The Friend Zone Decaf was blended and roasted for you by Cat & Cloud Coffee. This decaf coffee is from the Sidamo region of Ethiopia and was produced by small holder producers between 1,700 - 1,900 meters. It was naturally processed before being decaffeinated using a 100% water process decaffeination method. The cup is balanced with notes of molasses and graham cracker sweetness and a sprinkle of blackberry fruitiness.
As far as decafs go, I was pleasantly surprised by this one.
Very enjoyable decaf!
Nice earthy taste from the blackberry.
Brewed as espresso.
Nothing stands out about this coffee but it's good.
Robust but smooth and balanced
This is one of the best decafs i'd have for making espresso
Best decaf there is. Very similar to Cat & Cloud's "The Answer".
I like the depth of flavor and the fruitiness.
Smooth but tasteless to me. Forgettable.
Too dark for out tastes, seemed to lack depth, although good.
Bitter for my taste
A little flat
Too light of a roast for liking.
Properly extracted, this coffee is full of sweet fruity flavors. The molasses notes come out beautifully in a strong woody feeling that shows up as you swallow it. Owing to it being a lighter roast, it likes a longer extraction time to fully pull out all the wonderful flavors.
I've never been much of a decaf person, but as I was looking for something to sip on later in the evenings, I decided to give this a shot. I was really impressed. I had no trouble getting this dialed in for espresso which is what I exclusively brewed this as. Not only that, but it was full bodied, had nice milk chocolate and baking spice flavors, and was super consistent from shot to shot. I had to do virtually no extra dialing in as the bag aged. It held up great through about 3-4 weeks.
This coffee was not for me. I have found I don’t like fruit flavored coffee.
It was too weak. The first day it taste fine, but after a few days the flavor started to go away quickly.
Brewed in Aeropress, was fantastic
Uneventful, but fine.
Very full flavored and aromatic for a decaf coffee. Not too darkly roasted, allowing for some acidity and berry notes to remain.
Best Decaf I have had, but tricky for espresso
This was a bit bitter that I couldn't seem to find a way around - cream, grind, etc. Just always a bit too strong.
Super impressed with these beans! One of the best Light roast decafs I’ve ever had. Flavor notes are spot on!
Like this a lot
Made some black iced coffee (James Hoffman method) and LOVED the vibrant flavor of this coffee. Still new with terminology, but this was a winner. Very balanced.
Perfect cup of decaf for those not wanting caffeine throughout parts of their day. Well balanced.
Absolutely amazing. There is a lovely molasses sweetness to the roast and the berry notes pull through both warm and room temperature. This cup was wonderful as an evening pour-over. No metallic notes typical to "decaf" detected.
Solid choice, especially for a decaf.
I feel like the flavor of this coffee is off, it has an odd aftertaste.
This coffee was a little overroasted for my taste.
Perfect all around. Smooth, rich, low acid
This was great! Not too sour, a bit of berry, and still some toasty sugar on top of the basic coffee flavor that holds up through the milk in my cappuccino. For a decaf, 4 stars.
good roast level, good flavor
Amazing, smooth, richly sweet. My favorite coffee in a while from my mistobox. Love this one.
