This coffee will be fresh roasted for you. We expect Good Folks Coffee will roast and ship this coffee in 1-2 business days depending on their roasting schedule.
This is the Deep Space Blend brought to you by Good Folks Coffee. The Deep Space Blend features high quality coffees from some of their favorite origins. Simple and straightforward, this coffee is intended to appeal to a wide audience of coffee lovers, with bold notes of walnut, dark chocolate and a classic smoky dark roast intensity.
I had selected only Dark Roast and this was selected for us. I’ve since added Medium and some other flavor notes. French Press brewing is somewhat new to us. That explains why this is pretty bold to us. Having said that, we actually enjoyed the coffee! It’s a nicely balanced French roast. Not something we would gravitate toward during this part of our journey, but really nice. We’ve been playing with ratios. Settled on a 1:14 for this bean.
Appealing, strong but simple. Good body.
Very good, my favorite one so far!
Love this blend one of my favorites!
One of the best coffee I’ve brewed. Love the rich and smooth taste
too smoky. not a fan of french roast
This is a good medium to somewhat dark roast coffee that is smooth, but is not bold enough for my personal taste and has that French Roast flavor (smokiness?) that I don't personally care for. I'm looking for something really bold/strong, resembling my Starbucks order of tall Americano with an extra shot. I'm wondering if I need to change my profile to Expresso rather than dark roast?? I use French Press and weigh my beans, usually 18 gms.
Not as intense in flavor as I expected
A great blend. You can taste the smoky, dark chocolate flavor. Good choice especially if you drink black coffee!
Was tough to judge because it was hard to dial in since it wasn't an espresso roast. With the notes I was getting I think I would've loved this if it were an espresso.
I really liked the coffee's chocolatey and nutty flavors.
It was pretty good I guess. A lot of people said that it was overly smoky but I didn’t think it tasted smoky at all. In fact I pretty much dislike smoked anything. I was kind of hesitant about trying it after reading the reviews but I figured since I had already paid for it that’s the least I could do.
It was good...just not terribly interesting.Personally, I didn't catch the nutty notes.
It didn't taste dark enough to me.
I'm getting a lot of sour notes, but that may be my ineptitude of doing a pour over.
Tasty and smooth. Easy drinking.
bold flavor but light body, taste dissipates quickly. tried more gounds, finer grind, and played with temperature a little but still possible I didn't milk all the good out if it.
This was good. Not as dark or rich like I prefer. It was smooth and tasted good though. I would like to think I could articulate what I like in a coffee, but it’s very hard. I do like the deep space coffee. It was smooth going down and had a medium dark roast. I do prefer it to be a bit more bold in the dark roast department. I like when there are chocolate undertones to it. Smooth, bold, and rich I suppose is what I’m looking for
Loved it! Spoiled to have had it as my first round. Will likely try to order it again.
Thank you so much for this, but I unfortunately did not like the smoky taste!
Definitely enjoying this one! Very flavorful. The smoke taste is unique. Very good with milk (lattes) to me, which takes off some of the bitterness while maintaining a strong coffee taste. Would get this again!
Very good! Smooth. A little too dark but otherwise lovely!
This is a nice coffee, but has little flavor. I do like the smoothness and dark notes, but it seems weak.
I'm beginning to be able to distinguish different tastes in the coffees. Deep Space is not as sweet as Night Moves, and is a little more bitter. Night moves is still my favorite so far.
Really nice and toasty / bread-y taste
I liked it. I think it’s better out of the French press compared to regular drip. I also notice you get more of the Smokey note when you use different temperature
Amazing coffee best I’ve had so far.
I think this coffee was pretty simple as mentioned in the description, didnt get much sweetness out of the beans and maybe a little more bitter than I would have liked
Love the bold flavors, but the smokiness is a little strong
Really dark, but has a nice smokiness when brewed with Aeropress
Good but a little too bold for my taste. Good dark roast tho.
Excellent for a dark roast.
This has been one of my favorites. i'm going to probably have to order more of this one.
I ground on medium in my burr grinder and brewed in my conventional drip machine. It was a little on the smoky side and simple. Good to drink but not mind blowing with complexity.
This was actually a really good coffee I loved it!!
Although definitely bold in flavor, also surprisingly smooth and approachable. My wife, who usually splashes coffee into her sugar and cream, even found it enjoyable. I enjoyed the nutty and dark chocolate flavor. Perfect Sunday morning or afternoon brew for me.
Good, but a tad too dark for me.
I tasted a full body with some smokiness. Good blend.
Impressively awesome. So much better than the store bought coffee I have been brewing my whole life.
Great smoky/roasty flavor
Good, but not my favorite. I prefer a little more dark chocolate/cocoa in my coffee.
Very smooth & flavorful. When I opened to package the smell was A-mazing!
Loved it can't wait yo visit the coffee house in Kentucky.
We really are enjoying this coffee. Its strong, bold flavor is very nice. It pairs very well with my homemade amaretto creamer.
A little too bold and Smokey. Smelled great
the positives include a smooth finish with no bitter after taste but it did not have a strong enough flavor (tasted too watery when brewed even when I increased the amount of coffee) nor could I taste the nutty, chocolate or smoky flavors
Lovely deep chocolate smell. Very smooth and well balanced. We brewed in a stovetop macchinetta. My husband drinks his coffee black, with no sugar and absolutely loved it.
This was the best blend yet . Full smooth flavor and aroma. This one is a winner.
A bit bright and acidic for my taste.
Great dark roast. To my palate it was light on Smokey. It was there but as a Colombian much smoother than say a French roast. Very smooth and didn’t have any of the light roast “bright” after taste. Nothing wrong with brightness it’s just not my favorite in am. Great coffee! Will try others from this roaster.
I liked the flavor and the intensity.
A solid cup of coffee, but rather uninteresting.
Please send this one again
Good, simple, and straightforward. Not quite as complex as I hoped.
This was good for a coffee, but we prefer espresso for our machine
A little too strong....I had to put more creamer than I normally do to make it sweet enough for my taste.
This roast was a good introduction to what Mistobix has to offer. The coffee was smooth and balanced with no bite. We brewed it mostly by pour over and the aroma made me excited to have my first cup. A nice roast over all and an easy sipper.
Great rich cup of coffee.
Well, it had a very bitter after taste that made it a 2 star for me. The roast overall was more of a medium-dark based on what I normally drink. I generally like the smoky, bold and nutty flavors but smooth as well. This was lacking in the smooth department. It wasn't bad, it's just a coffee I would never purchase again.
Update 8/21/20 - After drinking more of this, it grew on me as I progressed through the bag. I bumped this up to a 3 star. I may purchase this again now if I just wanted something different.
Definite dark chocolate notes, but would have liked more nuttiness.
Love this coffee; dark, strong, chocolatey
A lighter bean w a very bold taste and feel.
Really good! First time I made this one I did it a little strong - but once you get the ratios right it’s great!!!
The flavor was good, but was not bold or strong enough for our liking. Prefer something darker.
Clearly a good coffee but I prefer darker
Smooth, well rounded flavors. Not bitter and doesn't taste burnt.
Nothing special. Smooth but pretty simple. I like more complexity in my coffee.
strong coffee taste, no bitterness, really enjoyed it
Milder than I though but good.
another fave, stong dark flavor not bitter or acidic
We enjoyed it but it could have had a little more depth to it.
Not a bad French Roast but a really average choice. I was hoping for something more interesting and unusual in this subscription. Too “safe”
It has a bold start and a smooth finish, a good choice, what else you got?
Not bad, but not a huge fan of the darker roast
Consistently smooth. Solid flavor profile, with more richness than boldness.
Smelled fantastic but as a french press at least ended up being a little bitter and burnt
I love it.
Enjoyable, but slightly boring. Surprisingly mellow in a Moka pot (a good thing) and even and reliable as drip. Although a fan of dark roasts, I'm not overly fond of French roast, so this one might be subjective.
Bold, smoky, deep chocolate flavor. Very oily bean, turned into rich notes. Excellent cup of coffee. Brewed with french press.
Delicious! Malty, complex.
It was easy to drink, but not a real stand out. We wish it was a bit bolder or had more body. We're still learn how to describe these things. One thing we notice upon opening the bag, lack a rich aroma. You really need to stick you nose in the bag to smell it.
A little too dark for my taste. The beans have been burnt to the point that there's no coffee flaver left. Coffee roasted this dark is usually very bitter, but this is actually kind of smooth, so I gave it three stars instead of one. I would love to taste a lighter roast from this company because you can tell these are quality beans by the smoothness. I just wish there were some coffee notes still present.
The aroma when grinding the beans is very smoky with hints of nuts and dark chocolate. Brewed, the coffee maintains its smokiness and nuttiness and is carried by a medium body. It is surprisingly light for its heavy flavors, but lingers on the pallet with bitterness. It finishes with just a touch of sweetness, which is good relief from the rich flavors. Overall, a quality smoky, French roast type, with a medium body, and just a hint of sweetness. The lingering bitterness makes you feel like you drank a cup of smoky cowboy coffee, however the experience is much milder. Overall I enjoy the cup of coffee, however the smokiness does cover most other flavors which is why I rate this lower. A balance of smoke is needed with flavor while this one can overpower the beans themselves.
Really liked this blend! Exceptional dark roast. Will order again.
Not bad. Not a lot of flavor. Maybe to smoky or nutty, but not exactly sure. I enjoyed the bold and darkness.
Definitely enjoyed it, especially the smoky flavour and aroma that was present. Something less nutty would be nice.
The description is accurate to our taste. Smoky but not burnt.
Fantastic aroma out of the box! High hopes somewhat dashed but the coffee was good. Better than most beans I would buy at the market. It's labeled a dark roast but its on the medium side of the dark scale. I give it a 7.5/10.
Excellent match to our preferences. Keep sending us coffee similar to this.
Not as bold as I would like.
Coffee is very smooth and rich.
Tried it Sunday, got great reviews from my wife and daughter, as well as my big thumbs up!!
Dark, bold, nutty, best drank black
Pleasant chocolate notes with just a bit of fruitiness
Very bold, chocolatey, and earthy. A great morning brew.
Brewed in a drip machine. My coffee vocab is not up to par yet :), but I enjoyed the smokiness, and the depth of flavors without acidity of some stronger coffees.
Great aroma and great flavor. My wife enjoyed it black and I enjoyed it with a touch of my french vanilla almond milk creamer. Two thumbs up!
Absolutely loved the flavor on this one - it was unique but not overwhelming.
good balance - not too light. I would say a medium roast
first cup is very good im enjoying the deep richness to it.
Enjoyed it more the second time around. I prefer bolder, but this was very nice
We love this coffee - it's VERY smoky. Super dark and bold. Such a great pick.
A really classic, well done dark roast. Not mind blowing, but also not over roasted. Exactly what we were hoping for.
One of the best coffees we have had in quite some time.
I’m really enjoying this coffee
I was disappointed in this first selection. Given that it is said to be bold, I was disappointed to find it rather bland. It was smooth but unfortunately it did not have much flavor. Much too simple.
Good. It could be a little darker but it is extremely smooth.
Good, but did not have the full flavor I usually enjoy. Loved it smooth yet dark flavor.
tasted fine but not sure of the right ratio of coffee to water to use 1/1 tased good, would like a stronger blend though
Very good. Made great coffee.
I like the boldness of this coffee. I think I would prefer it to be less Smokey and a little more balanced. I do like that it is rich and dark.
Delicious coffee! My new favorite
It was ok not to bad
We really liked this one, thanks
Super good! Just the nutty flavor we like.
Good nutty flavor, would like to see a darker roast.
It was a decent cup, a little flat. It’s always fun to try something new:)
Good. Could be more bold, but no suggested scoops per cup so I went with 1 to 1. Happy Easter.
very smooth, rich in flavor. Brewed in aeropress, moka, siphon and french press. Great flavor in each.
3.5 - good, but not the best we’ve ever had
In the description it says it is meant to appeal to a wide audience and I didn't hate it. Just didn't commit to a certain feeling and was a bit flat.
Very strong and powerful blend. Just perfect!
It was a bit too bold and left an arid taste.
Very pleasant smell when brewing. Great taste which was enjoyed by many.
I found the coffee very bitter. I even tried changing my grind coarseness but did not help. Maybe it is the "smoky" description that is not fitting my flavor liking. I do look forward to changing it up on my next delivery.
I really really like this blend! Good flavor, not bitter.
I don't think I've ever had a "smoky" coffee before as opposed to a smoky whiskey. Glad I got to have the experience, but not sure I'd want to drink anything like that again.
Ok. A little musty and not quite robust enough but ok.
The Deep Space Blend was good coffee. It was robust, but not very flavorful. I had Intelligentsia Frequency Blend on hand at the same time, and that was my go-to.
I was concerned from the start by what there was of aroma when I opened the bag. Decidedly burnt toast. That is its leading edge, followed by a middle that didn't develop into anything interesting (certainly nothing resembling intensity) & the aftertaste made me want to brush my teeth. The walnut aspect is of the dusty, bitter variety. If the chocolate is there, it lacks cacao content. A mediocre coffee & a deeply disappointing first offering to a deluxe tier subscriber.
Very nice taste.... not bitter.
Deeply disappointed to receive a shipment of “whole bean” coffee only to discover that it was already ground, and not even to the right consistency. This is not at all what I am paying for with this service.
I definitely enjoyed this one, but it was just shy of being the level of acidity I want. I really enjoy a high level of acidity.
A little too smokey, but good chocolate flavor
Beans smelled amazing but when brewed it was too flat, simple, one note.
Love it, tastes good. Great first start
Super dark, bold
Strong and smooth. Great flavor. Mixed with a medium blend really enhances the taste.
French roast is a little too bold for my taste. I prefer less smoky notes and more like sweet chocolate.
loved it! great flavor and boldness
Intense dark, good strong flavor
The coffee brewed very weak
Very smooth with a hint of acidity. No bitterness at all. However, for my taste it is not dark and robust enough. A darker, oily bean would be preferred.
Thought it was great. Excellent first selection
Pretty good. Like the deep smoky notes, though a little bland. Would likely drink again.
Great dark roast taste and very smooth.
Not as robust as I expected—lacks the intensity of most French roasts I am familiar with drinking.
really rich and chocolately bold flavor, loved it!
I loved that it had a big punch of flavor with absolutely no bitterness. It also smells divine, even while still in bean form in the bag.
A bit too light for me, slightly bitter finish.
Delicious and nutty. Great quality and simple flavor.
It was ok. Continue to look.
Very solid blend. Tried it using French press and Chemex and I thought the Chemex tasted better and produced a more "earthy / nutty flavor".
Nice and bold, not smokey, a little chocolate, smooth
A little too fruity. I prefer a little darker roast.
Smooth. Could be a little stronger for my taste.
Unless you're a fan of Colombian beans, give this roast a pass. The citrus top notes overwhelmed nearly every other flavor note. I ditched the bag after a single cup.
Good choice for my preferences.
Very tasty, loses aroma after brew
The flavor is nutty & slightly Smokey but find it brew a weaker coffee- not robust.
I like nutty and bold, but this is too smoky for me. I asked for beans that aren't too smoky in my profile.
I've had my Bunn drip machine for about 2yrs and tried this coffee in it yesterday. No lie, best pot of coffee I've ever made!
Blew me away. One of the best cups of coffee I've ever made.
Good, but a little boring for me. It's similar to what I would usually pick out. Not bad at all, and as a first pick it definitely reflects my standard comfort zone. However, I'm interested in trying something a little more unique or exciting.
Nothing special , a little too smoky flavor
WOW! Rich yet not overpowering. Extremely unique experience. You don't overdose on the richness like some. Each sip is like experiencing it again and again.
Loved the smoky aroma, but the coffee was a little light for my taste.
Excellent match for my tastes. However, the brew guide on your site that suggests 14 tablespoons for 8 cups of coffee is way, way too much. You only need 6 tablespoons at most. We have a Behmor Brazen Plus, which presoaks the grounds for two minutes. Our first batch was too strong to drink, having followed the guidelines in the brew guide.
Too over roasted for my tastes. Description is accurate though. Not awful.
It is well balanced but leaves a little bit of an acidic after taste on the palate. The intensity isn't as bold otherwise as I would have liked.
Dark, smooth, flavorful and tasty!
Dark and smooth! Loved it. Extremely drinkable!
Great choice; smooth but bold
I found it to be a good “once in awhile” blend. There were some beans in there that I could have done without. I liked that it wasn’t over-roasted.
It is not rich or deep enough, too mild. I do not like bitter coffee, or weak coffee either. I like a deep, rich, dark flavor with no bitterness.
Amazing flavor, smooth texture
Amazing coffee! It is a rich, smooth blend, ideal for any time of the day. It's perfect with my bagel in the morning and it's a great solution to afternoon brain fog. You need this coffee. Incidentally, I drink all my coffee black, so great flavor is a must. This is the one you've been looking for!
Smelled wonderful, but French Roast always seems a little more bitter to me, and I do not care for it (which I did put in my feedback thingy).
Too bitter and very smoky
Pretty good coffee. Not 5 star worthy, but pretty good.
I like the taste of the coffee. You can definitely taste the freshness.
It was ok.. didn’t like the packaging. Prefer a zip bag
Great flavor. Would've liked a more oily bean.
A lingering bitter taste. Not very smooth.
Nice flavor. Bold but still smooth.
I didn’t like the smoky undertones
It was so smooth and delicious! We loved the flavor compounds.
definitely smooth, with nutty overtones.
Nice, smooth just is lacking special nuances.
Pretty good.. there's a nice nutty sweetness that definitely gives this blend a uniqueness.
Blend is not bad, however I would like it to have more of a smoky flavor. I am also not the biggest fan of the dark chocolate flavors.
Tasty! Rich, nutty, smokey, and bold.
Nice and bold. I add warm milk to it, but still it might be a little too bitter.
I had Deep Space on my first day of retirement and it was a lovely, smoky and deep-hued coffee. I thought it had great depth of flavor and many different notes.
Loved it! Taste very clean and bold. A bit strong but could be because I’m not use to such fresh beans.
Wasn’t strong enough
The coffee was good, but a bit more bitter and acidic than the Major Dickason’s I normally drink. I’m not usually a French Roast fan.
A little too dark, and not as nuanced as I would like.
Very good dark roast for espresso, too dark for my tastes for a regular pour over hot or iced coffee but makes an excellent espresso shot.
Strong but not bitter. Very smooth but had no depth. Wouldn't want to drink this on a daily basis.
Very tasty! A little darker than I usually prefer but I actually enjoyed the flavor a lot more than I expected!
very good we liked it a lot
One of the better coffees we have received.
Bold, rich taste. Smooth coffee with good (not overpowering) notes of smokiness and dark chocolate. Good flavor (sometimes nuttiness is overpowering, but not at all here). This could be a daily drinker.
Great flavor, easy to drink Nd satisfying All around great cup of coffee.
Good balanced cup. Slightly smokey which was very pleasant.
Best brewed in Chemex
Too smokey. No one in my house enjoyed this coffee.
Wow. Winner this one. Amazing.
It's a great wake up in the morning blend.
Best of the bunch, to date. Very smoky!
really enjoyed this, good solid flavor
Pretty good overall
The description was spot on. Smoky, nutty and bold!
Very pleasant. Not exciting, but very pleasant.
Fantastic. Balanced and flavorful. Would purchase again.
Great dark roast. Not too strong, and was smooth, just bold enough for me. Would buy again.
It’s a good coffee but a deep enough roast that I wouldn’t drink it too regularly.
Mellow and unexciting to drink, a bit rich, perhaps too dark and smoky of a roast for me.
Didn't have a distinct flavor. Minimal smell when I opened the bag and while brewing.
Didn't seem to have much flavor to it. Minimal smell to the beans and while brewing.
I did not enjoy this one as much. I found this blend to be fruitier and more acidic than the other three I have tried thus far from MB.
Me and my wife loved this coffee. It was such a great full flavoured coffee.
Very good! Really enjoyed. Would like to try something more chocolate-y.
Good Folks Coffee has been consistently my favorite brand of all the ones of tried.
This is an amazing coffee. One of the best in a while. I have brewed it with my v60 and espresso machine with consistent results.
More mild. perks me up nicely.
Smooth and mild. A decent cup of coffee, but nothing to write home about. I didn't detect any notes of anything with this coffee.
Not my taste profile. Too dark for my liking.
My husband drank it all while I was gone so I didn’t get to taste any! But he said it was pretty good!
Nice flavor! Strong but smooth. Liked this one a lot.
Excellent cup of coffee!
THIS COFFEE WAS AMAZING! Bold, full bodied, rich and smooth. I want every cup to taste this good!
Overall pretty good. The smokiness was not overwhelming.
Too dark for us!
Nice chocolate & smokey
Bland and weak for a dark roast coffee. Just didn't make the grade for a morning coffee.
Great blend. Dark without being muddy. Can taste notes of chocolate. Will try cold brewing it for tomorrow. Had a delicious hot cup today.
I dont like french roast. It is too blacl for me.
We were excited to receive our first mistobox. Upon opening, I was surprised you had selected a french roast for me, as I had specifically called out french roasts in my initial survey response as being one of the few coffees I didn't tend to enjoy. I have found them just "too roasted" in my limited experience. Nonetheless I appreciated the freshness of the roast of my bag of Good Folks Deep Space Blend, and it's not been as acidic as I had feared. Still, I'm hoping for the next bag we might try something closer to a medium roast. Something nutty again perhaps, but a bit less smokey and bold.
Also I'm still eager to understand better why I've always like Colombian coffee so well. What's special about it? What produces the slight tanginess (for lack of a better description)?
This was my favorite by far, they just got everything right and it hit the spot just right every cup.
Ok. Flavor is good, but there's a weird after taste that I'm not in love with. Also seems to be really strongly caffeinated.
This is awesome. Great flavor. Very smooth. Nice pick. More like this.
A little too bitter for my taste, but makes good espresso.
Probably my new favorite coffee. It’s strong but not too much so. It has a good coffee taste with a little bit of nuts and chocolate.
I really liked the smooth nature of this roast. It was easy on the palate especially when sipped on its own, without food. I brewed in the afternoon so it was really enjoyable. So far I can honestly say I like them both for different reasons. This one is a little more smooth.
Really nutty great with a touch of cream Yesi’s fav
It was a little too bold on the finish for me. I think the smoky profile is what got me.
Little bit of nutty taste
The smokiness makes this one taste like burnt diner coffee to me.
Perfect blend of everything and none of the bitterness.
My favorite so far. Could be more oily and dark, but smooth and chocolatey.
intense in a great way!
Deb Loved This One
Not bold enough for me.
I do not like this coffee. It is weak and unappealing. In addition it is slightly acidic which I do not like. It lacks the full-bodied flavor of DCR Douoble Dark.
Loved the bold and smoky flavor.
My husband and I both loved this coffee (and we don't always agree!). Very smooth and rich. I like it made in an Aeropress but it still retains its great flavor in a drip.
This coffee produced a great shot. It is smooth with a hint of bitterness. Its flavor was milder when made into an americano or cappucino and left me hoping it would be slightly more robust.
It's good but I was hoping for more depth of flavor.
French Roast dark but not as dark or as rich as Kickapoo Supernova
Very good! I liked it. It's bold but still smooth. Taste doesn't "linger" like some other dark roasts. Nice balance.
Cons? I didn't love it. It's a bit too chocolately (believe it or not, I'm not a big chocolate guy) and smoky for me. Not terrible but would prefer something a bit lighter. This would be a prime winter/cold weather brew.
Perfect undertones of chocolate, really smooth and not fruity at all. The strength and taste were perfect, I didn't realize how much I loved it until I brewed the wrong beans by mistake.
It's a good straight dark coffee with some hints of smoke and nuttiness. I say straight since it's not too complicated in flavor, which is nothing bad to say. The smell is more complex to my nose than the taste. I would say it's good but not excellent.
Not as strongly flavored as I prefer, but it is well balanced. Not too acidic, not too smoky.
I really enjoyed this. Very smooth. Very mellow. Nice sweetness to it. I don't think it is as smoky/bold as described, but my palette might not be up to snuff. Either way, I prefer this coffee WAY more than the previous month's coffee. Nicely done.
I liked this a lot. It wasn't outstanding. I like something even more flavorful.
Enjoyed this more than first bag.
Good strong flavor but too smoky for my taste.
Very nice, i need to have another cup to decide if its 4 or 5 stars:-)
The taste was rich and smooth......with a chocolate undertone that I loved. I actually chose to drink it without my usual unsweetened almond milk. This was a home run for me! Thanks for the great choice!
For a bold coffee- didn’t seem that bold to me.
Enjoyed this one.
The nutty flavor in this blend wasn't my favorite but that is in no way a complaint, I was pleased with the overall flavor. I just feel there will be others I like better.
Unlike Barefoot this Good Folks dark roast had a lingering smoky/ash finish which is not appealing. Actually second thoughts--pouring technique may have unduly affected first impressions. I like it and raising two stars to four
Not as bold a finish as I like
The Deep Space Blend is a bit too dark roasted. Okay once in a while, but would like to try a medium roast with the same full body richness. We like the nutty flavor, we don't like sour, or bitter.
this coffee is easy to drink with creamy flavors and no bitterness. Great every day coffee but would like to try some richer, more flavorful roasts.
Very delicious. Love the chocolate and smoky flavor
Kind of an earthy, fishy taste at the beginning.
Too smoky for me
I liked it but not as much as the Double Dark Blend--maybe a bit of an acidic after taste? Thank you
Really nice blend, bold and flavorful.
This is a good coffee. I taste the nutty and roasty flavor immediately. I get some of the smoky in the after taste. I do not pick up any of the chocolate though. Better than the previous coffee.
One of my favorites!
Good flavors! Robust without being harsh.
Nice bold blend!
I'll be honest, I drank this one so fast I didn't even pay too much attention to the flavors I was experiencing! It was delicious and right in the vein of coffee that I like, from aroma through to flavor.
Great robust flavor. Went through this pretty quick!
Shallower flavor, doesn't have taste that appeals to me. Almost chemical-taste.
We liked Deep Space Blend better than Midway Blend. However, my wife is still looking for even bolder or more "robust", as she puts it. I liked Deep Space quite a bit, but have to admit that I was wanting for a bit more complexity, for lack of a better term.
There was a thin flavor to this bean. Not a fan.
Preparation: fine grind, 350mL of water @ 212F, steeped for 5 minutes, teaspoon of orange blossom honey. Still a slight tangy flavor. Would like something smoother, earthier, and fuller of body.
Good coffee. Good flavor.
Too dark, lacking flavor apart from the roasted nature of the beans.
Not a fan of this one. Too mild but also very bitter.
Meh is about right.
Great, bold cup of coffee to enjoy in the morning! Both Good Folks coffees have been great so far.
This coffee is just OK. Not bad but also nothing special.
A little bland but a good cup of joe overall.
Good solid cup of coffee. Smoky flavor was not overwhelming, and blended well with nutty tone of coffee. For a coffee labeled Deep Space Blend, I expected a darker roast, this was more a medium roast. Not so much a bold flavor, but a more balanced and smooth flavor. Would have liked it a little bolder. Overall a good cup of joe.
I noted the chocolate in this roast, and could tell that it was a dark roast. Nice!
Overall it's too weak or light or whatever the proper coffee vernacular should be. I had to add an extra tablespoon to my press to make it drinkable for me. So 3 heaping tablespoons plus another flat tablespoon and it's drinkable. Not enough meat or bite or whatever the word. With just 3 heaping tablespoons it tastes like someone wrung a coffee rag in my cup.
Not much flavot
The caffeine wasn't as potent but the taste was fantastic.
I received this coffee as my first Mistobox delivery and I must say that it is a lead off Homerun! What a delicious cup! Right out of the gate I must say that it is just the right amount of rich and bold without becoming too heavy or bitter as some French Roasts can be. Very sophisticated flavor notes. Like enjoying a handful of my favorite chocolate covered nuts. Just enough smoke ties it all together beautifully. Perfect for a morning eye opener or after dinner with dessert. Highly recommended. Enjoy!
very nice taste, bold but not excessive.
not bold, beans not dark enough
Great smoky finish
Good. Pretty mellow and just as described.
Overall good flavor, not overwhelming, smooth and rich
Overall a good, balanced coffee. It does have brightness somewhat resembling a lighter roast. And I usually prefer a darker, more oily bean. Yet, it has a nice smoky taste, and dark-chocolatey notes shine through. It is certainly tasty. It isn't so bitter like the first coffee I tried, so I prefer the Deep Space Blend in that regard.
near perfect French Roast - so smoky!
Not a fan of this one...somewhat bland, not bold enough. Didn't have the flavor punch that the Dillano's Special Dark had. Definitely NOT a good choice for my early mornings.
One of the best coffees I have received from Mistobox.
Good smoky flavor, more medium-dark roast than full on dark roast. Still delicious.
So good and sweeter than I was expecting. Its lovely.
Rich smoky flavor with a smooth finish. Bold but only on the margin.
Great and strong taste...
tastes lighter than we prefer, don't taste chocolate, more smokey than prefer.
My favorite so far. Strong, bold with great chocolate notes.
I liked it! I can taste the chocolate and walnut notes. But I'd say I liked the previous one better.
It's good but has a harsh aftertaste. Wish I knew which grind setting to use for it
It was okay. Beans seemed a little dry, but I'm never sure if that's indicative of anything or not. Bag say something about French Roast, but luckily it wasn't anything remotely like French roast.
I enjoyed the bold flavors
This doesn't taste much different than the last coffee that I received, and is perhaps a bit less flavorful.
Best one yet!
Not a fan of the bold walnut flavor
It's ok, maybe a little to nutty for my taste.
strong and smooth, no bitter after taste
Terry & Sandy
I was surprised how light tasting this was for a French roast. Not sure I would purchase this.
Too much of a lighter roast and not enough of a strong coffee taste to be rated good.
A great bold, roasty coffee.
Love this one! Dark and smooth. A perfect cup of coffee!
Great coffee, solid taste, and very drinkable. The flavors are subtle, this feels like a very delicate coffee in terms of flavor notes. It's not too bitter and is quite smooth overall.
Solid. Not getting me jazzed but not horrible. 3 stars for me. Thanks.
Solid espresso shot. Bold. Not sweet. Some bitter notes, but pretty nice and not over roasted.
I think that this is a very good blend. I can taste the subtle walnut, and I like that a lot.
Very tasty, bold and SMOKY. We enjoyed the smoky, chocolate flavors. Putting this one on the buy more list.
Does this one come in decaf?
If so, please some in December.
Don't love dark roasts.
I think this was the first dark roast received from my subscription. I like this coffee, I agree with the notes, it is bold and nutty.
I am not a "refined" palate to distinguish subtle flavor differences. However, I do know what is pleasing on my palate and what "pleases my soul." I enjoy Peet's or McDonald's so much more than the coffee GIANT. I was very, very pleased with this first order you selected for me. I was using ground coffee previously and my son thought I would appreciate freshly grinding my own beans to brew my coffee and he was right. What a thoughtful Christmas gift. I had to use up my ground supply before I placed my first order with Mistobox. Now I am hooked!
Too light for me.
I took the time to fill out the questionnaire, but I don't believe the info I provided about my preferences was heeded. I said I prefer medium roast and the first coffee I received is a dark roast.
Upgrading my review to 4 stars. My tastes seem to be evolving more toward darker roasts, and I'm finding that I like this coffee more and more over time. Feel free to send more. :-)
Fresh, full-bodied, and smoky but not bitter at all.
This was pretty good. It worked well over ice, hot, sweet and just plain. I made it using an Aeropress, Moka pot, and Espresso machine. It wasn't bitter, and I didn't feel like it left any weird aftertaste, so that's good. Overall I was pleased with this blend.
a little bit -- something -- what? strong is the wrong word. too dark for my taste?
Absolutely loved Deep Space Blend from Good Folks! Great nutty, dark smoky flavor.
Very dark and bold. A good afternoon cup.
I appreciate the flavor profile. I enjoy the smoky character but the roast is a bit too dark for me.
It's a dark roast and we really want medium.
Perfect blend, love it!
First key note:Awesome low acid blend. I had no flair ups.
If you like coffee that is well rounded, this is worth your time to try. Every cup brewed up was a proper morning cup. It was a great after dinner desert brew as well. without any overly vibrant noisy flavors. Not sure if it was due to some allergy and cold season, this was still delightful.
This coffee had nice smokey notes and good texture, but lacks complexity.
It's everything I don't like about dark roast, smoky and bitter. That overpowers all the other flavors.
This coffee blend says it all, nutty, smoke, and bold with little bitterness on the side. Its categorized as medium blend but the bag stated dark roast. I find this to be in between. Not weak or strong for dark roast but enough. It tastes like most coffee I can find near local coffee shop. Nothing special or bad about it but average at best.
Good, great tasting just not my personal favorite.
don't like nutty
Roasts and nutty for sure. Bean looked lighter but tasted similar to previous. Maybe something a little less roasty, more chocolate notes
delicious, bold, deep flavors. I thoroughly enjoyed this!
I like the smokey flavor and it seems a little stronger. Did not pick up some of the finer notes. Enjoyable but not a favorite
I prefer a much stronger coffee with some spice and heavier mouth feel.. Cranked my grinder up to 7 whereas I usually grind my Kenya and sometimes Sumatra beans at 5. Please change my next shipment.
I very much liked this coffee--nice and bold, but not bitter.
Our second favorite so far.
Best so far.
I loved the full body and flavor, slightly spicy and the nutty flavors rounded out the flavor nicely.
Great, solid roast. I love the notes of walnut and smooth finish. Not the most adventurous or bold blend -- not to say that that is necessarily a fault.
This one was much darker than the last. Much more roasty or dark than we are used to. Hard to describe but it tastes like we are brewing it wrong. But we are brewing it like we do everything else.
Absolutely love. It's so bold and the taste in phenomenal.

Nutty, indeed, with a surprising natural sweetness. Not really that smoky, especially compared to other "French Roast" coffees. A very balanced flavor; I just wish it had a bit stronger finish after that wonderful start!!
All I can say is wow... after finding the right ratio I can't believe how tasty this is. Gave it a few extra grams of beans and wow did that flavor come out.
Japanese style over ice made this coffee amazing!
Not sure what to think of this. Initial taste comes off as very "bright". Very bitter. Which surprises me because I tend to like bitter. Will try to play around with how much I am grinding per 2oz espresso pour. Jury is still out on this one. -- UPDATE: after playing around with my pour, turns out this is a pretty nice blend, much more palatable. Bumped to 4 stars
The smell alone is AWESOME!! I was excited to try it after I smelled it but alas had to wait till the am, by far one of the best coffees I have had in a long time-YUMMY!!!
It is fine, but I liked the prior shipment more, the Ethiopia Sidama Ardi from Equator. The dark roasts I've enjoyed in the past have been Sumatra and Komodo Dragon blend, from Starbucks. However, in that my coffee drinking thus far has been the aforementioned Starbucks, with its focus on darker roasts (at least until recently), I'm open to trying lighter roasts and would like to do so with the next shipment. Don't care if it's single origin or a blend. Again, Deep Space is fine! I will be drinking all of it. But I don't see myself looking to get another bag of it again. I guess I don't like the smokiness that much; I'm not a french roast kinda guy.
Love the slightly smoky strong bold flavor. Great wake up coffee!
I liked this coffee just as much as the first one I received. For me, the darker, the better!
OMG! Loved this coffee so much. We drank half the bag in 2 days. If we weren't in Vegas on a work trip, this coffee would be all gone - before the next great shipment from Misto even arrives. I can't put my finger on an exact flavor description - but it was PERFECT for our espressos and latte's. Sometimes I feel the coffee gets lost when I sweeten it (I love to sweeten my cappacino's) but this one just tasted better. LOVED this coffee. Would love to receive more just like it :) Thank you Connor - Keep the good coffee coming :)
I really, really enjoy this coffee. Really, every coffee I've had with mistobox has been a 5 star coffee, but since I may like some others more than this one, Kaldi's French roast has been my personal favorite so far, I'm giving this a 4 star.
I typically use a french press or pour over to brew and it is fantastic. Alright, now for me to attempt to describe the coffee... I definitely pickup the dark chocolate and smoky notes in the coffee, which are some of my favorite qualities. If you like dark roasts with a smoky, dark chocolate qualities then this is good one to pick up.

Very nice. Both my wife and I like this coffee. Send more like this.
A little bitter bite to it but not bad overall.
This blend was the very first blend I got from mistobox and it was very suited to me. I loved the flavor and I loved the darkness of it. Definitely a thumbs up.
Dark, rich, full of flavor this coffee is my favorite yet. I enjoyed it on the french press and it is to die for in the mochapot. This coffee earns my first 5-star rating!
Right on track for me. This one moves into second place on my list of favorites, behind only Kickapoo Organic Driftless and not by much.
The deep space was nice. Very tasty, but not super remarkable. I liked it, but I won't remember it a year from now.
Description says it all. Wonderful coffee. All the flavors I love from a cup of coffee rolled into each sip. The first taste was smooth and rich. Then I caught the same flavors of a bourbon barrel aged stout. Delicious.
Walnut and Chocolate flavors come through in this straight forwardcoffee. Not too strong, a pretty safe blend to try.
Not as deep or delicious as the first coffee i received
The bean seemed lighter and didnt have as rich of a flavor
seemed to have a lighter taste and tasted too burnt
The first coffee i received definitely was more to my taste preference
Amazing! Perfect any way you want to drink it. I even gave some to my friends to try. Please send more!
Exactly what I expected from this coffee. Good, standard French Roast. A classic "fall back" coffee for me. Brews really well with a Kalita Wave pour over, and makes a great, consistent dark coffee. I liked the Noble coffee from my last shipment better, but this still makes for a good cup! Simple and balanced.
This was lovely. A big winner in our house. I would definitely buy this again
This is a very good blend.
Oddly, it had body but seemed to have no flavor; exceedingly innocuous. The first coffee that I have received that I didn't finish.
