This coffee will be fresh roasted for you. We expect Barefoot Coffee Roasters will roast and ship this coffee in 1-2 business days depending on their roasting schedule.
This is the The Heavy brought to you by Barefoot Coffee Roasters. This coffee was sourced from Guatemala and the lots consist of Caturra and Bourbon varieties. Big-bodied, bold and rich, The Heavy harkens back to the classic coffee house style with deep roasty notes complemented by flavors of dark chocolate, roasted cacao nibs and vanilla.
I imagine fans of dark roasts might like this. Not great for a subscription to light and medium roasts.
This is an excellent cup of coffee. Thank you for the effort
This coffee is good and I am enjoying it. Though judging from other reviews, I was expecting it to stand out a little more and be darker and bolder than it was. Still, a nice cup!
Didn't like the flavor and it sticks like superglue to the portafilter. Didn't taste any chocolate, or vanilla.
Wasn’t my favorite. Couldn’t quite get the taste to be smooth.
Classic coffee notes, perfect black for dark days and long nights.
This coffee is good...but it’s a little too far into the bitter or “burned” taste for me. I prefer a bold flavor without that bitterness personally.
This was an AWESOME cup of coffee. Just my cup of...coffee. The aroma gets you excited before you even brew, and then you get to taste the really full, robust flavor with a great finish. High marks all around!
Great full flavor
I finished this coffee several months ago and I still think about it.
good flavorful cup of coffee.
I enjoyed this! Interesting smokey and chocolate flavors. I did wish it was a bit darker but still a solid coffee.
Another good experience! The espresso shots had a pretty consistent taste almost throughout the whole batch. The acidity was low and the undertone was leaning toward sweet and bitter side rather than fruity and sour.
Another new favorite - bold yet smooth.
Amazing dark roast!I have brewed this with Chemex, Bonavita auto drip, and DeLong Expresso and it's great.I can taste the chocolate tone and hints of smokyness.,Level of bitterness is mild.
Really a 2.5. It was okay, but not our favorite. It was a little bit harsher than the previous coffee, but still had some good notes.
To start with, this bean smells amazing. The aroma has so much promise of being the best coffee my cup has ever held. With heavy notes of chocolate and subtle hints of vanilla, I could barely wait to get brewing.Using my burr grinder and Chemex, I proceeded to make a cup of The Heavy in my morning ritual. Once the brew was ready, I was able to smell hints of smoke. When tasting the coffee, the smoke flavor became very intense. If I focused hard enough, I could notice the chocolate, but the vanilla was nowhere to be found. Thankfully, the coffee is extremely smooth and goes down without any bitter notes or acidic burning. The smokey taste lingers too long with this one...makes me feel like I've been smoking cigarettes, which is something I do not particularly enjoy.Overall, the flavor was more intense (heavy? big bodied?) than I prefer. Next time I hope to try a bean that is lighter and leaves more of a fruity aftertaste in my mouth.
Dark roast lovers, stop what you are doing and buy a bag of this right. now. This coffee is a masterfully-roasted blend of deep, earthy and intense flavors of cocoa and a hint of acidity that are perfectly balanced by an abundance of natural oils. This is, by far, my favorite Mistobox since I setup my subscription. Five stars!
I love this coffee!! Great taste either as a shot of Expresso, regular or cappuccino!
why oh why did I get this twice?
My favorite coffee so far.
Please stop sending me this shit.
Great flavor! It has a mix of a bunch of different flavors but they all go together really awesome! The beans are tiny, it's cute but they pack a punch. I'm over all impressed with this coffee.
An adequate coffee for espresso, but not ideal for a French press - which delivers a bitter, pale, and underwhelming cup.
Barefoot is very good in general. This is the first time I've tried one of their darker roasts. I really enjoyed The Heavy. Delicious chocolate notes.
I"ve had this one before and it's -okay-. It's not great, not horrible, very 'meh'. I actually prefer the smokier taste of Starbucks coffee to this one, to be honest, as while good the Heavy has decently high acidity and is one of the less distinct coffees I've had from Mistobox.
Wow. This coffee is bold! A little too bold and dark for my liking.
This was the best coffee to date. Very rich and perfect for my taste.
Just a touch of sugar and dairy to counter bitter notes and this is a perfect cup
Very Smooth! Great everyday coffee.
Love the rich chocolate notes, very satisfying cup.. The touch of smokiness isn't heavy, just a tad more than I prefer. Would definitely try a gain.
Good roast. If you like a medium roast full of flavor this is a great choice for you.
Nice chocolatey/peanut butter notes. smooth boddy
This coffee is ok, but not my kind of coffee
I like the chocolate notes, and the darkness of the coffee. This is another I grind slightly on the fine side.
Dark and fabulous!
Very bland, lacking any kind of richness or complexity. Also a very light roast to be called a heavy dark roast. Unsure how this qualifies as dark.
This coffee was fine. But, I didn't find it to be big-bodied, bold and rich, like I had hoped. I felt it was a little more mild (like a typical medium roast).
The coffee wasn't as dark as I thought it would be and the flavors didn't stand out much. Flavor notes was perfect if only it was stronger and I could taste it.
Bold coffee taste but the cocoa nibs still push through. Great body and scent. I was afraid the sweeter notes would be completely masked by the coffee beans, but this surprised me. It's almost like a mocha flavor, except hot.
This was strong on the cocoa nibs taste make it tend towards a "flatter" taste in our opinion. We like the strong flavor; it was better with food than without.
Probably the best of a low scoring bunch but not deep and smooth in flavor. Felt weak and forced.
Awesome coffee, the beans smelled like burnt sugar and the coffee was rich and smooth. I really enjoyed it!
So far this is my favorite. Strong rich perfect morning cup with great flavor
This was my favorite out of the 4. I enjoy chocolate flavors and the blend tastes overall worked well with eachother
Liked the earthiness but a little too simple.
I'm sorry, but this coffee was so bitter to me. I had to pour it out. :(
This blend smelled and tasted like baker's chocolate, which was too bitter and acidic for my taste. I tried blending the brewed coffee with half and half to see if the flavor would improve, but the there was a strange aftertaste, as a result. I could see a coffee purist enjoying this blend, but I found the flavors to be off-putting.
Lots of cocoa nibs and earthy. Not as dark as you'd think given the description, but still a good daily go-to.
a bit bland
Excellent full bodied roast. Wonderful heavy dark chocolate notes with a hint of but and fruit. Personally I still prefer a darker roast but this is wonderful. Drink it with a chocolate don't and you'll think you've died and gone to heaven!
Really disliked this one - not much flavour and what flavour it did have we didn't like
Earthy and nutty with a coca finish. Bold, rich, and smooth. Great blend.
A great smelling coffee - toasted, nutty - with a good flavors that aren't muddied.
great coffee smooth and full of flavor that have not tasted before in coffee. Highly recommend
Not our favorite. It was light, very bright and a bit acidic. Didn't find it to be big bodied, bold and rich as described. Reminded us of drinking tea.
