This is the Espresso Toro brought to you by Colectivo Coffee. Simple and straightforward, this coffee was intentionally blended with coffees from Brazil, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Sumatra to appeal to a wide audience of coffee lovers. Toro delivers a harmonious and rich profile with notes of chocolate and orange with a long, bittersweet finish.
I try to write a review that provides a good representation of the coffee I have been sent. I have made my way through half the bag and it is still has some mystery to it (if that doesn’t describe this then I don’t know what does). It’s a beautifully smooth -espresso falls right between thick and thin espresso pulls every time. The taste is balanced and can be had as a plain espresso shot (you can taste that it is sweet, but not to sweet, but not bitter). I prefer this as a cappuccino or latte. I have had sips that were nutty - the taste was subtle but noticeable (I’m not reaching with that statement). After making fresh ground bean, I can feel that they have a nice oil to them when I take them out of my grinder. The coffee will become a staple in my kitchen if they keep sending out roasts like this.
Deep Chocolate, perfect balance
Really great Espresso! Perfect balance, not too dark, not too light!
Wasn't really into this as much, felt pretty average but maybe I just wasn't making it correctly.
Loved. The most beautiful pulls I've seen in months, nutty, touch of citrus, complex, and incredibly sweet. Bag says bittersweet finish, so I was cringing thinking it was going to be overly bitter like every other coffee with that description. However, the sweetness is so prominent. Milk brings a butteriness and rounds out the acidity to give a cup that warms you from the inside out. This one is delicious as an espresso as well.
Wonderful espresso! A nice little touch of fruit along with a classic chocolate full bodied flavor.
I tried this coffee with my French Press, Aeropress, drip, and espresso machines. Overall, the coffee was roasted too strong for my taste and the flavor did not have enough complexity (I like when I can taste several flavors through a sip). The coffee worked pretty well with the French Press and it was average as an espresso. It did not like it with my drip and aeropress. Thank you
Excellent coffee, would buy again
Good and tasty espresso. A little think on the body for me, but also held up well for more than 2 weeks.
Too bitter for my taste.
Like it a lot, but didn't love it. A little light for my taste.
Enjoyed the thick rich flavor in my morning cappuccino! It has a very distinct finish which is nice but not my favorite. But then, I am still trying get a better shot.
Too strong for my tastes. Prefer lighter espressos
Loved this one!!!
Delicious. Dark and strong taste with no bitter after taste.
Definitely a dependable espresso, but I honestly didn't see anything "special" with this - somewhat bland. Also, took me longer than usual to dial this shot in, but that could just be me.
This espresso is ok, It pairs nicely with milk, but almost gets lost. The finish is a tad bitter. Overall its a decent middle of the road espresso.
Very light espresso. Flavorful but I really disliked this coffee to the point that I actually said "bleh" . I rely on dark roasts.
I felt it made a pretty weak pour over, but the espresso shots I pulled were really interesting. Lots of natural sweetness with good bitterness.
really love this coffee, i like the chocolate and what i'm imagining as a low acidity? It tastes smooth.
This espresso is pretty easy to drink, I would like a little less bitterness.
Could go a tiny bit darker roast, otherwise great, very smooth
