This is the Morning Sun brought to you by Olympia Coffee Roasting Co. This Fully Washed coffee was grown in the Tolima region of Colombia between 1600 and 1900 meters above sea level. We think this coffee is extremely reliable and ideal for your morning filter/drip brewing methods. It also makes an exceptional cold brew as the temperatures rise and you are looking for something to serve over ice.

The coffee was, in general, very mild. After being brewed, the coffee had the kind fragrance that you'd expect from coffee, albeit very mild. The taste was also very mild. Hints of coffee with a slightly bitter dark chocolate aftertaste. Almost no acidity whatsoever.
The mouthfeel was delightfully smooth and improved the experience dramatically. Overall, it was an easy brew to drink but it left me wanting more.
Our French press arrived before the beans and the coffee was noticeably smoother when brewed with the press when compared to the drip coffee maker.
Please feel free to send us something adventurous with the next brew. We would love to try something new, even if we don't end up liking it.

Solid brew. A bit on the darker side and definitely full bodied for a medium roast. Pour over, Chemex, ratio of 16.6:1 with a finer grind. A little on the stronger side for my taste.

Tasted great. Could taste the specific tasting notes. I brewed this coffee via French press, drip and pour over and found that the French press brewed the best tasting cup. I could really taste the hazelnut from this coffee which I enjoyed.

Loved the brightness of it, without it being super overbearing on the acidic, cereal flavor. This is an interesting, bright coffee I feel like I could actually drink regularly without getting _too_ tired of it, though it's still pretty powerful.

Initially I lacked a burr grinder and my blade grinder just didn't give me the grind I wanted. After getting a quality burr grinder, my coffee seemed to have a better quality to it. It still seemed slightly bitter when brewed as recommended.

I enjoy the lightness of this bean with a subtle nut flavor shining though. Velvetly on palate with mild to no acidity. I don’t like acidity in my coffee, as I drink it black. This is wonderful for black coffee drinkers (the only way it should be consumed)

Not the biggest fan. This almost tasted acidic to me. Maybe I prefer darker coffee that tastes dark too. This was definitely smooth though and it did get better the more I kept drinking it. Definitely not my go-to though.

For as good as this smells, I was surprised at how subtle the flavor was. I tried a dozen different combinations of temperature and brew times, but never was wowed by the flavor I was able to pull from it. That's not to say I didn't enjoy it. It always turned out smooth and slightly sweet. When making it iced, I never felt the need to add sugar. Always a pleasant cup. But I think I'm looking for something a bit bolder and deeper. Though I like the sweet undertones, I want the juxtaposition of a dark, smoky roast.

A bit too tangy for my tastes. I don't like coffee that has that much tang and is also light. I like coffee that is robust. I very rarely buy coffee that is that light. I prefer dark and robust. I don't ever want to drink coffee like this again. While it's not disgusting, I don't think this coffee is a good one.

Total noob at this, but my initial reaction was: not bitter/smooth, good cup of coffee, but also struck me as not having a lot depth of flavor . . .?? Did not taste the chocolate, hazelnut maybe, but, again, am new to "tasting" coffee (vs just a tasty/addictive means of putting me in go mode for the day).

Realizing on the first cup that I really don't like darker roasts. I've been loving my beans from a local roaster that recently closed, and they didn't really classify as dark/light, but I definitely prefer the lighter, more complex flavors. Not sure if I'll be able to get through this one.

This was a good cup of coffee, but not all together interesting. Very velvety texture almost like hot chocolate. The chocolate notes were dense once the cup cooled and overpowered all other flavors. Not as dark or full bodied, more of a medium roast with decent profile. Good, not great.

This coffee is excellent for what it is however my profile apparently got mixed up. In the questions I listed a preference for darker roasts and I said I used a French press and a Moka pot not a filter drip system as stated in the description of Morning Sun. In my next coffee I would prefer a darker smokier roast but not to over power the flavor.

I was a bit concerned because it's definitely on the darker side of what I'm used to, but the flavors were incredibly calming and smooth. Definitely not false advertising for this one. I generally prefer light-medium roasts but this was incredible.

I love the name of the coffee and fortunately I enjoyed this coffee very much. I mostly drink iced coffee year round, but I tended to drink this one hot more because of the cold weather still going on in the Northeast. However, I did try this as an iced coffee and was very happy to find this to be awesome. It's been tough to break my Starbucks addiction for being there so long as a customer but also being a partner for the past two years until I left recently. I'm glad to have dived into this one and cannot wait to try other ones by Olympia.

This was a good full bodied coffee and I certainly enjoyed the hazelnut element but the flavor wasn't the strongest (which made it great for a morning brew each day). I would like to try something less morning brew/chocolate flavor and more towards the lighter side/flavor if that makes sense.

So I've been drinking this bad boy for a few days now. Opening the bag and the delicious smell of chocolate and hazelnut was a beautiful aroma. I'm enjoying it a lot so far, but it must be my time working in a coffee house and falling in love with dark roasts that this one isn't dark enough for me. I do recommend this to casual drinkers. I do want to try this iced because sometimes in the past when I've tried some coffee's hot, more often than not the coffee was better iced.

Very well balanced cup of Medium coffee. Not an overly heavy body so it feels lighter than a typical cup of a dark bold roast. You do get light notes of hazelnut and a dark chocolate flavor which is pleasant. There is zero smoke on this bean, which probably is why it feels lighter than you would expect for a “full body”. This would be a delightful daily coffee.

This is very good and I'm really enjoying every cup. Nothing stands out flavor-wise and that's both good and bad. Can a coffee be too balanced? I can drink this anytime, but I could see getting bored with it.
I brew with an aeropress and I have a burr grinder. I brewed 20 grams of coffee (I liked medium grind best) with 200ml of water at 195 degrees. 1 min of brew time, then I added another 100 grams of water.

Nice level of acidity. Chocolate/hazelnut sounds right. A lil fruity: too much further in that direction and I'd not be into it.

This is a very good coffee. I am called a coffee snob, this is a very good coffee that I would buy again. Five star rating is hard to rate properly on a scale of 1 to 10 I would give it an eight which is very very good. Top shelf.

This was a good coffee, a little light for a medium roast. A course grind wasn't able to bring out the full flavor when using a french press. Aeropress with a more fine grind was more flavorful

This coffee was very weak. It did not have a bold enough taste for my liking. I brewed it in a Chemex as well as a drip machine. Neither produced an enjoyable taste. I would like something stronger and bolder tasting.

Great medium / full-bodied roast. brewed both in chemex and aeropress and enjoyed the nuances. I am generally more inclined to less rich/chocolately notes, but enjoyed this nonetheless.

This is a solid cup of coffee. Definitely full-bodied and dark, but without heavy oil. While there is a hint of chocolate, it's not over-bearing. You can definitely taste the hazelnut. I'm happy to have tried it.

Great morning coffee. First time I ground in an antique hand grinder that ground too coarse so it was a bit sour. Used a finer grind next time and it was outstanding. Brewed in a Redline Mk 1

Wouldn't mind it as an every day cup; I loved the sinfully rich notes, made it taste like I was having a bit o' dessert for breakfast. There were moments where the aftertaste was pointier/punchier bean than I like. Like a "HARRGH, here is your punishment for drinking this good stuff!"

This is a lovely coffee. The bag smelled amazing when it arrived in the mail. Really enjoy the delicateness this coffee maintains while being full bodied with nuttiness, chocolate notes and a little bit of fruitiness.
