The Honduras Finca El Tigre was carefully roasted for you by Square One Coffee. This fully washed coffee was grown by the Finca El Tigre in the Lempira region of Honduras between 1,600 meters above sea level. We love this coffee for its nuanced notes of chocolate and fruit with a balanced overall quality.
I think so far the Topeca has been my favorite. I feel like I could taste the notes a little more in the topeca than in the Square One
Love the fruitiness of the coffee
The Honduras Finca El Tigre was too acidic/bitter. Not fruity or balanced. Didn't really taste the notes above, except for the chocolate as the last note. The color of the bean was on the lighter side, which I love.
Just to give you context of our brewing equipment, we are using a hario scale with a chemex or an aeropress. With the consistency of the brew, I was a little disappointed in how this batch turned out. Still, I can't wait to see what you pick for us next!
i wish it was sweeter
Delicious coffee. Right off brew, chocolate was the dominate note but as the cup cooled slightly, the fruitiness came through. Had a slight Ethiopian quality to it.
This is a well balanced, fruity coffee. I think now that I understand the Flavor Wheel a bit better, I can say that I am more of a berry fan on the fruity scale. I began this adventure thinking I liked citrus...well now I know that I don't. This was a good choice and it was easy to brew a good cup now matter the process.
mild fruitiness, little complexity. quite bland and disappointing.
Incredible coffee, caught all of the notes listed. Was bright, but not overly acidic, very pleased with this one.
This one really did seem to be balanced. Also, my favorite roast level out of the three so far.
This Coffee has nice chocolate notes to it, but a pretty astringent bitterness that lingers on the finish.
Very good. I would call this a light roast. Great for any occasion.
A good cup, but not much to distinguish it.
This coffee taste good. It was interesting that when it got to a certain temp I could really taste the strawberry-like note, which I loved. I would say the more evident tasting note would be chocolate. Not a bad coffee at all.
This one was alright. Tasted a bit of the berry notes towards the end... but thought the flavor was a bit flat
This one will be compared, by necessity, against the Onyx Columbia San Antonio, the first coffee I tasted, I'll try to talk about this one as a stand-alone as well. I liked this coffee very much, but not quite as much as the other. The flavor was very rich, slightly brighter, and less complex (all statements should have the "IMHO" implied - I know this is very subjective, and so many factors go into making the cup that could have affected the end taste.) I made it as a pourover in a V60. The mouth feel was a little thinner, less syrupy. The smell a little smoky. The aftertaste was where I started to get a something that tasted lemony, The more I tasted it, the more I liked it. The flavor was bigger and bolder, but more unified, without as many other little flavors peeking out.
Good all around. Beans in better shape(?) than Onyx or less dry, didn't have to use quite as fine of a grind and got good crema out of the espresso shots.
Liking this coffee, though I think something a little more complex would be cool for the next bag.
Very good in a Chemex method. Bold and chocolate notes.
This coffee is good in its versatility; it works on several different methods of preparation and yields a very consistently smooth quality.
Good smooth cup with just the slightest tinge of strawberry. Nothing exceptional in any area but good in all. My favorite part is when you first taste it and let it rest the strawberry comes out.
This one grows on you. Fruity and balanced.
Very bold, rich flavors. Fantastic on aeropress.
Definitely like the fruit notes. Very smooth. Not quite as flavorful as the Bunde but very good.
Really good, balanced coffee. I find fruitiness and a bit of chocolate, but neither are overpowering.
My first pour over I ground a bit too fine and maybe brewed too slowly, but it was sour. Each cup since is getting better and better, with a chunky grind and faster pour
Flor Marie & Umair
Very well balanced, loved the fruity notes balanced with the nutty profile.
Couldn't seem to make this one stand out. Likely my fault, not getting the brew right or not attentively tasting. A good coffee, still; I'm hoping to find more nuance after a few more cups. 3 stars: I'll happily finish this bag but probably not repurchase.
Light body, subtle. Could never quite dial this one in.
