This is the Guatemala Finca Jazmin brought to you by Passion House Coffee Roasters. Grown by Ranferi Alberto Gonzales Morales on his farm Finca Jazmin in the Huehuetenango region at 1,630 meters, this fully washed coffee is a perfect example of why we love coffees from Guatemala. The cup is clean and balanced with a pleasant acidity and a chocolate finish.
This coffee was ok, but more on the darker side than I prefer. My preferences are very far on the light, bright, citrusy side. I could see subtle hints of that oil texture that comes along with a dark roast. To be clear, this was not a dark roast at all, just had darker notes than I am used to.
Balanced and pleasant. A good cup in the morning.
Refreshing cup of coffee in the mornings. I enjoyed it more as it cooled.
Took me a little longer than usual to dial this one in. Ended up with 22g in and 36g out at 201F. Got a chocolate/hazelnut taste with a citrus finish. Mouthfeel was heavy and thick. I had a good time playing around with this one. The bean definitely evolved for the better 10 days after roast.
Great tasting, smooth and sweet.
I made this brew using a Chemex slightly weaker than what has been stated on various websites (I used 18g coffee grounds per 12oz water). It was better than the previous roaster! I guess I prefer slightly weak coffee (I don't need a hairy chest!) No bitter taste, but it was slightly acidic and sour--kinds of like a tart apple. It was mellow so each sip was a gentle hello and not a scream in my face. It also blended perfectly with a dash of coconut milk to make a well round cup of coffee.
It was really great! The smoothness was just perfect, now i just wished it had more flavor while keeping it smooth!
Please send different origin...after asking for an african origin coffee with light roasting and berry/stonefruit forward tones I was sent another guatemala with medium profile and chocolate forward tones. Really would appreciate if you sent a different coffee to me for this month seeing as this is month 2 of 3 I have. I have not opened this bag yet out of preparation to send it back if needed
I'd drink this every day. A bit of body, no bitter. None of the fruity/berry explosion of some african beans, but this is tasty in that medium roast way.
Very nice. I haven't been able to get it to blow me away, but have come close with a fast pour over, keeping the swirl high but with a low bed
Get chocolate notes right off the bat with a lingering acidity of a lighter fruit, like a crisp green apple. We even were able to pick up some apricot in it as well.
