The Waxwing was blended and roasted for you by Red Rooster Coffee. Waxwing is a custom blend of Fully Washed coffees from Colombia and Honduras. Developed as all purpose blend, this coffee is a great option for both espresso and filter coffee.
This was a fantastic coffee. I absolutely loved the flavors and it's perfect for a smaller cup in the mornings or the afternoons.
I will say, despite how much I enjoyed it, it was just a bit too dark and bitter for me.
Didn’t like this one at all, would not order this again.
I hate caramel and this made me me change my stance on caramel. My husband and I love this coffee.
This one was earthier than I generally like (although, i suspect many will, especially around the Holidays). I thought the aroma was off-putting too. HOWEVER, as suggested in the description, I tried it finely ground in my expresso machine and it made a very good expresso.
I loved this one. fruity and light. Just right.
I liked the slightly more sweet notes in this blend. Made for nice milk based espresso drinks
Not robust enough for my preferences. It was good, but could have been fuller-bodied. Not as roasty as I would have liked. More standard cup of coffee.
Not dark enough.
Pretty good -would still like more full bodied
Came off a bit bitter for my taste. Wasn't horrible but also not the best.
Not fully bodied and tasteless.
Favorite so far
I love how rich this coffee is. It smells chocolaty which I really enjoy.
Solid everyday coffee, which trends slightly bitter.
Good but a little too bitter for me.
Really tastey, dark chocolate and nutty…great body and crema, lacks a little complexity but very good “comfort food” blend.
Really nicely balanced roast, not too light or too dark.
Good but I got tired of it before the end
Enjoying this one a lot whether it's in our drip coffee maker or in the Bialetti moka pot.
OK when using 20g, but not as much flavor as I’d like.

tasty and chocolate tasting - like the overall taste
Nothing to write home about. Wouldn't get again.
Solid good easy drinking French press
It smells great but the flavor seems light. It grinds well but I’m not enjoying this one as much.
Perfect balance, not bitter at all, very smooth
Flavor profile was spot on. Liked every cup
It was a solid coffee, bitterness was reduced with oat milk and a coarser grind. Overall pretty good.
Can taste the coffee flavor but doesn’t seem too bitter
just not for me
Flavor was okay but roast was a little light for my taste.
Not my favorite. To dark
Pretty good, better warm. Crisp and nutty.
Best coffee tasted in awhile. Love it.
Great but the darkness was not my style
I know that Red Rooster is a VERY light roaster (they are relatively local to me), so I was hopeful that since it was a medium dark by their standards it would be my 'normal' light roast. It was definitely better than a previous light roast from RR, but the darker notes (the caramel and chocolate) were still hard to discern.
He liked this one, I don't remember this one.
100% my new daily coffee
Not as full-bodied as I like...merely OK
Loved the medium dark blend. Always wanting something in the middle of medium and dark and this was it!
It’s good, but a little nutty.
It definitely has a strong, bold flavor.
I love the packaging!
did not receive shipment
Nice cold brew
Good full body taste
Pretty good, again no complaints
Maybe it was just the somewhat darker roast but didn't care too much for this one. Definitely picked up on the chocolate notes.
Brewed in the Ratio 8 coffee maker. 55g beans, medium grind (22/40 - Baratza Encore). 1.2L of water.
This is the kind of coffee I'm always looking for. It has bold flavor without being to dark.

It tasted fresh, but something about the flavor profile both me and my wife did not just Love.
aeropress: kind of..boring(?) not as flavorful, not that rich.
This was just ok. Bitter earthy. Had a burnt aftertaste that lingers. Like burnt Carmel but not in a nice way.
Have only used for espresso so far. I'm not getting the chocolate or the caramel flavors, it's very bitter (but not in such a way where I brewed incorrectly). I'm excited to try this as a pour over or cold brew. It goes well with milk. I think maybe I like my coffee a liiiiittle bit brighter. We'll have to see!
This coffee tastes delicious. Well balanced.
Very acidic. Lots of citrus flavors, not at all what I'm looking for.
Very delicious and smooth! Easy to drink black.
Rich flavor - loved it

Not very good
I really enjoyed this coffee. A note for my curator, keep sending these yummy chocolate, Carmel full bodied coffees
Great aroma, full bodied, clean, well-balanced,
We really liked this one. One of our favorites
One of the best yet!
I really enjoyed the flavors in this coffee and it was well balanced. Very smooth and a repeat coffee purchase.
I found this a little weak in taste
A bit on the sour/acidic side.
This was a really good coffee. It was smooth and easy to drink with good flavors. However, there was a strange aftertaste that I didn't enjoy that much.
Very smooth, no unpleasant aftertaste
Seems somewhat bitter to my untrained pallette.
Great cup of Coffee, smooth and mellow while also complex
This was one of my favorite coffees so far. It had an interesting sweet, caramel taste, no bitter notes.
Not as smooth as I hoped
Second only to the daytripper so far of the coffees we have received
A standard diner blend. Not memorable, not terrible.
One of my favorites that 've gotten.
A delicious full-bodied coffee with the caramel notes coming in strong! It also got to us within one day of roasting which was unbelievable
This was pretty good, but not amazing in espresso
loved this one
I like the chocolat-ey flavor, but I would like more stronger, thicker taste. I can't taste the caramel as much.
