The Alter Ego was blended and roasted for you by Thou Mayest Coffee Roasters. These pulped natural and fully washed coffees were sourced from Brazil and Colombia. Alter Ego is blended and roasted to be a versatile coffee ideal for espresso and appeal to the everyday coffee drinker. The cup is rich and buttery with notes of chocolate and nuts with a mild, pleasant acidity to balance everything out.
Very smooth, delicious coffee. Strong taste without being too bitter. Great crema. Nuttiness comes though.
LOVE LOVE LOVE
One of my all time favorites! I had some Alter Ego in my mix last year, and this one was every bit as good as the one before.
This was one of the best so far. Exactly what we like in a coffee.
I really enjoyed this coffee! It was beautiful as espresso (I just had to up the grind size a bit higher than usual) and excellent in an Aeropress.
Pretty good, enjoyable brew
Too nutty for my taste
Great, chocolates nutty
One of my faves!
Pretty good, bit nothing special
Didn’t make espresso well. Jury’s still out on making drip but we mostly make espresso
Was very strong coffee. Overpowering, bitter taste.
A hometown favorite - we love Alter Ego and get it all the time in Kansas City at Thou Mayest!
Wifey liked it.
Not bad, but there wasn't much memorable about this.
Of all of the roasts that I have had so far, this has been the best. So rich, and strong flavor.
This was the first mistobox coffee I have had where I just could not get it dialed in for espresso, even when it was new. Shots always came out too short or too long and bitter in either direction. I'm using the same grinder/process/timing that I use for every other espresso blend but I just could not make these beans work.
Really not much flavor. I had to have 4 shots in an Americano to feel like I was drinking anything of substance.
Not the best but not the worst- lacks a robust flavor that I prefer and is more on the light acidic side.
Mellow and chocolatey, good body.
Didn't thrill me.
Loved it! Easily one of my favorites for Espresso so far.
Very chocolaty base with not a lot fo acidity. This coffee by itself would make an excellent base paired with a nat Ethiopian for some added sweetness.
heavy and flat. rated 3 because it is not my taste but isn't bad.
Didn't notice anything that stood out
Did not like this too much
Bold, rich flavor with no bitterness. We love this coffee.
Very tasty coffee, although it was milder than I typically gravitate toward.
Palatable for sure, but a little flat and boring. Not much depth.
Delicious. My wife called it intriguing.
Second batch I received pulled beautifully through the whole bag. Not an aggressive flavor - smooth, rich and chocolaty,
Didn't like this coffee at all. Super bitter - missed the mark. Wasn't able to taste any of the chocolatey or nutty notes due to the bitterness and burnt taste of the beans. First bag of beans I've been really unhappy with at Mistobox.
Lots of chocolate flavors and a lighter roast. Easy drinking and enjoyable as espresso or a cappuccino.
It was good, if a little forgettable. Nothing "wow" about it.
Best espresso we've had to date!
A nice strong coffee with hearty flavors.
Truly a delicious coffee. Very smooth with grape flavor. Would definitely recommend.
Alter Ego is all that it claims to be. The taste is smooth with definite chocolate notes. For those who prefer a less acidic coffee, this blend and roast profile is a good choice.
This was really rich and aromatic without the Tar taste one sometimes gets.
