This is the Rwanda Athanase Ndagijimana brought to you by 1000 Faces Coffee Roasters. Athanase Ndagijimana grows Red Bourbon on his 1.6 hectare farm in the Remera Sector of the Gatsibo District of Rwanda and delivers cherry to the Humure station. His coffee is kept separate throughout the entire process of sorting, drying, storing, milling, etc, which is no easy feat. The majority of coffee in Rwanda is grown on extremely small farms (on average, less than 1 hectare), and lots are more traditionally compiled via collection of cherry from thousands of smallholders at the centralized stations. This unique offering has us thinking of juicy pomegranate, blackberry, and butterscotch.
