Brandon
Fantastic smell. Even better taste.
12/13/2019

Dan
smells almost stale
11/13/2019

Susan
Left a bitter aftertaste. Weak coffee.
11/1/2019

Jason
Just ok. A little bitter. Beans don’t seem as fresh to me as others I’ve received.
10/13/2019

Ryo
Good, but didn't enjoy it as much as I though it would be.
9/21/2019

Matthew
I've really enjoyed this coffee quite a bit. It has an excellent balance (to my taste).
9/8/2019

Anthony
Wonderful. Just wonderful in general
8/24/2019

Mark
Earthy, with a low acidic finish. Good honest cup of coffee.
7/11/2019

Eric
Very good overall, but lacking any particularly distinguishing notes that would make me come back to it.
6/26/2019

Sara
Evaluated as espresso. Very orange citrus forward. Too much citrus for me, but does have chocolate as well. I prefer berry or stone fruit flavors or less citrus flavors in my coffee. I could not detect the brown sugar other than a nondescript sweetness.
6/4/2019

Ian
Subtle flavors, very smooth!
5/25/2019

Robert
Delicious. Best one yet.
5/9/2019

Christine
For some reason, I wasn't into this one. Maybe too citrusy?
5/7/2019

Andrei
really enjoyed this one. I'd still say the one before this (the DCR) has been my favorite but this was a great follow up and I'm liking this fruitier lighter coffee.
4/28/2019

CHRISTOPHER
It's not a bad coffee, but it's not a great one either. Nice body, but there isn't much else to it. I'm more a fan of fruitier coffees.
4/28/2019

Matt
This was an ok cup for me. There was no stand out flavour or aroma, but it was pleasant. It was very well balanced with no discerning features. Nothing that I loved or hated about it. I could have this as an everyday coffee where it wouldn't clash with any sort of breakfast/dessert.

I think I will try to make a cold brew with this bean to see if that works well for a refreshing light drink.
4/19/2019

Marcella
Very smooth and nice settle hint of the citrus. We really like this one.
4/13/2019

Michael
Visually seemed like it would be a lighter roast, but it turned out full-bodied and rich. On the strong-flavored side. We would absolutely order again.
3/28/2019

Mitchel
a bit lighter, easy to drink. Not huge on fruit/berry flavors but nice floral aroma
3/25/2019

Steve
Good one!
3/9/2019

D Joel
Sturdy, balanced and clean. No clear citrus notes popped out for me.
2/27/2019

Carl
2/13/2019

Alex
I haven't especially enjoyed Brazilian coffees, and this one didn't win me over. It's flavor is subtle, earthy, slightly acidic or citric.
2/6/2019

Brian
A little too dark for my liking. It's fine but doesn't have any nuanced notes!
1/31/2019

Aaron
Good flavor clarity, and light
1/25/2019

John
This is good. Best yet.
1/19/2019

Julian
Less citrus/acidity than I prefer
1/13/2019

David
Butterscotch came to mind. Interesting to see caramel above. Had that thought too.
1/12/2019

Michael
Nothing too good or bad. No flavors too noticeable.
12/27/2018

Cameron
Definitely a great coffee. Not as flavorful and bright as other ones I've tried
12/12/2018

Alberto
Loved the citrus flavors, wasn’t overpowering at all. It was thin bodied and had a loverly after taste.
11/26/2018

Erik
very smooth and has a great mouthfeel
11/20/2018

Joey
Wow. I think this is my favorite coffee that I’ve had so far. So smooth and rich. Loved this so much.
10/31/2018

Shane
Couldn't get much fruitiness
10/30/2018

Kyle
Just ok. Good to get something out of my comfort range.
10/22/2018

Jorge
10/9/2018

Tyler
It's a little more bitter than we like.
8/8/2018

James
My least favorite that I have received so far. It doesn't taste "bad", but pretty bland overall. I can't pick up any citrus flavor.
7/29/2018

Caitlin
Very good.
7/25/2018

Aidan
Quite tasty!
7/20/2018

Ethan & Adrienne
Not a terrible coffee, but nothing great about the overall taste.
7/6/2018

Cameron
Not my favorite, and I had to play around with the right way to brew it and reduce the acidity.
7/5/2018

Brandon
Meh.... It was ok but this did not really shine through for me.
6/25/2018

Haolan
One of my favorites
6/18/2018

Amanda
It’s a basic, good coffee. I like the subtle ness of orange and I like it better iced with a tsp of brown sugar and a splash of cashew milk. It helps bring out the sweetness from the natural process and is refreshing on a hot summer day.
6/13/2018

Elizabeth
I liked this a lot pretty smooth but still packed with lots of flavor
6/10/2018

Ken
Good level of roast. slight citrus notes
6/9/2018

Michael
Initially it was nice, but depreciated very quickly and didn't like it halfway through the bag.
5/28/2018

Tammy
We enjoyed this coffee.
5/26/2018

Zachary
I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I haven't had any Brazilians that I've liked until now. Very, very balanced.
5/11/2018

Jesse
Ok. Very Light
5/9/2018

Amy
Best coffee we've had from mistobox. Great depth of flavor while also being delicate and brewed well across multiple brew types.
5/6/2018

Randy
Tasty but not my favorite.
4/28/2018

Deborah
We used it only for espresso drinks. It made great drinks with milk and held up in hot and iced lattes, but also a wonderful espresso shot: well-rounded and with a nice crema.
4/23/2018

John
To earthy
4/16/2018

Athar
This one is excellent! Manages to provide a good citrus notes without being overpowering or bitter
4/10/2018

Jessica
Not a fan
4/9/2018

William
I really enjoyed this coffee. It had a great full body to it and was a very smooth coffee. Enjoyed the citrus aspect of it along with the caramel/ chocolate taste. Would really enjoy trying some mor fruity/floral coffees though to learn how I like them compared to the chocolate ones.
4/6/2018

Jessica
It is fairly balanced, though with our water we found too many roasty characteristics for our liking.
4/4/2018

TIMOTHY
very smooth and citrus
4/1/2018

Westin
Was able to pull out the citrus and brown sugar notes, but wasn't wowed by the complexity of flavors.
3/29/2018

Stepheny
My favorite mistobox shipment so far! It's incredibly well-balanced with fruity and toasted sugar notes. I'm a big fan.
3/26/2018

Mark
Well balanced coffee. Just to my liking.
3/17/2018

Daniel
Super smooth, great coffee.
3/16/2018

Austin
excellent
3/11/2018

Tristan
Had a difficult time finding a cup that wasn’t muddled. Attempted many brew styles and none sat that well with me - I’d give this a pass next time.
3/7/2018

Jasmine
Solid medium coffee. I didn't taste much citrus acidity, but it was good.
2/27/2018

Devon
This coffee is rad but is there a roast that is btw this klatch and carahino as far as boldness? That would be the sweet spot. I wouldn’t mind more chocolate notes if possible
2/24/2018

Danielle
This was not my favorite. I felt like it lacked a fullness that I liked and was a little bitter.
2/18/2018

Drew
Really enjoyed this. Came off bright and complex without being too bold or heavy
2/17/2018

Deborah
4 1/2 stars. This is my favorite coffee so far. Very easy drinking, nice and smooth. I definitely get the orange blossom and brown sugar notes.

I'm a hard grader - I'm saving five stars for a coffee that blows me away. I have high hopes for the Night Moves that is coming next!
2/13/2018

Trevor
Loved this one!
2/12/2018

Kristine
Loved this one! Nice and smooth and rich.
2/11/2018

Renee
This was a good quality coffee but I didn’t enjoy it as much as my previous roast.
2/11/2018

Karen
This is a good coffee but a little "light" for my taste. It seems that it isn't as strong as other flavors when I use the same number of scoops. I like it--it's not bitter or harsh. However, I wouldn't make it a first choice.
2/9/2018

Kate
Good except the citrus flavor, not my fav profile.
2/8/2018

Matthew
I taste more caramel than citrus, but it was a nice balance of being roasty without being too dark and light without being too acidic
2/7/2018

Tara
We enjoyed this coffee. We brewed it as a pour over. At times, I could distinguish the caramel or the chocolate flavors more and I wasn’t as big of a fan of those. However, overall it was smooth and quite tasty.
2/7/2018

Christopher
Coffee was way darker than advertised and both tasted and smelled ashy.
2/6/2018

Christopher
Great coffee. I enjoyed the floral aroma. The dark sugar/caramel flavors were good. I would like to see more fruit forward coffees.
2/6/2018

Don
Great coffee that is very well balanced. Small citrus notes balance the caramel flavors. Some chocolate notes were the only flavor I was missing.
2/6/2018

Daniel
Straightforward. Did not get the citrus notes but it was mainly used in espresso. Did not cut through espresso particularly well.
2/3/2018

John
I like this. balance is great. Def my speed. Thanks!
2/2/2018

Victoria
Smooth, perfect for french press morning coffee! The flavor is pleasing and not overwhelming. I'm really enjoying it!
2/1/2018

Matt
This was really enjoyable. The caramel seemed pronounced providing a rich flavor.
1/31/2018

Christine
Love this coffee! Might be my favorite. So smooth.
1/31/2018

Lance
Loved the flavor profile
1/25/2018

Randy
Love the sweetness and citrus. Smooth and balanced with a long finish. Excellent.
1/25/2018

Andrew
We enjoyed this quite a lot more than the first coffee we were sent. Overall, a very nice coffee. The roast level was good, and it was quite balanced and smooth. It could have used a bit more nuance in the flavors and maybe some brighter flavor notes (if that is a correct description), but over all, very good.
1/24/2018

Jack
Good taste but a bit too weak
1/21/2018

Kaitlyn
It was slightly over roasted.
1/17/2018

John
Loved this coffee. It changed the way I think about Brazilian coffee. The light roast was perfect and allowed for the citrus to really come forward. It was a nicely balanced cup though, leaving behind the light chocolate tones.
1/8/2018

David
So far this one was my favorite
1/7/2018

Vickram
This coffee is quite nice, the caramel flavor really comes through and with some coaxing I also get a nice hint of citrus on the finish. I am quite happy with this, but it comes out bitter with my brewing method. I will probably adjust some things and enjoy this even more.
1/6/2018

JOSH
Very ok cup. Brewed in my clever coffee brewer and didn't get much nuance. Ok cup, more full body, and no citrus at all. I like to have more subtleties in my coffee.
1/6/2018

Tim
Excellent. Perfectly balanced.
1/4/2018

Matthew
Solid. Nothing spectacular, but solid.
1/2/2018

Nikki
Good, but a little on the dark side for my taste.
12/27/2017

Amanda
Too bitter and light
12/27/2017

Michael
First impression is the coffee is much better than my first coffe.

I liked the roast level - medium style coffee.

Flavors - the flavor profile was a lot more balanced than the first coffee

Coffee Characteristics - I like how smooth this is
12/20/2017

juan
By far the best one I've had thus far. Keep them coming like this.
12/15/2017

Matt
I found this coffee to be quite weak in flavor overall using my normal pour-over grind size (hario). I was able to detect the citrus which was nice, but it was very faint. When I tried grinding the coffee more finely (closer to aeropress) I got more flavor but lost the citrus notes. My previous coffee despite being darker than I prefer was better quality and had better flavor overall.
12/14/2017

David
Much too mellow, I need something bolder
12/14/2017

Ryan
Hi Connor!

Great choice, i loved the smell of this coffee, just incredible. However the taste was a bit bitter, compared to the first one as I prefer a smoother tasting coffee and brew mine a little bit gentler.
12/13/2017

Adam
It was ok. It wasn’t as light or flavorful as the last one. It said it had notes of citrus but I didn’t pick up on that. I don’t mind medium roasts as long as they are still on the lighter side and have a nice floral or fruity flavor profile.
12/13/2017

James
This is nice and soft flavor. Carefull, this roast was prone to turn to powder on me in my hand grinder. I will be trying coarser grinds.
12/13/2017

Lissan
I really enjoyed the initial richness of the chocolate notes and the citrus finish. This roast was rich but also refreshing, didn't leave a lingering heaviness in my mouth and wasn't too acidic which is perfect for my tastes.
12/12/2017

Benjamin
Excellent. A strangely delicious dessert coffee.
12/12/2017

Michael
I liked the smoothness of this coffee and I could see why it's tagged with having a caramel aftertaste. But for my next shipment I'd like to try a bolder flavor, either one that's more acidic or one which has more intense flavor notes.
12/12/2017

Barry
This is. Good coffee, balanced, but not as bright or flavorful (full bodied?) as last week’s. Didn’t care for it the first time I tried it, but it grows on you.
12/11/2017

Amir
Just threw this in the chemex and love it!
12/9/2017

Lisa
Wow! This coffee was smooth, opened beautifully, and both smelled and tasted great. Not too big or acidic, extremely tasty. One of the best coffees we have had. Will likely seek this coffee again in the future. Brewed in the clever dripper.
12/9/2017

Robert
Really solid. The coffee is more muted for flavor than the Day Tripper that we started with. But I am able to make consistently good coffee even with my variables changing more than I like. I am getting a small amount of the citrus and want to try and get more of it.
12/7/2017

Caren
Hi Samantha,

I liked this one! Compared to the first coffee received, I felt this one had more depth of flavor. And the aroma in the morning was wonderful!
Is it possible to include a decaf for one of our shipments?

Thanks,

Caren
12/5/2017

Chirag & Uma
Good balanced coffee, with a subtle hint of citrus.
11/24/2017

Benjamin
An enjoyably smoothe cup of coffee overall. Milk chocolate and citrusy notes. Lingering acidity. I have a tendency to lean towards coffees with chocolatey and nutty notes but am more than open to experiencing what else MISTOBOX has to offer. I have also had a tendency to lean towards medium to dark roasts. I’m finding that I’m enjoying light to medium roasts even more so.
11/23/2017

Erik
Easy to pull solid espresso shots.
11/21/2017

Karthik
We love this coffee. It's mild and well balanced. Not at all sour.
11/21/2017

Levi
In the words of Public Enemy- don’t believe the hype. Tried everything I could to pull out as much flavor from this coffee as possible but it just wouldn’t budge. Very one sided coffee. Looks great and all but the taste just tastes like regular ol coffee. If you’re just going for something in your drip then this would be a good one, but I wasn’t diggin it on pourover.
11/20/2017

Memo
Not crazy about citrus aromas in coffee in general
11/18/2017

Norman
The overall flavor profile of this variety was a little more nuanced than I am used to, but it was pleasant to drink. The acidity was apparent on the finish but it was mild as described.
11/18/2017

Shana J
a bit on the weak side for me
11/15/2017

Adam
Our favorite so far!
11/10/2017

Tyler
I thought this coffee made an ok cup. It wasn't anything spectacular. Pour over was mild and lacked flavor. The saving grace was it had a pretty nice flavor (citrusy) when pulled from the espresso machine.
11/7/2017

Christopher
Description was on point in regards to the medium body and the mild citrus acidity, but I found the overall effect of the taste "hollow" and left more to be desired. Perhaps this was due to the fact that I was using a hand drip instead of an espresso machine.

FYI I intend to switch to cold brewing my coffee due to my schedule so maybe something that would steep well for the next batch?
11/5/2017

Robin
A little too light for my taste. The only discernible note for me was chocolate, didn't pick up any citrus at all.
11/4/2017

Michael
This was a well-balanced coffee that worked well across all brewing methods. On Eva Solo, it did come out lighter than expected. Solid on the ceramic dripper from Bee House. Highly recommended for a go-to.
11/2/2017

Kevin
Wonder full brew. It lived up to it's description
10/31/2017

Jocelyn
Love this one! Definitely got the caramel notes.
10/28/2017

Matt
Klatch Coffee delivered a chocolaty, sweet Brazilian to our doorstep. The initial taste brings you the earthy, medium body that you'd expect from a Brazil. However, the surprise occurs during the sweet finish. I don't remember the last time I tasted a Brazil that sweet. I didn't pick up on much of the citrus. However, that could have been a result of the brew method. Klatch's Brazilian was good. (3 stars for preference, not quality of bean)
10/26/2017

Tashunda
Very smooth coffee. I would have liked to have tasted a lot bit more of the citrus notes that this coffee claims to have.
10/24/2017

Daniel
Very good balanced flavors. Very picky with brew time, however.
10/21/2017

David
Had first cup using Chemex with filtered water to brew. Enjoyed the taste.
10/20/2017

Diana
we liked the single origin :)
10/18/2017

Melissa
Full, rich taste with chocolate and brown sugar notes. A hint of orange flavor really brings out the chocolate. Light acidity, medium mouthfeel.
10/14/2017

Yeh
nice daily coffee!
10/3/2017

Patrick
we really liked the finish on this cup
10/3/2017

eric
Fantastic coffee. Another great coffee from Brazil. I liked it best brewed with french press. Great with or with out milk. I found it had a bit of honey sweetness in the taste as well. Delicious medium roasted magic.
10/2/2017

Dawn
This was one of my favorites. I would not mind having this one sent to me again. I enjoyed the aromoa, taste and the sweetness.
10/2/2017

Jacob
Very good
10/1/2017

Mitch
I was really expecting to love this coffee, definitely seems right up my taste alley, but it underwhelmed. It wasn't bad, not in the slightest, but I just couldn't get any flavors to pop. I tried different brew methods and recipes, but just couldn't get this dialed in to where I wanted it. Odds are this is user error rather than a true judgment on the coffee itself!
10/1/2017

Cathy
It was alright. Nothing to write home about.
9/28/2017

PC
I love the roast on this. It was not too dark nor was it too light. I do like the sweetness of the profile, but I do prefer more berry in my profile. I do like a sweeter profile than the nutty profile of others, and this coffee had a great sweetness. The only thing that would be a dial in to my "sweet spot" is if the profile had a stronger berry to it.
9/25/2017

Nicolas
I really liked the citrus addition to this-- when brewed with lower steep time (2:30 for 400g) it really hihglights the citrus against a backdrop of chocolate.
9/25/2017

Matthew
Unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of this one. It was too dark for my tastes, and there weren't very many layers to it. It tasted "thin" if that makes sense. I was able to draw out the citrus flavors after some tinkering using a kalita wave, but the flavors were still rather weak compared to other coffees I've had. For the most part, it just tasted like plain medium roast coffee. I'd prefer a lighter roast than this one, with more layers, and more pumped up flavor notes. Hope my notes were helpful, and thank you!
9/22/2017

Stephanie
Love the mild acidity and the hints of brown sugar
9/20/2017

Tony
Amazing. Truly 2 coffee flavors one followed by another..... light citrus followed by rich deep coffee. Unreal.
9/13/2017

Amanda
I like a clean, bright, citrusy or floral coffee, but this went beyond "clean" to being simply weak. There is little flavor here -- the first cup I brewed really tasted just like hot water. I would not like to receive this again.
9/12/2017

Sim
It was okay, but didn't love it.
9/12/2017

Michael
Not may favorite. Didn't taste as "Premium" so to speak.
9/11/2017

Bomin
Not bad, but not great. Was not the most memorable of coffees
9/11/2017

Rosemary
Great crema from espresso, smooth with some acidity. Would prefer more acidity from a lighter roast with more fruit flavors.
9/10/2017

Benjamin
Pretty good, just didn't get me excited. To be fair, I ran out of pour-over filters so I've been french-pressing. The smell of the grind is unreal good though.
9/8/2017

Lorin
This coffee seems very bitter and burnt tasting. It kind of reminds me of something that Starbucks would sell, and that's not a good thing. We don't drink Starbucks at all. It leaves a strong aftertaste and a dry mouth. Maybe roasted too
Much? Definitely one of my least favorites that I have received. Brewed in a French press.
9/8/2017

George
Nice.
9/7/2017

Evan
good stuff! I've been on a moka pot kick recently, and this coffee delivered a very good cup. It was a little too much on the acidic side, but not much to complain about. I wish I was better at picking out the more complex flavors, but I can say I enjoyed this coffee
9/7/2017

Murphy
Smell seemed stale upon opening, taste was also disappointing.
9/6/2017

Chris
Roasty and Peanut-Buttery at best, this batch of Brazil Black Diamond by Klatch Coffee did not live up to the award-winning promises touted on the side of its bag. Even after several trials of different brew ratios and grind settings, this coffee did not offer much sweetness or nuance. We wonder if our bag had a sealing defect, causing early staling and inhibition of flavor characteristics. It had only been 4 days since roast date by the time we opened and brewed it.
9/6/2017

Jason
That was fantastic
9/3/2017

Scott
Burnt-tasting and a bit bitter for my tastes.
9/2/2017

Aaron
Can't get any sweetness or acidity out of this. Medium+ body makes it feel muddy and bitter in the mouth
8/30/2017

Darlene
This one was the best one so far!!!! Keep more of this kind coming!!!
8/29/2017

Stephen
This was a good coffee, but the flavor was nothing special. Very plain, but still solid.
8/29/2017

Alex
This coffee isn't bad by any means, it's just a little plain. Typical nutty and chocolatey Brazilian coffee with a hint of acidity. The aroma is really nice but the flavor itself doesn't match it.
8/27/2017

CoryAnn
We could not really taste the flavors very well with our chemx or french press
8/27/2017

Lucas
This coffee is definitely balanced, but the orange in it is not very prominent at all. Still a decent coffee though.

I would probably give this about a 3.5. This coffee may be a little too bright for me. I thought I would like that it's more balanced, but it's coming off a little acidic at times. I still do like it though. I may like the nuttier coffees better, but lighter on the nutty and rich flavors.

Coffee is obviously a matter of preference and opinion, so this is only mine. That said, this was a very disappointing roast, and for me represents everything that is wrong with modern roasting approaches. We know there is a trend toward ever-lighter roasting to better "represent the flavor of the coffee," but when taken to the extreme the result just isn't coffee at all to me. This is a good example of that.

The raw beans had a nice, albeit very subtle, aroma. Definitely a little chocolate in there and actually kind of a nice nutty overtone. Once ground, the aroma really dissipates and I found it had to kind of chase it to find it - "there it is, oops where'd it go!?). I then brewed it in a Behmor Brazen at 202 degrees, 60 grams for .9L, which for most roasts would be a very stout, well-rounded brew. The result was so lacking in character that I can only liken it to a hot cup of diluted lemonade. I wound up tossing the pot. To better gauge the true essence of the roast, I then brewed using my Aeropress with a heavy hand...if there was any flavor in there, it would find it. Again, the result is almost entirely without coffee characteristics, just a hot cup of acidity, with an insipid background note that's almost like a grain - green wheat comes to mind, almost like Postum. To me, this isn't "citrusy," it's just weak and acidic.

Again, just my opinion - but this one is not my cup of tea :)

It was definitely 4.5 stars. I liked the first shipment more.

Once I got it dialed in, I could definitely get the orange citrus notes. Pretty good overall.

There were many days that I just dumped my cup over ice and enjoyed the refreshment along with the caffeine. The coffee did its job, but there was nothing too remarkable with this cup...for me.

Very roasty. I get some traces of the orange blossom mentioned but there's a definite charcoal aftertaste which is not very pleasant. The coffee is drinkable, but at this price point I'm very disappointed in the product.

I like the flavors. It's smooth but has a little bite/backbone. This coffee is pleasing to me.
