This is Darker the Cherry brought to you by Portrait Coffee. Darker the Cherry is a single-origin coffee grown 1,100 meters above sea level in Brazil's Cerrado Mineiro region. Portrait roasts it to perfection for those that enjoy a rich, roasty, and smooth brew. It features notes of toasted nuts and rich dark chocolate.
I was disappointed in this one-I thought it had a milder flavor than I expected from the description, and lacked depth.
It wasn't bright/bold enough for my taste, but the mouth feel was really good.
Did not like this one very much. It had the words Cherry across the from and that’s probably my least favorite flavor. I would like to try more light roasts!
Loved it! Has a really rich flavor.
loving this so much - such a fun nice draw and balanced too
One of my top 3 coffees. No acidic finish
Delicious and dark - bitterness is present but not overwhelming. Enjoyed it very much.
Perfection. Smooth and wonderfully bitter. So good
Very good, but it should definitely be considered a dark roast.
This coffee is amazing!
This coffee is perfect for my tastes. Deep chocolate flavor with a smooth finish. The roast level is perfect. Not so dark that it becomes bitter and not so light that it has a bright acidic finish. The Goldilocks roast!
not a huge fan, nuttiness came out as peanut-y.
I think it’s the nutty notes that I like about this one.
Agread, this is rich roasty and smooth. Mmm I was sent a second bag 3 days after receiving the first.
I don’t know why I expected to not like this one? Clearly it exceeded my expectations. I really enjoyed it
A little too rich/dark for us, but a fun one to try!
coffee didn't taste as "fresh"
Absolutely loved this one! It was bold and really flavorful. Very compatible with oat milk!
This was the best of the delivered coffees!
Rich, smooth coffee. A+
One of my faves so far! And they are local.
Muddy and overrowdted. Eww
Super smooth. Very good.
Rich and smooth with the sweetness of roasted walnuts and chocolate.
Kind of bitter, not very rich.
I think i don't like the Nutty Flavors
This was OK, a little in the lighter side.
Did not love the roast. Was not as smooth as others.
Good but not something I would have again. There doesn't seem to be any standout flavor which is likely due to the walnut notes being dominant and less impactful than i typically prefer.
Even my husband said it was too weak. And since he loads all coffee with cream and sugar this is funny. I drink it black and though it was on the weaker side.
This was a little too serious
It tastes bitter or burnt even after I tried to brew it a few different ways.
Really great flavor profile, I prefer this type with strong depth.
While a darker coffee than I typically get, had amazing chocolate notes. It also bloomed beautifully in pour over.
I use whole beans at coarse grind for pour over—50g / 1 liter
This was just too mellow. It didn't have the wow factor. Boring and plain. I didn't feel this was rich at all.
Middle of the road
Really great roast. Perfect for a milk drink on a snowy day. The most chocolatey coffee I've ever had.
Great balance between rich and smooth.
Not my fav. Over roasted
Tasty dark roast with a hint of acidity
Nicely balanced coffee. Smooth. Not super complex but a great rich cup that was very satisfying.
Rich and smooth. Dark chocolate and nuts come through without being overwhelming.
Not my favorite
Super bitter chocolate note hits you right in the face. They'd have been better served easing up on the roast level and making this a bit lighter. Really feels overly roasted and bitter.
Probably the toasted walnut note, was very bland tasting. Wouldn't order again. Brew method: Hario Switch
Great drip coffee, a little fruity but plenty dark which is what we like
I loved this one! It tasted very well-balanced. I still liked it at different times of day and with or without food, and usually that has a big effect for me on whether or not coffee tastes good. Please keep this one in the rotation!
Prefer something lighter in flavor
The chocolate comes through too strongly. Almost a hot chocolate drink.
We love the goal of the roaster, but these beans were so dark that they were bitter. We would love to support this roaster, but would prefer a lighter roast from them if possible. Thank you!
I really liked this one as a cold brew Americana. Also good with a splash of cream.
Beans are dry and become dusty/flaky when ground. Coffee is delicious. Robust flavor. Tastes a bit nutty.
Ok, but not good enough to order again.
Not bitter, nice flavors
Very disappointed in this coffee--nothing special at all.
Good, solid coffee. Brews up a little darker than what I usually drink though.
Tried 2 separate times but did not enjoy the flavor - it was too flat or earthy?
fair - a bit bitter
The acidity distracted from its flavor for me.
Makes a rich, very satisfying cup of coffee.
Sweet, dark, caramel and Graham cracker notes
Loved it, more from this roaster please.
We loved how rich this coffee was, but it wasn't bitter. Send this again!
Too dark for my taste
Not my favorite, to earthy/nutty
Strong flavor. Good morning coffee
Truly bad. My first ever terrible mistobox. It tastes stale. It reminds me of coffee from a Keurig. Not even a fancy K-cup, like a cheap K-cup you find in the back of the office break room behind the extra printer toner.
Really nice dark taste!
Great flavor and love the taste all of the way through to the after taste
This coffee was my favorite so far. The flavors were great and espresso shots were easy and consistent to pull.
This makes an espresso that is reasonably good, but not as interesting a set of flavors as the Coffee Klatch Italian Roast
