The Colombia Palmera was carefully roasted for you by Stay Golden Coffee Co. This Fully Washed coffee was grown 1,500 meters above sea level and was processed at Aromas del Sur in Pitalito in the Huila region of Colombia.
I really wanted to like this as these guys are in my hometown. This tasted fairly dark considering they had it listed as a light roast. I also think the beans might have been stale in this bag. When I received, there was no bloom during pre-infusion and whether used for espresso or pour over, the extraction times were very short, causing me to grind way finer than for anything else I've had recently. I was not a fan.
The funny thing is, the coffee actually smelled terrific right after grinding. Lots of distinct aromas and didn't smell dark or stale at all. It just didn't translate to that in liquid form. Seeing the other positive reviews here makes me think I just got a bad bag. I may give it another shot in the future.
Absolutely phenomenal. I love how light it is. Literally tastes like fruit juice!
It wasn’t the best. I had better the flavor was not pronounced.
Really nice distinctive cup; clean tasting though not as bright as a central american
I don't know if it's that it's more acidic or what, but it doesn't taste quite right to me (tastes). I'd give it a 2.5 if I could.
Digging these beans, arrived fresh, nice packaging and very drinkable.
Makes a really nice iced americano (nice creama for roast level), balanced taste as pourover (chemex & v60) and auto drip (bonavita).
thumbs ups from me and the better half. She
Strawberry, my favorite
Tasting notes are correct: med light; strawberry is good acid; balanced.
Definitely like the smooth but bright and fruity notes!
The notes of caramel are strong and really upfront, which provide a "warm" sense to the coffee. The hints of strawberry are sometimes subtle or not noticeable, but overall the coffee is something that I would drink in the morning as well as something that I would drink just lounging around. A bag fan overall of fruity notes, and think I may enjoy caramel in the future.
Received a bag of old coffee (with a fresh date sticker on it). No matter how it was ground in my Baratza Vario, it wouldn't extract properly. All signs point to old beans. Smelled terrible.
Tastes light - more so than the usual colombian coffee I have
While drinking this coffee black, there was a distinct folgers-esque flavor profile.
The taste is good, but it has a smell to it that made us not want to drink it :(
I thought it was fine, but my partner did not like it at all. Reminded her of manure.
Great light roast, especially for cold brews
Drank it black, through a chimes. Smooth and flavorful.
Fruity and earthy. Makes a decent light roast cup of coffee.
I normally like a medium roast with fruity notes, but this one rubbed me the wrong way — was kinda sour/acidic in the way stomach acid is. Did not care for it in the French press AT ALL, but it made an alright espresso, thank goodness!
Great in the V60 once I dialed it in. A little more chocolate flavors than I would typically go for, but well balanced.
This has been a nice lighter start to the morning. I was hoping for a fruitier note but I still enjoyed. The packing is pretty, I'm a designer so I am kind of a sucker for looks haha.
Very fruity - good coffee for Springtime mornings!
Sweeter notes, aroma not indicative of its flavor. Great with a pastry, as the added sugar amplifies the whole thing. Would get again.
Light and acidic, easy drinking.
Fantastic! Loved this coffee.
To sourer and sweet for my taste
Wow! My first bag from you all, I’m 100% confident I can drink this coffee black. It’s absolutely delicious.
