This is the Costa Rica Tarrazu brought to you by Portrait Coffee. This Fully Washed coffee was grown 1,500 meters above sea level in the growing region of Tarrazu in Costa Rica. We're tasting stone fruits, berries, citrus, and toasted nuts in the cup.
Above average, barely. Enjoyed the light brightness when brewed in aeropress - wasn’t overly thin in tasting profile.
really good, but I prefer lighter roast
I enjoyed this one!
Too dark for my pallette
Liked the balance and citrus notes. Personally would like a bit more fruit in the profile.
Delicious. Fruity, fine, and perfectly roasted.
Pretty good. Enjoyed the fruit flavors and bright acidity. Roast was indicated as 3 out of 5 on product itself and was more reminiscent of medium as opposed to light roast. But still enjoyed.
I find it strange that the website lists stone fruits, berries and citrus, but the bag I believe more accurately states caramel, chocolate and lemon. While lemon is obviously citrus, it is on the more bitter end of that scale, which is the only part of the citrus I am getting. In general this seems like a more typical medium, dark sweets roast than I prefer.
I found it bland.
Okay, a little one note, not that bright
Had a brown butter cookie thing going on which hints of citrus and fruit which I liked a LOT.
A little thicker on the palate than I was expecting. I prefer a brighter taste and a crispier feel.
Darker than expected
Too dark for my taste.
Not a bad cup at all. It has a good acidity and a nice sweetness, but a bit bitter for my taste.
A bit roasty toasty but it makes a good espresso - certainly wouldn't be my first choice for filter though.
It's not a bad coffee, but I found the roast too dark for my tastes. I brewed it on V60, Chemex, and Aeropress. Much of the fruit complexity was washed out by the smokey roast. In fact, I found this to be as the bag describes it: medium roast with notes of chocolate and caramel with a lemony acidity.
Really nicely layered flavor profile, delivers on the notes as promised. A hint of citrus up top, a strong presence of darker fruits and berries in the middle, all supported by the base of lightly toasted nuttiness. Brewed V60 3:10 total time.
It is delicious! We make it as an espresso shot and then use it in either a cappuccino or iced latte!
