The Kenya Kiganjo AA was carefully roasted for you by Tony's Coffee. This fully washed coffee was grown by small holder producers in the Kiambu region of Kenya at 1,600 meters above sea level. The cup has a lively grapefruit acidity with a deep and rich sweetness that reminds us of molasses.
This is more what I was looking for except I am not a big fan of grapefruit and I feel like I can taste this quite a bit in this coffee. It seems pretty acidic to me but that might be the grapefruit taste. I see that the coffee description says it has some acidity. I think I lean more on the sweet side, which seemed to be lacking for my taste buds. I think I am looking for something sweet, smooth with lots of flavor. Did some further tweaking today. I read that sour coffee needs longer extraction times so I reduced the grind size significantly and let the kettle water sit longer before preforming the pour over. The sour taste was gone and there was a smoothness to the coffee this time.
I like it’s lighter body, acid front and prevailing sweetness.
I was really pleased when I opened the bag of coffee for the first time. This coffee has a pleasant nose. I brewed at a 1:20 ratio, which was a little too diluted to my taste. Will adjust, but very promising.
Adjusted the brew ratio and I was over the moon with this coffee. Exactly my type of notes! Great pick!
I love the complexity.
Loved this one! One of my favorites so far.
Pretty nice. I didn't get any acidity or fruit, though. A little bit too mild, but not at all bad.
Very bright and acidic. Predominant citrus notes.
Nice, but not my favourite
Very good. A little mellow until dialed in. I'm always impressed with Tony's.
Very clean and bright! I would maybe like it to be slightly more acidic but over all great coffee
