This is the Panama Camiseta brought to you by Barefoot Coffee Roasters. Grown by the various small holder producers in the Boquete region at 1,300 - 2,000 meters, this fully washed coffee is a perfect example of why we love coffees from Panama.
This isn't a bad coffee but it tastes totally generic to me, it has no identity and is uninteresting. I had to grind it a little coarser than usual for V60 because it drains a bit slower. I taste the caramel first, second, and last.
Pretty good cup of pour over. Nothing noteworthy in the flavor profile, seemed a bit muddled.
There is nothing wrong with this coffee, but the caramel is a more prominent flavor than I personally prefer. If the balance leaned more towards the fruit I'd be much happier. The cup of coffee is super clean though and you can tell it's another quality roast from Barefoot.
This one works really well at 16:1. Any stronger and it gets harsh.
Depending on my coffee:water ratio in my aeropress brew, pretty fruity sometimes (more water and shorter steep time), and very caramel-chocolate otherwise (less water, longer steep time)
