The Kenya Gatina PB was carefully roasted for you by Case Coffee Roasters. This fully washed coffee was grown by the various small holder producers in the Nyeri region of Kenya at 1,800 meters above sea level. We love this coffee for its nuanced notes of vibrant fruity and citrus notes and bright overall quality.
This coffee was roasted slightly darker than I would normally choose, but it works well - really well. Best results when brewed as a pour over.
Love the berry flavours, round-bodied flavour and smooth taste. The roast is just slightly too dark for me.
I like how this coffee has a mildly sweet flavor to it.
Lightly juicy - refreshing
Delicious. A bright refreshing cup of coffee. Plenty of fruit on the nose and nice crisp citrus taste with a fruity finish. Just what I am looking for.
Solid blend of various flavors
3.5 stars. Overall a pleasant coffee, was hoping for more of a grape candy pop with it being a peaberry. Works well across all brew methods, with my favorite being an aeropress.
grapefruit and apricot definitely stood out in this cup. while it was pleasant to drink we were not wowed by it.
I think this is the best coffee I've received from Mistobox thus far. Absolutely brilliant!
I think this was my favorite one I've received so far. Extremely vibrant, fruity and fun to drink as both pour over and espresso!
I was initially very intrigued by this Kenyan bean from Case Coffee Roasters, as the tasting notes made it seem right up my alley. Grape candy? Alright. Apricot? Wonderful. Bright? I'm in.Alas, Case's Kenya Gatina Peaberry was fine but didn't quite do it for me, whether brewed hot in the morning with a Chemex or V60 dripper, or brewed cold overnight in a canvas bag. I can't really put my finger on what exactly I was tasting with this one, but it left behind a rather dry mouthfeel that made me yearn for something smoother.I'm certainly glad I tried it, and my friends no doubt appreciated having a nice batch of cold brew to cool them off while helping my fiancée and me move into a new house, but I'm looking forward to whatever coffee arrives next on my doorstep.
3.5 stars. One of the best peaberries I've had.I am not usually a fan. This coffee has a nice grape hard candy sweetness and roundness, that transitions into apricot notes. It balances with a grapefruit brightness with a dash of Meyer lemon zest.
While being smooth with a nice finish, the taste is relatively simple, one-note.
Bright fruit forward, reminds me of starfruit. Long finish with a hint of grapefruit but without the bitterness. As it cools down, more of the melon notes pop up as it gets sweeter. Really enjoying this bag of coffee and would like to try cold brewing it next to see what other flavors will come out of it.
