This coffee will be fresh roasted for you. We expect Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co. will roast and ship this coffee in 1-2 business days depending on their roasting schedule.
The Milwaukee Rock Star Blend was carefully roasted for you by Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co. Milwaukee Rockstar blend is a blend of dark and medium roasted coffees from South and Central America. It has a full, well-rounded body, with notes of molasses, dark chocolate and black cherry.
Did not like this coffee. Was neither bold (I would call it a light roast) nor full bodied. Had a lingering, almost chemical aftertaste.
Good but dark for my taste
Loved it! Very rich taste! No "froo-froo" taste - just good, bold coffee! Yum!
Absolutely delicious! Fresh and very tasty.
Very smooth and tasty. Not nearly as smoky as I anticipated and the chocolate was definitely just the right amount for my taste. I preferred the taste when course ground.
Prefer a more full bodied taste. Not a favorite.
It was good. It's been a few weeks since I had any of it so don't remember much but that I liked it.
Enjoyed this coffee every morning. Good flavor.
Its been a while so I can't quite remember it in detail. It was a pretty decent coffee.
Really enjoyed this coffee. I could see myself ordering it again.
Pretty good. I like dark coffee but this is a little to dark for my taste
Good flavor and aroma, tastes very clean brewed in my chemex.
Always tasted too bitter
Average, nothing exceptional for our taste buds.
It was a little lighter than I usually drink but had good flavors.
Thought this coffee was delicious; really really good; thoroughly enjoyed it. One of the best coffees I have ever had.
It was smooth but not as full bodied as I like
I did not like this coffee, it has a kind of burned flavor. In my profile I specified medium roast, this was dark roast!
I don't usually drink dark roasts, but this was delicious in my espresso machine. Not too overbearing.
Tasted pretty weak. Maybe i was making it wrong but i felt it wasnt as strong as i was anticipating
Too light of a roast, I will only do dark roast from this point on
Tasted burned. Very disappointed with my first shipment -- I thought I had said multiple times that we don't like dark roasts.
Pleasantly even taste
Tasty medium roast
It was so smooth to drink. I usually have creamer in my coffee, but this I drank black. It was great!
This was lighter and not as smooth.
Had a stronger flavor than the last bag but the flavor was too smoky for me. I also like coffee when it has a cute package since it sits out on my shelf. This one felt a little too punk rock.
An easy drinking coffee, the Milwaukee Rock Star Blend is a balanced roast. That said, I prefer a brighter coffee and this is quite the opposite. As the tasting notes indicate, this is a dark, chocolatey cup, which was consistent smooth though lacking some of the acidity I like in a good cup of coffee. I will say that it was a great breakfast coffee, consistently flavorful (brewed with Chemex).
The flavors with this one are good, yet the chocolate tones don't really come out as much, I feel like I may have over brewed this. I liked it but I would prefer other brands like stumptown or groundworks (evergreen, Bitches brew).
I loved it! It was perfect for me! Very happy!
I really enjoyed this blend! The dark roast had nice undertones that made it bitter, yet still sweet.
András and Jeremy
One of us enjoyed this one -- it had a slightly oilier, darker mouthfeel out of the moka pot, but one of us will occasionally make an afternoon coffee with an Aeropress where none of those issues existed and the chocolate emerged more strongly.
A little flat
It was better than your average grocery store coffee but I have had better. I can't really describe why. Looking forward to my next box!!
Not as flavorful as I'd like
This was fantastic— rich and chocolatey — I ordered more from the company.
Dad and Mom
Just a little too sour for me. Otherwise some nice qualities. Ok for superautomatic.
It is definitely flavorful and blended well with a cashew concocted creamer! By itself, it almost tasted fruity- likely the cherries. I believe I want something with darker notes of chocolate.
A little bitter each way we tried to make it (drip, pour over, french, and aero press).
Decent flavor, was labeled as a medium-dark roast but was on the medium to medium light in effect.
This one was okay. There was something off on the taste that I can't put a finger on.
Very good, not as dark as I would like.
This makes a great cup of coffee! I thoroughly enjoyed it.
it was good but I like more flavor
I can't get it to not be extremely bitter on my Breville Barista Express. Haven't had a good espresso from this bag yet. :(
I like the taste but it could be a little bolder and more French roast
Really liked the chocolate and the roast in general.
My Dad LOVED this particular coffee!
Excellent, very smooth
Good but would prefer a darker roast
Decent cup of coffee but fairly sinmple.
The coffee was good, but not as rich in flavor as I like. The "Strawberry notes " eluded me, but it had a milder sweetness. I'm glad I had a chance to try it. Great gift.
Loved the Milwaukee Rock Star blend! Very rich, nutty and yummy chocolate.
Have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. Thought the dark roast would make it too toasty, but very flavorful and tasty.
Really smooth, but not very flavorful. Brewed as both drip-coffee and espresso.
Its pretty dark, the flavor is very balanced, it leaves my mouth kinda dry. Its ok for an afternoon cup. Honestly its just a little boring :) But I don't hate it.
Too acidic for use in a espresso machine
Hit the nail RIGHT on the head with the first shipment!
Bold, pleasant flavors, without being too dark and lost to my palette of “it all tastes like French Roast at this point.”
Looking forward to more roasts in the medium/medium-dark category!
Too much acidity for my taste but blends well with my darker roasts.
This has been my favorite so far!
too bitter tasting
Chocolate. Its a nice coffee, but a little too dark for my taste
I prefer lighter roasts, usually from African regions
I didn't really enjoy it. I think it might have been the "smoky".
I really hope this did not ship. I did not select this. I did not even set up my account until today, so I don’t know why this states it shipped. I do not drink blends. I only choose very particular lime notes from single origin coffee sources. Please stop this shipment.
I'm over halfway through the bag. It's not bad, but beyond that first cup (V60 Scott Rao method was the best cup I produced, I have used 4:6 as well) it hasn't really appealed to me as much. No success with other methods (Kalita, Chemex, clever dripper)
I don't think the description is accurate. I detect strong citrus right away. Chocolate isn't quite right, more like baking cocoa, with the acidity to boot. It is quite medium and requires more bean to water than my usual ratio, which is a little challenging. There is no smokiness during cupping, but it lingers in the finish like actually having smoked tobacco. I'm not in love with it.
Good neat espresso, accurate flavor profile, body was a little thin
Great for cold brew. Slightly oily for hot brew. Chocolate flavors are great
Great aroma, seemed very fresh. Lighter bean color than I'm used to, but liked the flavor a lot.
Just ok; not terribly rich or dark. Good flavor but not memorable to my taste.
Once I got my brewing method for this one down it was really nice. Slightly smokey and Carmel flavors.
Melissa & Gerry
my first pot i didn't get the water/coffee ratio correct. the next pot was good. flavor was good but not especially exceptional. enjoying it but looking forward to our next one.
Enjoyed this coffee a lot. Definitely started my day off right. Wouldn't call it my all time favorite, but I'd enjoy getting another bag of it.
It was excellent coffee that was sent as a gift. I am used to the darker more oily beans so getting used to a new style takes time.
Jen Hwang &
It tastes too charred for our preferences and definitely not a coffee I would buy again. The chipmunk-ish logo is cute, though.
Chemex: Like the smokiness, sweet finish, and nice aftertaste... don't like the fact that the coffee is a little bland, not super smooth and a little too bitter. I also can't decide if I like the bitterness or not.
Hario V60: Same impressions as before but more nuanced. Still smokey (not sure if I like that or not), a little less bitter, can definitely taste the chocolate notes more which I like.
Really great blend. Used with pour over method. It was smooth, rich with zero bitterness. I drink my coffee black and found myself drinking waaaaayyyyy more than the usual 2 cups a day.
Pre-brew had a nice deep, Smokey smell to the beans. Wonderful aeromatics after the brew - smokey, chocolately, and nutty. The flavor was like a dark chocolate, almond with hints of carmel. Clean finish with little bitterness. A great first coffee!
I really loved this coffee! It was very smooth and rich... the flavor was in my top 5 coffees I've ever had!
I was brewing this with a 24/400 recipe and realized on the last cup that a strong recipe worked much better. 31/400 was pretty nice. I guess this coffee was a little on the weaker side and needed so extra grinds to bring out the flavors. I guess I am struggling here because the boldness, to me means, you could use a weaker recipe.
Very smooth, which I like, but not a very intense flavor...
Smooth, medium roast.
Didn't really enjoy this one. Couldn't get too much on the nose. Spice and heaviness in the taste, which I'm not particularly fond of. Not very complex, or, if so, hard for me to pick up on in heavier bold roasts. Wouldn't buy again, but will still drink it all gladly! Just being picky, considering how many options are out there
Not great flavor for me.
Too watery and light
Mike & Jean
Excellent taste. I will purchase this coffee again.
Darker than I would usually pick but I really loved it! The smell was amazing.
Theresa and Donald
So far we like it. I can taste chocolate, would not say it is bold. Maybe a different grind will help and follow the package directions, for brewing their way.
James and Teresa
Like a little bolder roast
Flavorful; leaves a taste of dark chocolate in your mouth.
Very smooth, I can drink this black. Not acidic at all. It’s not pungent in flavor but it’s mild and very drinkable.
I'm not a huge fan of how heavy the "smoky" flavor is.
This is a dry bean. The coffee has a wonderful dry, burnt taste to it that is lovely and simple. Like a burnt field. Makes for a great mouthfeel.
Made so far with chimed and smooth brew. The notes are not my favorite.
Good fresh roast
Not as full bodied as expected
Taste pretty good.
We did not like this selection. It was earthy and soapy tasting.
Best bag we've received so far. Good bold flavor without that overly burnt or bitterness of a super dark roast.
Really like this coffee much better than the other. The other was too bitter this was more balanced. Next coffee i would love a darker roast tho. Definately do not like bitter. Thanks!!!!
Nice and chocolatey, not too intense.
Easy to drink, smooth, good mouth feel, mild acidity
Good coffee; not my favorite but very drinkable
Liked this better!
smell: fruity/ tart. Taste: bold/strong. dark chocolate aftertaste. bitter initial taste. 9 tablespoons to 1 liter of water.
I love this coffee! It's my new favorite!
I have had hotel coffee that was better.
Good espresso with nice crema. Just a little too smokey for our tastes to make it truly excellent.
Milwaukee Rock Star Blend was good - but not as good as the first one, Kickapoo Coffee Roasters, Driftless Organic Blend.
This one smelled great in the bag, but was a little bland after brewing. There was maybe a little bit too much acidic taste as well.
Was a little to bold for my taste I would enjoy a little less intense
Kind of weak
I enjoyed the notes of chocolate and how well it stood up to a little sweetener. I'd like to try some other coffees with a tad more unique flavors to supplement, but will definitely be returning to the Milwaukee Rock Star Blend and coffees like it.
As my first ‘real’ coffee, I was pleasantly surprised with a coffee that boasts a smoky spice dark roast. Still new to tastes and with not much else to go by, I really enjoyed this coffee. My favorite was how smooth it went down; the taste itself was not outlandish, which I think is beneficial for a starter. I do enjoy a strong coffee flavor, and I think this touched upon that. Rating four stars as a foundation to base future coffee - may need to update later.
Nice nutty flavor!
This blend was OK. Had a little acidity that I wasn't too fond of.
I liked it but would like a little more body
This coffee was a little too dark of a roast for us
Far too weak.
Really enjoyed it. Perfect roast/darkness of beans for our taste. I think ideally we'd like something with a little more of a nutty characteristic to it.
Didn't blow us away -- I think we like a little sweeter to match the smokiness.
We found this bland--not very much flavor at all. Really liked the prior coffee from Dilano's a lot. It was a medium light roast and we felt if it had been a medium roast it would have been near perfect, though did have a nice flavor.
A bit too smoky for our ideal coffee, but good taste.
I did not like this one either
Ii like this one but I like Green Planet a little better
Very nice balance of aroma, flavor and intensity.
A nice round cup. Held up well even as it cool. Roast was excellent, a delicious smooth chocolate, bold flavor
Liked how the beans were not burnt. It has a flat finish. From a beer tasting stand point, this coffe had no beginning or end, it was all middle.
Wonderfully smooth, delish flavor. I will definitely give them more business
I enjoyed the chocolate notes in this one. The milwaukee rockstar wasn't too acidic but had good flavor, which I really enjoy.
Too much of a nutty taste
Great taste. Perfect bodied.
I am usually very particular about drinking coffee straight up, but this tastes best black, in my opinion. Cream and sugar, while it can be good, ruin this one and takes away from the flavor! Love it and have been doing at least two cups a day!
It was fairly muted. There wasn't really any complexity in this one. Would prefer brighter coffees where I can taste all the different notes
Had some acidity that I didn't love, but overall made a good cup.
This was amazing! It smells and tastes great. It is not too acidic tasting either.
Delicious, smooth dark roasted coffee.
Scott and Lindsay
Really not good, this is my third bag from Anodyne and they have all tasted like cardboard. I'm usually happy with any fresh roasted coffee but these coffee's just seem poorly roasted or maybe baked instead
A bit too smoky.
Nothing really stood out in this coffee. It has a full body and some dark-chocolate roast character without being too assertive. I didn't really pick up any "smokiness" and it seems a bit one-dimensional to me.
A bit too acidic
Love this coffee. Very well rounded and full of flavor.
Not very bold. Tastes best as a poor over. French press was not very strong.
good balance medium and dark
It’s okay, but this is not even close to what was requested last tome. I had tried to select a coffee in the brew queue before this was selected but the website messed up on my phone I guess. This will do, but of my three months this is a bummer that one was not catered to my preferences at all.
I liked this one way more than I thought I would!
My husband and I LOVED THIS. We liked it even more than the prior one. We like how it is bold and smoky but still kind of smooth & balanced. Its strong and bold without tasting bitter or burnt.
it was ok - kind of weak and the chocolate taste was mild at best. not my favorite
Didn't like it quite as much as the Green Planet Organic Blend, but still good.
Not strong / bold enough for me
love this blend! my favorite of the two i have received so far.
Although it had good taste, it had no mouth feel. It was thin and did not have a full body. It was low in acid and flat.
to bold and smoky
full bodied with mainly chocolate notes with some spice in the finish. Fortunately, the smokiness was mild and did not overpower. Minimal acidity.
Though good, going forward I want to explore beyond what I know i like. Please continue the chocolate/caramel undertones but with more subtlety of other tones including stone fruit, berries, honey, sugar cane, cherries etc. Avoid sharp citrus tones for now. Keep roast to medium (light also OK)
Anodyne Milwaukee Rock Star Blend is the star of the show. Great taste and feel. Excellent choice for any time of the day. In my top 5.
It's okay. Too astringent for my liking. The first coffee was better.
Thanks Samantha!. Really good coffee. A little darker than the first- if I had to choose I liked the first- really unique flavor palette- but they were both fantastic.
Very good! Not too dark not too light
Very appealing to the tastebuds.
The first coffee was better a little bolder. This Milwaukee'blend is smooth and rich. They are both delicious.
Nice aroma; smooth/clean finish; doesn't stand out as much as the prior two however
It was good, but we prefer something darker and more full-bodied
Fairly balanced roast with full flavors.
I like this coffee
Another great afternoon cup
Michael and Olivia
IMO was very excited for this one after reading about it, however it didn’t quite have the richness we were hoping for. Had a good earthiness and a hint of smoke to it, but was hoping for more rich round toffee/pipe tobacco flavors.
The best! Smooth and rich.
I loved this coffee. It was very smooth with chocolate undertones. It retained it's flavor over ice after a strong initial grind and brew.
liked it better than the others. am not good with gourmet words -- just like or not.
didnt love it.
I t was good. Simple. Didn't find it overly flavorful, but you could smell the smoke.
Tastes like a flavored coffee that my girls would drink with hints of butterscotch. Will have to give this one away. I like coffee that is super dark and the oil runs down your hand when you pour it out of the bag.
Loved this one. Less bitter than the previous, which I was not expecting as the description made it sound darker. Very pleased with this one.
I really enjoyed drinking this coffee - much more my taste! My husband described it as "too strong tasting for him" but i loved it. He likes a costa rican bean that i used to get so not sure it was the smoky part of this coffee he didn't like or whether it was just too bold.
Good, but no extra notes stand out to me in this one.
Pretty good! I like bold coffee flavor without the extra citrus enhancements. I prefer coffee that tastes, brewed, as good as it does in the bag before brewing - I know it's a tall order!
Daryl & Kay
Not as good as the first one. More bitter.
Weak, fairly flavorless. Definitely would not order again.
Excellent flavor with bold taste.
I am not a fan of smoky.
LOVED the flavor! By far one of my favorite cups of coffee
Good subtle taste
Bob and Cindy
Smooth, great flavor. Easy to drink. Will purchase again.
Really good! interesting taste
We loved this compared to the first. Something similar in it's balance would be greatly received for our next coffee.
Thank you for listening to our last comments!
Subtle roasted flavors without the "bite". Nice roast with nutty overtones.
This is the single worst bag of coffee I've ever had.
Edit - looking back over my history, I seem to not like this brand of coffee. No more Anodyne for me please
liked this one, good choice!
Smooth and rich
This is more full bodied than the Sea Breeze, and still has a bit of a nutty flavor, which I enjoy. It's good, but it's not a home run. I'm still looking for a coffee with bit more body to it. Question: does that nutty flavor only come with the lighter roasts?
Hi -- I didn't like this one as much as the Hondura Las Capucas. We found this one to be not as rich or flavorfull.
Pat and Christina
Better than previous blends. This coffee has a funny cocoa aftertaste. Does not have any complexity just a funny aftertaste. We would not purchase this blend.
I have enjoyed this blend.
Really like this one. Just a great blend of flavors!
Nice little blend. A touch dark for my taste.
Excellent choice, very nice in our lattes.
Lloyd & Jeri
Pretty ordinary stuff. Has a dull, flat taste and not a great coffee smell - I can get this kind of stuff at the grocery store.
This coffee is much better than the first batch, the chocolate comes through nicely!!!
I think we liked this a lot more than the first box of coffee!
Dislike. I do not prefer medium to dark roasts
I liked this coffee very much and I also liked the first two coffees I received. They were a nice blend not too strong and a good flavor.
Not sure if I'm double sending this.... sorry if so:
I am thoroughly enjoying this one! I can't give an opinion on the first shipment since my friend accidentally shipped it to an old address, but this has been hitting the spot! I think I tend to like coffees with either citrus or cocoa notes. My all time favorite coffee so far is Murchie's label Mexican Fancy. I am not a big Starbucks fan but do enjoy the Cafe Verona from there. Maybe that will give you an idea of what I tend to like, but it's also fun to try new things too! Thanks for this month's selection & Happy New Year
Good and balanced. Makes a nice cup of espresso. Not as interesting of a flavor profile as some of the other coffee's I have tried.
Nice and easy to drink! Good medium blend with bold flavor.
Mark and Kelly
Super bold but mostly balanced with low acidity just on the front of the tongue that disappears almost immediately. Definitely some strong smokey, cocoa, earthy tones but they smooth out into a great cup of coffee that just lights up the morning. We loved this coffee because it was bold yet really delicious. I could see not everybody wanting such an in-your-face cup of coffee but this is exactly what we are looking for. I could see us stocking up on this as our go to choice!
It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything to get excited about.
So, there's a decent chance that I didn't love this coffee because it took me about two weeks to get it because of some trouble with the post, but this is the first time, barring any breakfasts I've spent with my grandparents, that a coffee has tasted like nothing. I've tried brewing it in a variety of ways, tinkering with my grinder and water temperature, and still nothing makes this coffee taste like coffee. I am pretty relaxed about coffee, but I was super disappointed in this blend. It had no body, as was described, and I couldn't discern any of the flavor notes. Hopefully the next one will be better!
Jeff and Caitlin
Not enough subtlety with our regular coffee maker. A bit better with a cold immersion method, but overall not as good as the first coffee we received.
Loved this one. I could even go bolder!
The rockstar is, by far, the best of the brews to arrive. Earthy and nutty with minimal acidity. The unroasred beans are less aromatic than others but, once brewed, open up to a great flavor.
Charlie and Susan
The Milwaukee blend is really good....nice and smooth.
Better than previous shipment. Unless there is a better choice, we would like it on the next shipment. What are other choices?
I was surprised by this coffee! I normally don't like blends (or Central American coffees), but my first cup of this was really good! The coffee wasn't terribly acidic, and had a full-bodied flavor. I thought it was well-balanced. A flavorful "every-man" coffee that I would drink again. I think the fact that it is blended dark/light gives it a lighter touch than a medium, but also a fuller flavor. I expected the light/dark blend to produce a medium, but it actually comprised the best parts of each roast. The 'smoky spice' note really came out. Probably my favorite blend I've ever had! It wasn't as dark as I thought that it was going to be. Also, the bean itself was dry, as opposed to the previous coffee that had an oily texture (is this the difference between 'wet-process' and 'dry-process'?) The drier bean gave a better flavor in my opinion. This is a good afternoon coffee.
Loved it! Great body and scent. The smoky spice was not overpowering.
just not my specific taste...
A solid coffee, but a little dark for our taste
Not a great coffee. Has a bitter taste.
the bag had a hole in it and the beans were so stale. this was an awful experience.
my favorite so far
Robust and smokey; great blend of flavors
Did not like this blend. Too acidic and not dark enough
Definitely on the lighter end of what I prefer. The flavor was nice and I noticed it paired really well with sweets, but I don't see myself drinking this level of roast regularly. I tried it on aeropress and french press and I liked the aeropress better.
Good cup of joe to start the morning. Nice medium roast balance. Would like morning cup a bit richer with oils.
LOVE IT!!! Great tasting coffee! (packaging was very nice as well!)
ok...not great. Just kind of a standard cup of coffee.
Loved this one!
Not a big fan of lighter roasts but I enjoyed it.
Originally I thought this coffee was too light for me. However, once I dialed in the right amount to brew, I really enjoyed it. The earthy/smoky flavor is very nice, very tasty.
Ken and Vanessa
Smells and tastes horrible. Smoky acidic taste is nasty. I like dark which was noted on my subscription and got sent this. HORRIBLE CHOICE CONNOR!!! After one pot this is going in the trash.
Unimpressed. Even "boring." Would not recommend.
Delicious, smelled great- could have packed a bit more of a punch but still did the job! I noticed different flavors each time I drank it, which is something I love. Would definitely purchase this on my own now. Thanks for the great recommendation Connor!
Awful I like super dark roast this is light too acidic no bite. Smells like nasty mesquite smoke! Vomit!
For those who like a light / medium roast, this is a good coffee- very smooth and balanced. I prefer a much darker roast.
Too light, not much flavor, kinda the opposite of a rockstar.
Rachael & Gabriel
we didn't love this one. it was a little too bitter/acidic for us.
Great chocolate notes. Very smooth blend
I really was looking forward to this coffee because the beans smelt so good, but I've found it impossible to brew. Every once in a while I'll get those rare beans that are a little finicky, and take a lot of precision to get the full flavor, but these are just impossible. No matter the proportion of beans, the fineness of the grind, the amount of time soaking, or the method of preparation, I cannot get this coffee to release the flavor profile it clearly possesses. It's really disappointing and frustrating.
Too weak for our taste.
I thought the smokiness would be weird but I like it!
Far too acidic for me.
A little lighter than I prefer, and a little heavy on the smoky flavor. Not a bad cup and I enjoyed it more when I brewed it a bit stronger, but I didn't love it as much as the last choice I received.
Great coffee. Crisp and a little spice gives off a great aroma. Love starting my day with it.
This coffee smells amazing. For a medium blend, it was good. I like bolder flavors and dark roasts, so this coffee wasn't my favorite. But I would love to try other blends this roaster has. For anyone that likes coffee that isn't too lite or dark, this is perfect.
Prefer a very dark roast.
Rebecca and Colin
Not a fan - I'm not sure if its the spice or the dryness, but even the smell of the beans in the bag wasn't very appealing to me.
I was disappointed in this coffee in that it was too light of a roast when I had requested dark. The beans also seemed old or stale and somewhat sour.
Zina and Jeffrey
I liked this one a bunch
Great morning cup of coffee
Tasty cup of joe
Very strong, but not too bitter. Would purchase again in the future.
Solid coffee, but the smoky spice is a little odd at times.
Was not a fan of this coffee. It should not be in the dark roast category. It actually tasted stale too. Not worth $16. This is not one to make me continue buying from Mistobox. I'd rather buy from my neighborhood roaster.
Not quite bold enough for my taste. It almost tasted weak.
Brewer it a second time a bit stronger and enjoyed the flavor more. Tasted a few chocolate notes
Update: the coffee has grown on me more as drinking it black. It really is quite good. I'll keep my star rating as I know there are a plethora of amazing coffee's out there. First coffee sets the standard. :)
I like it. It's quite different from what I'm use to. Having it Black I'd rate it 3 stars and having it with a splash of milk and a teaspoon of sugar and it's about a 4. Although I'm a black coffee guy mostly. I like the hint of smoothness in there which is what I like when going plain black. Not quite as bold and smokey as I'd prefer, such as a cafe verona type blend. I'd give it a solid 3.5/5 and will continue to enjoy it. I prefer dark and potent blends. This one isn't all that strong in the flavor department for dark coffees but I'd like it as a medium roast. A 3 star is a daily coffee for me. 2 is for a below average "need it now" cup and 1 is the garbage they supply us at work with... which taste like cardboard.
Of course a 4 and a 5 star would be a staple in my coffee drinking.
My Favorite, Perfect !
A pretty well-balanced blend.
We loved this one! So smooth, great flavor, just delicious.
I was not impressed with this coffee. Too light/weak for my taste. Sumatra has been my go to everyday coffee. My favorite so far has been the parisan espresso blend and double dark blend.
I like it. I don't know that I would go out of my way to order it again (a little too earthy for my preference) but definitely an enjoyable batch.
Too light tasting, not rich enough.
Loved the mix of light and dark taste. Great with raw sugar or a little honey, by itself it's wonderful. Shared it with everyone at work- and they all found it very smooth.
This was a great coffee blend, bold but not overpowering.
This one was disappointing. It was more like a ultra light roast than a dark. The beans seemed bland.
Good flavor, but not as strong as we like. UPDATE: Made stronger and this is terrific. But uses up the coffee faster that way.
Although a blend, this coffee drinks like a dark roast, full bodied and rich. I don't seem to get the various flavors mentioned on the label, but still it's an enjoyable cup for fans of dark roast.
Good flavor, just notbdark enough and a little too Smokey for my liking
Personally I loved this, but my wife found it too weak. The flavor is on point, regardless of the boldness, but something with a little stronger flavor, but the same flavor profile, would be excellent.
This one's pretty good but I don't get a lot of smokey notes out of it. Would love to see something darker along that line.
An acceptable coffee, however, not as bold as I would prefer. I would characterize the blend as possessing subtle smokey and spice notes rather than bold.
overall too light for me, but interesting flavors
earthy and balanced red fruit and light cocoa notes
to dry and not dark enough
Delicious deep smokey flavors. I feel like I'm by a campfire. Not a huge fan of the acidity though. Would prefer if this didn't have that zing before the smokey notes hit your nose.
Not bad. Nice flavor
I smelled citrus and possibly sweet chocolate fudge when I opened the package. The medium brown beans were not oily and brewed a rust-colored cup of coffee. This blend is fairly balanced, not overpowering and slightly sweet. I wouldn't consider this a bold roast by any means, but I found the flavor to be unique and interesting.
pretty good but not as bold as we like
This coffee didn't have much flavor to me. It wasn't bad, it just didn't have any distinct flavors. It kind of tasted like restaurant coffee.
