This coffee will be fresh roasted for you. We expect Colectivo Coffee will roast and ship this coffee in 1-2 business days depending on their roasting schedule.
This is the Brazil Canarinho brought to you by Colectivo Coffee. This coffee was grown in the Minas Gerais region of Brazil, the largest coffee-producing state in the world's largest producing country. These coffees are loved for their rich and full bodied cups with notes of chocolate, roasted nuts and tobacco.
Smooth and bold at the same time (MR); aromatic, not heavy or too strong (MD); buy again!
My favorite coffee so far! Really enjoyed the subscription selection this month. Will order again.
Smooth, easy to drink.
Good balance of nutty, chocolate and tobacco. Not too bitter
Prefer Med to Light roast beans, not dark and rich or full-bodied...these preferences are in my profile.
A little darker than I'd like
My least favorite by far.
I enjoy the blend of chocolate and a nice hint of tobacco flavor notes. This has a richness and a nice body, but perhaps on the high side for me? This is a high 4 rating and could see coming back to something like this once in a while for its fullness and flavors.
Hazelnuts, peanuts, chocolate, and a silky body - this made an exceptional cup. W ground course for most of the bag and brewed it with a Chemex using a modified technique. We would happily order this again.
We love this coffee! the notes of chocolate and roasted nuts are delicious. It was the perfect amount of boldness for us.
Coffee was ok, seemed a little dry. Maybe something a little oilier next time.
Aroma from the container was earthy, nutty, and of tobacco. Aroma was less strong after brewing. The taste was of cocoa powder up front but quickly faded into a strong nutty flavor. Tobacco then overwhelms the flavor profile and lingers on the the tongue. I think there is a slight acidic, bitter flavor that may come from the tobacco.
Flavor was not as robust as we like. We like a really smooth and robust true coffee flavor. But we don't like a burnt taste, so don't like to get that flavor boost through dark roasting, rather from a really flavorful, smooth medium roast bean. Look forward to seeing how the next one tastes! Thanks!
When I opened the bag, I really noticed the tobacco, then after being ground I could smell the chocolate. Both tastes work well and aren't too heavy. I couldn't detect the nutty flavor, but maybe with practice!. I really like the full body of this coffee, and it's very smooth. Lovely coffee for my first taste!
Very good first coffee. I enjoyed the full bodied flavor to it. I love the aroma from the coffee as well. Taking down 1 star because it doesn't stand out as a "WOW" coffee in the total profile.
Coffee was great, a little bit to chocolate flavored for me. Otherwise it was great to taste something unique compared to other coffees I have had before!
This was a nice blend not too acidic which i like but a little light
Definitely good. Would order again. Nothing made it truly special, just a good cup of coffee
coffee was ok, still learning about what I like and dont like. I like something with a bolder flavor. Maybe not as full bodied as i dont love the tobacco flavor
I liked it but there was something missing.I would get these really good toasty coffee flavors but they faded quickly. I am also still getting used to a new coffee pot so that might also be a factor.
Nice, smooth, chocolatey coffe, but would love to try more interesting brews.
Liked the chocolate undertones. Body and roast were good too.Not sure how I liked the roasted nut notes. Overall a really enjoyable cup
rich & full bodied
Different from what I am used to. Amazed by the nutty smell when I opened the bag. I learned to enjoy it more the longer I tried it and changed my brew methods (all Aeropress), but not my favorite.
Loved the coffe, it was great
Liked the medium body chocolatey notes, smooth and not too bitter
Very good. Pretty much spot on for what I like.
cant distinguish flavors as much
It’s good - and flavorful. I enjoy it but it is a bit darker than my usual.
I really like how smooth yet rich the flavor is. I would like to try something on the other side of the spectrum light and floral to see how they compare.
Brewed with Aeropress and Behmor Brazen. Smooth and rich and satisfying.
Nice and enjoyable cup of coffee, as described.
Slightly bitter, but had tastes of chocolate, nuts, and is fully bodied. Perhaps slightly to dark for me
This was a speck bitter with my usual brewing preferences, but brewed just a little weaker it has a really nice dark, nutty caramel note to it.
The roast level was what we prefer.
I like the light mouthfeel and balanced cup, and I like the flavors that come out as it cools down, though none of the notes are particularly strong. The only note we're not crazy about is the tobacco.
Nevertheless, this is still an enjoyable roast and makes for an enjoyable cup of coffee!
It's definitely earthy. I was concerned about the notes of tobacco because my experience is that I don't typically like that. I actually enjoyed it as a change of pace but couldn't drink it all the time.
I liked it! I wouldn't mind something a little different next time. I'm up for surprises!
I thought it smelled wonderful but was a little disappointed that it was not as full bodied as the aroma suggested.
Definitely earthy. I didn't get much of the nutty or chocolate notes from this - they seemed to be masked by bitterness. Shines when flash-cold brewed
It was just okay. Not as good as many other coffees we drink but not terrible. Probably wouldn’t want it again.
Not bad at all. Flavors are less forward than I'd like...meaning I taste after I swallow. I think I prefer a slightly lighter roast.
Rich, full bodied, and smooth, but not overpowering. I would say it had the right mixture of a great coffee!
Used a V60 to brew. The roasted nut flavor was really heavy and isn't really my thing. Got a bit of the chocolate; it was very subtle. Overall, a kind of toasty flavor dominated everything. Probably wouldn't select this again.
I do love good coffee but I’m not an expert on describing it haha ... this one was okay but I can’t say I loved the flavor. It also made me shaky so perhaps the caffeine content was higher than I’m use to.
Good but more on the mild side for my taste. Looking for something a little bolder
Excellent choice. Great taste both warm and cold.
This coffee was really yummy. Smooth and very drinkable. It wasn’t “challenging” to my palate, which is perfect for a morning cup of coffee.
A little bit too dark and tobacco-y for me.
We really liked this coffee!
Gentle balanced flavored with smaller beans.
Excellent care with precise medium roasting.
Michael and Peggy
Not good for our Bunn Brewer. Coffee floats and overflows the basket. Good flavor.
This coffee is great! Pleasantly smooth and rich. I have roaster close to home, but I have been wanting to branch out and explore more. I like fruity natural process coffees normally, but this is a stellar coffee!
The coffee is smooth and mild. Would like to try something similar, but a little bit bolder.
It was good, but nothing espectacular.
Really like this one.
It was rich and enjoyable. The coffee possessed a wonderful aroma.
Real nice. Nutty, light coffee goodness.
I think that Colectivo Brasil is not bold enough for me. Very tasteless.
Good coffee! Really liked the flavor.
Overall enjoyed the earthy flavors. Flavors were fairly subtle. Would like to try something a bit more bold.
This Brazil coffee is great!! I like everything about it.
Very smooth, great taste, I can definitely taste the chocolate, I like the fact that it’s not bitter and I can enjoy the coffee even after it’s cooled off a bit.
We had to up our dose quite a bit to get anything interested out of it.
I think I prefer a coffee with more acidity and tend to like more fruity, herbal flavors than the really strong dark chocolate I got from this. But it was still really good!
REALLY GOOD! Smooth and not fruity, definitely nutty. I think I may like more nutty flavored coffee instead of fruity. If anyone is curious. I used a V60 with the Rao Technique (YouTube it).
Good, maybe slightly too acidic
Would like something slightly sweeter, and more complex.
Loved this coffee. Different than anything I've tried before. Strong chocolate and (possibly) tobacco (never smoked but that's what the tasting notes said). Whatever that flavor is, I love it. Zero tangy acidity - even when it cools down. Very interesting. Zero burnt notes. Great first selection! Brewed in a V60.
The caramel flavor really comes through in a french press. Very tasty!
Full bodied. Very balanced. Instant dark chocolate and nut flavor with tobacco notes carrying through the finish.
Brewed using Ninja auto drip brewer using medium grind.
I typically go for a darker roast than this, but I found the medium roast of the Canarinho very smooth and enjoyable. I loved the chocolate notes, however, overall it was a little on the earthy side. I'm guessing the tobacco was the source of that. Perhaps the nuts were a little too toasty as well (though I do really enjoy a good nuttiness). I liked this coffee, but didn't love it.
Definitely got a note of tobacco. Tasted better as it cools down. And there were hints of strawberry around the side of your mouth.
Coffee is pretty decent. Definitely has a slight caramel vibe to it but felt a little light on mouthfeel. Would love to see more vibrancy come throughout it.
Loved it but it was a bit too nutty for me.
It's good but it's a little bit too acidic. Tastes good when I use it for iced lattes but I didn't like it straight from my aeropress.
Excellent coffee. Well balanced.
This was a very good coffee. Liked the full body and smooth finish.
I didn’t get to try this one, but my husband liked it.
The chocolate balanced nicely with a light cream.
This coffee was amazing. Everything about the taste was strong, bold, and chocolately. Super winner!
Very good. One of my favorites so far.
It isnt' complex enough for my tastes.
In both of our preparations via Aeropress and V60, the flavor felt flat and uninteresting where we weren't able to pick out any nuanced flavor notes like Counter Culture's Fast Forward, which we tried recently.
Just wasn’t for me
Very "clean" flavor without being overpowering; still enjoying the bag but certainly no negative feedback
Good flavor, rich taste and mouthfeel.
Relatively neutral, very round flavors. I appreciate the milk chocolate flavors and the body, but would personally prefer a bit more fruit flavor (citrus especially?). There is a hint of smoky tobacco, which is not really for me.
I liked didn't love.
I liked the coffee, but here is a little fine tuning using the guide you provided: The roast could have been a little bit darker, but not by much. The flavors were nice something a little less chocolately. The coffee was balanced and smooth which is how I like it. Hope this helps.
The coffee is pretty good when it's very hot but as it cools off (maybe the last 1/3 cup) it starts taste more sour than I usually like. It also isn't quite as bold as I'm used to but I think I might actually prefer it this way.
This was one of the first times where I could actually smell chocolate in the coffee. The flavor was delicious but the smell was amazing. Not sure if I overground the coffee but this was definitely on the bold side of the spectrum for me; I'd like to try lighter flavors moving forward, thanks!
Not a big fan of nutty coffees. The coffee just smelled burnt when you would open the bag.
There was a strange flavor, almost like a liqueur, that was unpleasant.
We enjoyed this one. The nutty flavors were great. I would like to try something with fruity notes as well.
So, this is pretty good. There is an under taste that is pretty mild that I'm not overly fond of. I have never quite known how to describe it, perhaps too green rather than ripe? Or is that the perfume? It is much stronger in many coffees and then it ruins the coffee. But as I said, pretty good. At a local coffee shop I like to order Malawi. They do a pour over and it is good. We have friends from Columbia who brought us back some Columbian coffee direct from their country. That was some of the very best we have had. Liked the really rich taste. Does this help?
Worked out great on the V60 and French press
Loved it! It did not seem to be as bitter as the charleston coffee I had been drinking. I enjoy the bitterness though , that is just one difference noticed.. I also seemed to notice some chocolate notes, which was nice.
It could have been a little bit stronger...leaves a little bit of an aftertaste in your mouth that is quite dissatisfying. Not giving up hope though.
Really enjoyed this!
My wife and I didn't find the coffee to be "full bodied" as advertised. Rather, it was weaker than strong. We also didn't taste a distinct taste. In short, it was average—not bad but not memorable.
Acidic. Preferred 2nd one more.
Missy & Neil
Very smooth, a little lighter than I usually brew. So, perhaps a slightly darker roast next time.
Good, very drinkable. I think the only criticism would be that comparable to the LaColombe - Corsica it was not as flavorful.
Mark and Teresa
This was not my favorite coffee. The taste was off for me.
Tobacco notes were stronger than I expected, but also more pleasant than I expected. The nuts and chocolate notes were more subtle. The coffee had a great body to it, but I do crave something with a bit more nuance where I could taste more than one note easily.
I found the taste very bland with almost no coffee flavor. I thought I wasn't using enough beans so ground extra beans but still nothing approaching a full bodied taste. A bit disappointing. Also the grounds were extremely dry with no hint of oil. Is that expected. I would like a coffee that is more full bodied for my next delivery please..
Great coffee for aeropress, full bodied, great for that first and second cup in the morning. Used this in both aeropress and mokapot. The mokapot was too sour d/t increased water temp.
Distinctly different from other coffee I have bought but I enjoyed it a lot! It was good to try a richer bean.
Very even with no spikes. This is exactly what I asked for and it's a great morning coffee. It has helped me realize, however, that I may like fruit notes more than I realized.
Good a little light
I'm enjoying this coffee, but i think I'd prefer something darker. Before signing up for MistoBox, I always bought a dark roast from a local roaster. Not sure why I selected Medium roast as my preference!
Laura & Dwight
Lacking some smoothness - a little acidic in the finish. Not organic.
The notes of tobacco really stood out to me, but I didn't particularly like the taste. I'm usually a fan of Ethiopian coffees and am always looking to try something new, but I just couldn't bring myself to like this.
Very smooth, accessible coffee. I like the roast level, and the chocolatey notes were nice. Overall, I'm enjoying it, although I wouldn't mind trying something with a little more fruitiness and a little less nuttiness in my next batch. If you want to pick a coffee that is starkly different so I can really compare differences, I'm open to it! Then I will try to combine my favorite aspects of each to better hone my palate. Thanks!
I had mostly had dark roast coffees before this, and I was surprised by how flavorful a cup of coffee could be!
Did not like the smokey notes in the beans.
An excellent start. Maybe a little too full bodied for my morning cup. The notes were rich and deep, but I like a brighter finish in the morning. Brewed it with both French Press and Chemex, and liked the latter better. Maybe something with more citrus overtones next time?
First impression was spot-on with the description: nutty chocolate with full body – bordering on smokey. The roast was maybe just the slightest bit too dark for me, which I'm attributing the faint smokey-ness to(?).
I like the overall full-bodied smoothness though; it's not sharp or acrid. However, I'm kinda craving a just a little more citrus or sour, but I still like the roundness of the full body. It's just that faint smoke I'm not fond of.
I'd prefer a lighter roast, it was a little too dark for me. But I really enjoyed the chocolate notes and the nuttiness. It grew on me a lot.
It was really good actually. I could definitely taste the chocolate nuttiness when using my V60. I was not expecting to like it as much as I did but it was great!
It was a heavier than I anticipated. I can definitely taste the choc/nutty notes but would like a more flavorful and mid-bodied next time.
Enjoyed the notes and had the nice flavor balance. Also found it slightly acidic, but could be due to brewing process. (chemex)
I found this coffee to be a bit watery, not full bodied. I even adjusted the golden ratio, increasing the amount of coffee to water, and it was still feeling a bit thin. I can see where the roaster was going with the chocolate and nutty notes, but I don't think they got there. While it's not a terrible coffee, it's not something I would want to drink every day.
More robust flavors, prefer less tobacco notes and more chocolate. Like full bodied, even more is good.
It's really good maybe a touch too light. Would prefer maybe a bit more intense flavor.
I'm not great at coffee notes but I really did enjoy this roast. Went well with a sweet breakfast and made my morning routine super pleasant. I'm excited to see what Connor has in store next!
Great tasting coffee! Seemed slightly acidic (perhaps due to our brewing method) but great other than that.
Very fine cup of coffee, chocolate front with nutty finish.
Was not fond of the slight tobacco-y taste but otherwise found it very enjoyable.
Nice roast, slightly acidic, mild Chocolate notes. Would purchase again.
Brewed with both Chemex and French Press. Found it hard to get the flavor. Also, I prefer darker roasted coffees.
A little light bodied and thin tasting.
Drinking all coffees with either French press or Chemex drip, so only tried with very course grind. Ok, but not my favorite.
Solid cup of coffee. Smells like Cheerios post-grind. Smells like a chocolate covered nut once brewed. Smooth, full flavor. Perfectly complements a glazed donut.
Really enjoyed. Smooth, made nice cold brew. Notes of chocolate and almond.
If there were more of a rating system, I'd really like to give this a 4.5 because it's unfair to state that it was extremely enjoyable, but mildly good. The notes were perfect, you are able to pick up a hint of acidity in this one as you swallow to enjoy this breath.
Really liked this coffee. I was skeptical--I thought it might be bitter and maybe too "chocolate" in flavor but I found it to be smooth. Even my husband-who doesn't drink coffee at all-commented that it smelled amazing!
Almost sour, but with a nice rounded counterpart. Yeah, nutty I guess, which was nice. Wanted a deeper, more robust flavor.
Pretty great! Love the chocolate notes. A couple brews in the chemex turned out tasting a little more like a dark roast and a tad ashy, but that might have been my error. Otherwise pretty great!
Pretty good, very smooth. I like that it lacks an acidic taste, but I think I'm used to and more drawn to stronger and richer flavors than this roast.
Loved the flavor and notes. Thanks!
This is a very good coffee. I don't really have the vocabulary to describe it, but I like the lightness of the roast.
Pretty good, the flavors were a good match. There is a little more acidy that I can feel in my stomach that I could do without. The caffeine level also was noticeably higher than my usual beans.
Huge fan of this coffee! I like how to is medium roast/body but with unique flavor. And it smells amazing.
Really tasty as a hot pour-over. Fell short of a good cold-steeped coffee, though. Would definitely get this again, but would only drink it hot.
Ok, but milder flavor than I like
Definitely a nice departure from the Brazilian coffees I typically drink. The coffee roaster/shop I work for frequently carries two Brazilian's - a Conquista & Juliana - and while carrying the same earthy, nutty flavors I dig, the thicker body of the Canarinho carries the flavors exceptionally.
My first impression was that it was a smooth drinkable coffee with nothing really remarkable or memorable in terms of flavor. Just a nice everyday cup.
I am enjoying the coffee, I like that it is low in acidity, but prefer something that may be roasted just a little bit longer, To give it that slightly stronger taste
It has a nice flavor, but is not a coffee i will choose again. It has a bitter finish and the tobacco hints strike me as unpleasant. The acidity level was good.
It was a little weak to me. So I had to use more coffee. But the flavor was good.
Really nice coffee! Heavy flavor and really nice smell. I'd be interested in trying a lighter roast next time just for contrast / to help me discover what I like. Thanks for the pick :)
I’m still developing my palate. There was a smokiness, as best as I can describe it, that overtook any other notes. I think it’s a taste I can acquire, but it was unexpected. Otherwise a smooth cup.
I didn't really like this coffee very much. I think the roast was a bit darker than I prefer and it was a bit more full bodied than I prefer (even though I usually think of myself as enjoying full bodied coffee). It had a kind of strong almost burnt flavor, which I don't prefer. I think I tend to prefer more nuanced coffee's w/ more floral and or citrusy notes, although I have had other coffees that are described as chocolately that I've liked. Hope this helps.
I loved this cofffee. I'd love to try something similar that maybe has a less nutty body the next time around. I think I want a coffee that is overall smooth with lots of nuanced flavors. I'm still not certain what my ideal coffee profile is, but hoping to figure it our through this process!
medium mouthfeel, nutty, balanced. low acidity (which i like). Interested in a little more vibrancy.
roast profile was good (medium).
I love the smell of this coffee! The bean color is perfect and it tastes good to me. I prefer the chocolate notes over the nutty notes of the coffee. My husband loves this!
It was a good coffee! It definitely leaned darker than I would have preferred. I did get a fair amount of the chocolate/nutty flavors, but maybe would prefer a more interesting profile. It was really tasty though.
awesome flavor a top tier coffee
Louis & Joanne
We like a more stronger coffee. This coffee was okay and we will use it but, for instance, I have recently bought from Oren's coffee, Papua New Guinea, or we like Illy coffee. Can you please adjust our remaining order according. Thank you.
i prefer more floral notes. it was a good, basic coffee, but didn't blow me away.
This coffee was really solid, especially in a French press—I loved the chocolatey, nutty flavors. However at the moment I’d like to try more of the bright + complex flavors found in lighter roasts.
We loved this one too!
A little too light for me.
Angie & Paul
Beans were extremely dry. Coffee was far too light. More like a blonde than a full body medium to dark roast.
Very pleasant, albeit one-dimensional coffee. Better as Aeropress than pourover. Would probably also be nice as espresso given the full-bodied richness. Would prefer coffees with more complexity/subtlety.
Roast was too dark for my taste - also couldn't really taste the chocolate notes- I think I would like a brighter tasting coffee
It was ok...to me this tasted about the same as what I would buy at the grocery store. It wasn’t bad, it just didn’t seem “special” to me.
Very solid overall. Would prefer a darker roast with bolder flavor. I do like the earthiness of this roast
was delicious. enjoyed the chocolate flavor. Would like to try a lighter roast and maybe a bit smoother
I can afford to be snootily discriminating now, because there've been and still are so many superb beans. These are excellent, but not quite as favorite as others.
Good. Like a little brighter, citrus-y flavor, but this was pretty solid.
I liked it but it has a hint of tobacco in terms of smell and taste which I don't love but it was mild enough for me to enjoy.
This coffee is smooth and tasty. I like that it is low in acidity. I definitely like the roast level on it, but am curious to try something a little on the darker side.
The coffe was good and very drinkable although seemed “regular”. I would like to try something with more flavor.
I loved this coffee- love the full body, extremely low bitterness, smooth chocolate notes. Excellent!
I'm usually not a fan of South American coffees, but this one had some of the complex flavors of African coffees though not as fruity.
Pretty bold which I liked. Nutty flavor was more present than chocolate. Overall it’s not my favorite coffee I’ve ever had but it makes a good cup.
A little to mild, we like strong dark coffe like eight o’clock brand
Very bold not a favorite of mine. I like the lighter flavors. The fruity and chocolate notes are good though
Don’t love Brazilian coffee. Prefer coffees from Costa Rica, Ecuador, Jamaica, Hawaii.
Not sure what they have in common.
It had a boldness to it, and wasn't bad, but I like more acidic fruity coffees (I thought I mentioned that in my notes when I signed up), so this wasn't really to my liking.
Great first bag! I liked this roast and full flavor of the coffee. Especially enjoyed that it had chocolate notes without being overpowering
A little lighter than I'm used to, but it brought out some of the more subtler notes! My burr grinder definitely thanked me for the lack of oils on the beans.
Need to mess with the brew a bit, but so far it tastes a bit too nutty and dark for my taste, perhaps a bit muddy, although not in a bad way. I think I'd prefer a lighter roast
We were thrilled to receive our first order and to see that you had sent something with chocolate notes and low acidity. The bag arrived unsealed (no vacuum seal) and only crimped closed. Not sure if that is standard. The beans have a lovely aroma but the once brewed seemed to have a metallic aftertaste. We will try another coffee-water-steeping time combination but initial reaction was we would not order this again.
Didn't love it.
Very tasty coffee! Really liked the chocolate notes in this roast. Definitely want to try a bolder brew next time. I like my coffee intense :)
The aroma from the whole beans on just magnificent and only gets better after grinding them up. I used the French press as my brewing method. The bloom yielded an amazing smoky aroma, but all the aroma died down once the brew began.
The nutty and tobacco notes really came through in the brew, but I got little in the ways of chocolate.
All in all, this coffee is very enjoyable and I will be buying it again.
Notes were almost too chocolatey for me, but fantastic aroma.
An incredibly smooth coffee with a fantastic nutty smell! I couldn't really pick up on the chocolate or tobacco, but it was still very pleasant to drink. Great for those calm mornings. I do wish it had more of a "kick" to it though.
Love it. Very fresh and not too acidic. Love the chocolatey taste. Tried it with Bonavita drip machine and with Aeropress. Tasted best with Aeropress.
Love this coffee!
Great, well-rounded coffee with a pleasant roasty feel.
This coffee was fine, but I'm a little surprised that you decided to send me a coffee with chocolate as the first tasting note when in my profile i indicated that chocolate was a flavor I didn't like in my coffee. What are you using to make these suggestions?
Didn’t taste the greatest. We felt it was a bit bitter and tasted burnt.
I really enjoyed this blend, was impressed by the amount of flavor in the brew. I'm still fairly new to home brew coffee and was unable to differentiate the nodes of flavors mentioned on the packaging, but it was delicious none the less.
it is pretty good. smooth. not too robust or complicated.
Sent coffee preferences prior to our first coffee. Basically this coffee was everything we don't look for in a cup: heavy chocolate notes, tobacco, heavy body.
I liked this coffee! It was not acidic or bitter to me. I could taste the roasted nuts. However, I have to admit that my taste buds are not sophisticated enough to detect the notes of chocolate or tobacco. This was a smooth cup and I am looking forward to enjoying the rest of the bag!
The notes were spot-on! I was impressed with how smooth it was. Great stuff!
High acid for my belly and forgettable flavor. Not much complexity. Need to have a couple more cups but first impression was meh.
I liked this coffee a lot. Not bitter at all. I like the slight sourness (is this the citrus note). Tasted fresh and bright. I’d like to try thi coffee again in a few weeks. I really liked it, but have now tasted more coffees to compare with. I think I would raise this to a 5.
Really like this coffee. In fact besides a coffee from Bird Rock Roasters from Panama roasted out in San Diego this is possibly my second favorite I’ve had. I was big fan of how it had great flavor without the over bearing dark or charred taste so many roasts have. I lean towards a light to medium roast and I’m not sure where this fell on that spectrum but I liked it.
Thanks for picking this one. Keep it up.
PS I’m from Tulsa and I really don’t like anything Topeka roasts so please don’t send anything from them. Everything from them just tastes burnt to me.
I thought the coffee tasted exactly as the notes described. However I did get a little sweetness in the coffee as iced. Raisin notes. A hint.
The chocolate and nutty flavor really come through. I had to adjust my ratios from what I usually use, as I found it pretty strong and heavy bodied, but with some alterations found this to be really nice.
I would drink this again. I tasted more caramel than chocolate and since i don't like a lot of acidity this made for a great cup of late morning to afternoon coffee.
Ok-maybe a little too nutty?
I enjoyed how full bodied it was without being over powering and the chocolate notes.
super flavorful! very well balanced!
Starts off sweet and chocolatey but finishes a little earthy.
This cup is definitely a departure from most of the Brazilian coffees I've tried in the past, and I'm not sure in a good way. There is an earthy, tobacco flavor that immediately hits your palate, with a bit of a smoky, charred undertone. Any hint of chocolate is subtle at best and unable to pop through the overpowering tobacco notes. The cup is lacking in sweetness or acidity to balance things out. Unfortunately, one of my least favorite coffees from Mistobox to date.
Absolutely love this coffee. Full bodied, and a nice smooth flavor.
Very enjoyable for my taste!
Couldn't really notice anything remarkable about this coffee.
Another MistoBox Hit!
Super peanut-ty, and not in a good way.
Burnt flavor. Not a fan. Aftertaste isn't horrible, though.
I brewed in a Clever Dripper. This coffee seemed rather dark (full-bodied). I tried a shorter brew time, but it still tasted really heavy.
could be stronger
Really enjoyed the smoothness of this coffee! Not acidic at all! And great black, or with a splash of half and half.
Edit: I've bought another bag of this from the roaster and I think it may be my favorite bean EVER!!
Used cold brew for the first cup. I might add a few more beans to tomorrow's cup (or less water). The nutty/tobacco flavors are definitely prominent and surprisingly delicious! I normally don't like nutty flavors... well, mainly I just hate hazelnut. And the low acidity in this cup is right up my alley! I'll try pour over this weekend to see how this changes the flavors.
