This is the Women Producers Coffee brought to you by Spyhouse Coffee Roasters. In response to gender inequity and inequality in the coffee supply chain, Spyhouse has chosen to create a year-round offering sourced exclusively from women coffee farmers. The current iteration is a rich and decadent single origin Guatemalan offering with notes of milk chocolate, brownies, spiced pecans, and caramel.
A perfect roast (not too dark) with low acidity. Really good, but hard to pull all the tasting notes out of it, especially when hot (as opposed to cold brew).
Great cup of coffee!
Excellent, full-bodied coffee. Wonderful if you love a sweet cup--perhaps a little overboard if you don't.
Decent flavor with no acid taste.
Delicious! Made an awesome espresso shot.
Good chocolate-y flavor
Nice pecan notes at the end.
Terrible. Bitter and unbalanced
Did not find the flavor particularly interesting. This coffee was lacking any real depth that you’d expect from a small batch roaster. Very ‘standard coffee’ kind of one note, flat and fairly bitter regardless of the grind.
Pretty good, was better as a pour over instead of aeropress
Best one so far.
This was a memorable flavor
Prepared with a V60, I enjoyed the milk chocolate flavors, but overall this coffee was a bit too full bodied for me. Though it's classified as a light roast, it was quite heavy in my opinion.
Interestingly, using an Aeropress I get some wine flavors, but still too heavy body wise for my liking.
I could go on and on about the nuances of this light yet rich, delicate, complex and unique flavor, but I will just say- yes- go for it. I am about to order it a third time.
I enjoyed the chocolates notes in this one.
This was pretty solid. For reason, I didn't love it off the bat, but it grew on me.
Disregard. Reviewed wrong coffee. Will update when we try this.
A very pleasant coffee to drink. Has a noticeable acidity that goes nicely with the otherwise nutty flavors.
I personally enjoy coffees from Guatemala with their delish aroma, this was also a great coffee. Although we were unable to finish the bag, it created a chocolate-like cold brew which was delicious on its own, or with a splash of coconut milks
my favorite so far!
Really really good. We love a chocolate cake for our reading time and it paired amazingly.
I like the tags "spiced pecan, chocoloate, rich" but I didn't really get those flavors in this coffee. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great.
Fine cup, but tastes a little bitter, muddy, and flat. Good flavors, but they don't really come through like they should.
Decent, but not up to par with others
Spyhouse is one of my favorite coffee producers
It made a tasty cup of coffee, but I felt I couldn't taste any of the nuanced flavors suggested in the description. I could see how the coffee is more "chocolatey" compared to some of the other coffees I'd received, but on its own I wouldn't really be able to tell. Regardless, still a good cup of joe in my opinion! Brewed using Hario v60, french press, aero press.
One of our favorite coffees that we keep in our rotation. Super balanced, tasty. We brew this in our chemex and love the flavor.
This tasted mostly muddy to me. This might be a limitation of my grinder and V60, but I couldn't correct it or bring any other notes out.
Nice flavor! I like that it's a bit brighter than the last one consistently tastes good with my current brew set up.
Really nice bright and spicy drink. Pretty buzzy with caffeine though.
We both like it a lot. Brad thinks best yet, Rashel thinks 2nd best behind Good Folks
Chocolate comes thru beautifully
The chocolate really comes out. Despite the "rich" description, I found it pretty bright too---maybe because it wasn't roasted overly dark. Regardless, quite delicious.
One of my favorites to date.
Brewed in both french press and chemex. Both my wife and I are enjoying this coffee, despite preferring lighter and darker roasts respectively. It's got good body without being heavy, and good acidity without being tart or bright. The spiced pecan tasting note is accurate. Would certainly buy again.
The richness definitely came through in this one, but I was hoping for more of the spiced pecan.
This is about as rich/dark as I like it, but I absolutely love it. Smooth as drip in my Moccamaster, also I love supporting causes like this. I would buy more in the future.
Tasting notes are right on. Great coffee.
This is a really tasty coffee, but like others have said, the tasting notes are different than what's listed on Mistobox. My bag from February 2020 says "Marmalade, Red Grape, Fudge Brownie."
Easy to drink and not overly acidic.
Smooth taste. Would have been 5 stars but the tasting profile on the website is not the same as the beans that were sent.
Very good coffee. The description of the flavors on the packaging do not match the description on the website, but that neither here nor there. Makes a good cup none the less.
good and balanced
Fantastic coffee! One of my favorites!
Beautiful coffee, smooth and flavorful with warm nutty notes.
These women did a very nice job with their farming, sourcing and roasting
Jason & Julie
too biter. We like creamier
Tasting notes on the bag were different from those stated on the site. Still pretty good. 3.5
Kind of dull, not much taste
I would not call this a coffee that is super chocolatey. However, I would drink this coffee again. It’s smooth, and a lovely taste. The spiced nut I would not call this a coffee that is super chocolatey. However, I would drink this coffee again. It’s smooth, and lovely taste. The spiced nuts tasting notes is what sticks out to me the most.
The description on the bag (chocolate, hazelnut and orange liqueur) does not match the description on the website (chocolate, brownies, spiced pecan, caramel). The orange liqueur does come through so it would have been good to know that its one the key flavor notes to expect.
More citrus than I care for, but definitely complex. Has the underlying chocolate and rich tones but the aftertaste is a little bitter. I'm missing the nutty part, but maybe that's just my palate. Don't think I would order this again.
Balanced, nice roast (mostly light), very tasty
Ran out of this one faster than expected. I liked it more than I thought I would!
Not to my liking, seems to have an odd flavor in it that I cannot describe
Tasty, rich flavor cup.
Smooth flavour with some pleasant nutty notes.
Nice smooth coffee with hint of rich chocolate. Very nice and fun. I could drink this all the time
It was pretty good, maybe a little too nutty even a little bitter finish
favorite coffee so far
I love this one. The baking spice notes really come through, but there are some really beautiful orange notes as it cools, as well. Really enjoyed this brew.
We loved it!
Interesting rich fruitiness. The pecan and chocolate come through with some banana. If too much sugar is added it will taste like banana bread
A little too acidic, I want darker roasts with more nutty flavors
