The Black Dog Espresso was blended and roasted for you by Goshen Coffee Company. This blend of natural and washed coffee was sourced from the growing regions of Cerrado, Mogiana, and Bugisu in Brazil and Uganda. They were produced by the Sipi Falls Coffee Project and smallholder producers between 1,100 - 2,500 meters. The cup is luscious with a full body and notes of cocoa and honey.
Cerrado, Mogiana, Bugisu
1100 - 2500
Bourbon, Mundo Novo, SL-28, Blue Mountain, Yellow Bourbon
Yes, this one was amazing. Full bodied and smooth.
Maybe a little too dark for me. Made it as a drip and as espresso. I liked it more as a drip, but not even that much. As an espresso I think it had too much bite. I think I'm figuring out that I like light-medium roasts, and coffees with floral or citrus notes. Still trying to figure it out!
Nice espresso coffee
This one wasn’t for us
This is the first coffee i've had where you can actually taste notes of honey! The cocoa is nice. Just wish it was a little more bold. It can seem a little weak, which plays nicely with milk, but not as an americano / long black. Liked it though!
Great coffee -- was not as well loved straight (though still excellent), but in milk it was divine! Unfortunately I burned through this bag about 2x quicker than the others because it was just so tasty
really liked the fullness of this one
This blend was fine - not terrible, but not jaw dropping either. Just fine.
Decent espresso. I wasn't able to discern really any of the flavors. However I wasn't disappointed in the product either.
I would consider looking at the brands other options in the future.
It’s was a alright cup
Doesn't seem full bodied to me, seems too citrus/sharp for my taste.
Delicious coffee! beautiufl chocolaty notes!
Much better than the previous batch!
I have received 3 bags of Black Dog. The first was 2-weeks old when it arrived, the replacement bags was also 2-weeks old, and the most recent delivery was 3-weeks old. The beans are dry, making the pull-rate is fast and uncontrollable, even as I continue to make the grind finder. Bitter taste and long, unpleasant after taste. No more Goshen for me!
I liked it but i would have preferred more flavor
Far too earthy for our taste. Maybe our least favorite ever.
Makes a nice mellow espresso.
decent brew, enjoyable notes.
This one arrived the day before we contemplated adopting a puppy. My wife was not sure that she wanted a black dog (we used to have a black lab mutt), but when Black Dog espresso arrived we knew it was a sign!
more of a mud-taste than anything. Not impressed with freshness either.
Ok, but dont care to have again
Tried to bring the best out of this espresso, but never got there. Not a bad blend, but nothing outstanding.
Very smooth espresso. No bitterness.
Loved this coffee. Sweet, thick, and creamy when fresh. Some lemon tartness balanced a full-bodied caramel cup.
One of the best so far
Loved this one!
Too dark for me.
This was a good cup of espresso but for some reason a little hard to keep dialed in well. I would get a great shot followed by a bitter one, not sure why.
Very light but not much taste.
Flavorful & smooth.
It was a little acidic tasting? not sure how to describe it. it tasted a lot better when we added milk.
It smells like fresh toast from the other room.
Bland and low caffeine content
Decent in French press, horrible as espresso. Experimented with grind size, but could not get rid of sour taste.
I really liked this espresso! It was right up there with Stumptown Hairbender as my usual go-to
Great...also tasted notes of tart cherry!
Enjoyed the full bodied favor, but though the blend tasted too astringent.
Self-described as "Luscious". I agree. Great cocoa flavor. The honeyed aspect adds the perfect touch of lightness to this espresso. Bravo!
Great with some cream.
Best Espresso coffee yet!
Smooth and creamy through the whole bag. Really great
Great coffee but notes are not so strong.
Excellent! Maybe it's the weather but I"m digging this.
