr grinder and brewed in a v60 pour over. Not sure how to change my process to compliment these beans better.
Update: I realized after giving this coffee a few more days it may have been the switch going from a light-med roast to a med-dark that gave it such a strong taste. In the end I really enjoyed this one.

I like the hint of Walnut. Well rounded, full bodied. Clean taste without the swampy earthiness that I have detected in a lot of coffees lately, However, it doesn't seem to be very freshly roasted. I may have been sent an old batch.

The Bold & The Beautiful Organic coffee was superb. A nice dark roast that was very smooth to drink. I highly recommend this coffee as it is superb to drink (if you enjoy a dark roast). Will buy again. Yum!

Nice coffee. A little darker than depicted in the description. Black walnut and very dark chocolate notes. Not burnt or overly roasted. About as far dark of a roast as I would ever want to go. Got the best out of it with a 60g/L ratio, medium-fine grind, and 200* F brew.

Has dark chocolate and notes of black cherry(?) It is OK. A coarser grind removes some of the black cherry or sharper notes, leaving more chocolate or cream-type notes, but it isn't a coffee that grabs me.

This is my favorite coffee from Mistobox- out of 31 so far! It's rich, on the darker side or medium, and smooth. I definitely get the burnt sugar notes.
