This coffee will be fresh roasted for you. We expect Camber Coffee will roast and ship this coffee in 1-2 business days depending on their roasting schedule.
The Big Joy was roasted for you by Camber Coffee. Camber's approach is always to articulate sweetness, complexity and body and this coffee is a great example of that. Camber uses Big Joy for all of their milk-based drinks at their cafe and it brews a dynamic, layered solo shot as well. But don’t count it out as a filter option! It will be delicious and sweet brewed with your favorite brewer. Big Joy is a blend of lots from the Huehuetenango and Cobán regions in Guatemala. Together these coffees produce a densely sweet brew showcasing complex sugar flavors and crisp fruit character.
Great bean for espresso. I was able to dial in the grind right away for the perfect crema. The aroma's weren't as bold as I prefer but overall I was very happy with this bean and will return to this one in the future.
Stone fruit (peach?), Complex
Nice and bright in an oat milk latte.
This was fine. Though its character seemed neither rich nor particularly complex. It makes sense that this is used for milk-based drinks. However, 90% of the time I am drinking espresso only, so middle-of-the-road is usually a bit boring.
I've liked all the coffees I've gotten from Mistobox over the years, but this is one of the few that really stood out to me. I would love to try more coffees similar to this one!
Makes great lattes and capps. Sweet and balanced, with good crema.
really great. complex. bright. delicious. best yet
Fruity and tasty. Easy to dial.
This is the best coffee ever
Excellent berry flavor paired well with milk as espresso
Very interesting espresso. Didn't really tasty much of any apple until I added milk and then that seemed to release more of those notes. The berry/cherry ish notes notes come through as a straight shot as the shot cools a little! Chocolate (cocoa nibs?) Was certainly there as well! Very flavorful!
Lots of flavor. Enjoyed as a pour over.
Delicious. Can't get enough of this. The Apple and cherry come through as well as cocoa nibs on the nose.
I don't get the cherry, but the red apple definitely comes through. Would definitely buy again
Mainly wanted to try Peruvian coffee since I visited there a couple years ago. This one's description is accurate! Nice sweet ending tones and great in a latte.
this one is so good - more like this please
It was tasty and nice to wake up to, but it wasn't so interesting that I would buy it again.
It's a good flavor, a little weaker than what I'm looking for but, I'd buy it again.
Honestly, it was delicious but had just a little more acid than my husband likes. Sugar Bee Espresso has set the new standard of absolute favorite so far.
5 stars when it first arrived, 3 when the packet was finished...did not age super well and got very thin and dry tasting
GOOD FLAVOR BUT WEAK FLAVOR
Really enjoying this espresso. 19g grind 38g pour w/ steamed milk (gibraltar recipe). It's really sweet, slight bittersweet chocolate, caramel, they say apple, but I'm getting more of a cantaloupe flavor.
I give this 3.5 stars. I loved the tanginess of the fruit notes, which were most prominent in my first few brews. I felt that it lost some of its complexity the more I drank it, but it was always dependably delicious.
Love this coffee. I really do taste the apple notes. Not too heavy. I've only tried it in French press, not in espresso machine yet. But looking forward to that.
Delicious. Got the apple note and overall it was light/smooth. Mixed great with milk. Using a fully automatic with grinder setting on a 9 out of 12 (12 being finest). This is my first bag from Chamber and I’ll be exploring their offerings further!
This was fantastic with milk, a little too tannic without.
I thought I was going to love this one based on the tasting notes, but I found it far too sweet and syrupy. I brewed it in a chemex and drank it black. Perhaps is meant for lattes...
It was ok. A little too acidic for my tastes.
Great espresso blend
Using a sette 270 and PID rancilio, found this a relatively forgiving roast to dial in. Incredibly tastes of cherries, bright and a bit tart, not overly sweet. I'm getting a lot of cinnamon as well. Really nice as stand alone espresso, I'll try it with milk as recommended, but I think the flavors will likely be overpowered.
Really smooth, balanced
smooth, and bolder which i like. Can definitely taste the chocolate
Complex and rich. Had this in the chemex and I really enjoyed it. Compared to some pour overs the flavor profile was not overly sweet, this has a fruity taste but it is not a bright coffee.
It was just a little too light for Val.
Very rich to start but over time the roast changed to be pretty tart
REALLY enjoyed this espresso roast brewed in our automatic coffee maker. A great way to enjoy this rich blend!
Definitely tart fruity notes. Not a lot of volume when ground, but a fairly easy pull on the espresso machine even toward the end of the bag. Great with milk.
Really nice balance between tart berry and soothing chocolate flavors. Excellent hot or chilled.
Amazing flavor profile. More like this.
Please send this one again
My bag was a blend of two Guatemalan coffees (usually my favorite), not the Columbian/Peru blend currently in the description. The first shots with this were sweet and fruity with a strong metallic aftertaste. With a bit more adjusting the metallic taste faded quite a bit. This works well with oatmilk, which adds a nutty quality. With regular milk it's your average coffee. Sometimes that metallic aftertaste peeks through.
Top tier. Delicious
The Big Joy we received has a different packaging and different description so I hope it’s the same coffee cause we really liked it. Ours is described as “Expresso developed for milk. Guatemala Covandaga & El Regalito Washed”. Also “ Cascarra dark chocolate raspberry”. Totally different description but very good. Not gonna try to give detailed notes cause I don’t get the whole raspberry chocolate blah blah stuff...guess I’m not so sophisticated in my palate. I dink with warm milk and Hubbie drinks black and both enjoyed it.
really nice taste as espresso, full
Very mild, but really good. Wife loves it. Would be overwhelmed by whole milk. Had to grind it very fine, but it pulled a good consistent shot over full bag. Really liked this. Will get this again.
good chocolate notes, hard to pick out other fruit flavors
Decent as an Americano but amazing in milk
Smooth and balanced. Great for lattes.
Great Colombian. Rich, fruity flavor similar to an African coffee.
Not getting a lot of fruit notes, but big on body and chocolate flavors.
I really enjoyed this as a Chemex brew. I picked up the fruit notes, but they faded into a slightly "bitter" chocolate taste - this is the good kind of bitter - I really liked this coffee.
Solid overall but not as balanced as I would have liked. Very finicky to dial in.
Please don't ever send us this coffee again. This is second time we got it, and I gave it one star last time too!
