This coffee will be fresh roasted for you. We expect Dillanos Coffee Roasters will roast and ship this coffee in 1-2 business days depending on their roasting schedule.
This is the Lucent Blend brought to you by Dillanos Coffee Roasters. Deep, rich and well rounded, Lucent creates a sparkling shot of espresso or blends perfectly with milk. These beans were grown by various small producers in Brazil, Ethiopia and Papua New Guinea. This coffee is full bodied and creamy with notes of caramel, molasses, nougat and black cherry.
Loved this for espresso, my favorite Mistobox in a while
I think 'full bodied' must be a codeword for 'acrid' because there is no discernible fruit in this coffee, nor caramel, just the unadulterated flavor of diner coffee that has sat on the burner all day. Not good.
Not strong enough
A simple high-quality coffee, but lacks depth.
Don’t think the favor matches the profile, but still a smooth drinking coffee.
Really nice! Full bodied and delicious.
Excellent balance between bold espresso & brighter. Lots of flavor going on.
A really good quality coffee, with a truly spectacular aroma, but I found it to be very sour. I tried every trick I could think of with grind size, extraction temperature, shot length. Maybe it was just my technique, but I couldn’t seem to get it right. To be fair, I’m much more into the earthy/chocolate flavors, so I may have been trying to make this coffee taste different than it was supposed to taste.
Really love the flavor of DCR's Lucent. I taste more chocolate and caramel than I do fruit. It had a very consistent pull over the entire batch -- I never had to adjust the grind setting. Beautiful in the cup, and yummy on the taste buds.
Too acidic, flat flavor.
Loved this, a little light but very easy to pour and holds up over time
Pleasant but not particularly interesting, especially in milk
Good for lattes, but was a tad off.
Deep flavor. Some bitter notes.
Was very good
Very good. Lot’s of nice flavor, great smell from day 1 to day 14.
Great flavor, good for espresso. Wouldn’t mind trying something slightly darker for espresso next time.
This was incredible!!!
Favorite coffee so far.
Better than a lot of their stuff I guess but still kinda bland
I particularly liked this light roast - one of the few I've tried that still has great body, is easy to grind and delivers a slightly lighter, more balanced flavor than most espresso roasts. I would give it 6 stars if I could.
Double shot with 4oz. of steamed milk. 18g. 30 seconds on the dot, didn't measure oz. Crema settled quickly. Slight bitterness, sweet caramel, scent of wood. It was hard for me to pick up the cherry. Great espresso, but I will reserve the 5 star for "mind blowing" taste.
This was a very interesting blend. I really love Brazilian coffees in milk based espresso drinks. I also love Ethiopian coffees in general, but especially as espresso. Unfortunately, this coffee was extremely dark. It says it is a light roast, but this is the second darkest roast I've ever tried. While this coffee is excellent in espresso based milk drinks, it is one the worst as espresso
I love(d) it. My espresso machine has been acting up, so I never got a chance to try this out with that, but I tried both the Aeropress and the Chemex with the Lucent Blend, and found the Chemex coffee to be delicious. The Aeropress coffee came out a little more bitter than I prefer, but I may have to give it another go. I really could taste the caramel, nutty, cherry flavors. It's some solid, full-bodied stuff and wasn't overly fruity. I and my wife also enjoy adding a splash of milk to our coffees occasionally, so the Lucent Blend was good because it didn't end up seeming watered down, and the flavors didn't get lost.
Little more oily than I normally use and slightly fruit forward but great coffee! The caramel flavors def came through here (I didn't get the nutty flavors). Tasted better with milk rather than an espresso shot. Would be happy to get this again.
Definitevely not good for espresso
Indeed full bodied and caramel nuttiness, but a bit more roasty than I was expecting, . It had a creaminess about it that was interesting.
really makes an excellent shot of espresso
Best coffee thus far. Full bodied with zero bitter. Notes caramel but I sense strong hints of mocha. Brilliant!
Very good and very enjoyable. I am only giving it a 4 stars because I am sure there is something better, there always is. I would definitely buy this again. Not sure if I pick up the caramel or nutty flavors.
I liked this one for a good basic cup of coffee. It was a bit acidic, and I wish the flavor was a bit more complex, but overall it's really good!
It was pretty good, problem is my cat nicked over my espresso machine and broke it before I could make some. So I French pressed it
Getting anot her espresso machine soon hopefully
This coffee has a good flavor; however, it has a bit of a strange after-taste. It definitely is full-bodied!
The taste was ok, pretty mild. The freshness was nice and had the best crema we've seen so far. The smell was AWFUL. It smelled somewhat rancid, like spoiled milk. I may be more sensitive to it because I'm pregnant but others agreed it wasn't pleasant. At first I couldn't bring myself to taste it but the smell didn't come through on the taste once I did.
The coffee is fine. I tried it in a cappuccino, mocha and straight shot. I am not an expert, and I'm used to a darker roast so take my comments as merely a description and not whether the coffee is good or bad. Too mild for my taste buds. The roast/aroma does not come through the milk.
Coffee smells of blueberries! I thought it was an accidental shot at first, but time after time I would get the smell of fresh blueberries in the cup. I was only going to give it 4 stars at first because it seemed like no matter what I did it was on the bitter side. However, I did end up with a sweeter shot once and that was absolutely 5 star worthy.
It works best as a single espresso shot and drunk right then and there. Made into an Americano whether single or double and drunk right then and there it's okay. Drunk later even in a good thermos it goes stale. Would love more flavor.
Good coffee - have enjoyed it so far.
We loved this blend so much. I loved the flavor they really came out I could taste everything listed on the package. He also loved the flavor notes. It was a really smooth espresso for me. We used it in lattes with coconut milk.
Lucent is a very smooth rich bodied coffee, lower acidity than I prefer, but delicious non the less.
Solid espresso. Great straight or as a latte. Nice layered sweet and nutty flavors.
I generally prefer a darker roast. However, this was nice when I made it in my Bialetti Moka Express.
As advertised, this makes great espresso and blends perfectly with milk. :) Also tried it as regular coffee (pour over) and it was a bit too strong/bitter for my palate. Will stick with lattes for this one.
I love the richness of this coffee. Delicious! I really enjoy Ethiopian blends from what I've tried.
I liked this one. More caramel-like than nutty. Brewed on an intalian percolator, pretty good for the morning coffee to start the day.
Great taste, smooth, goes well with latte
Smooth cup! Great taste.
Very smooth, nice balanced flavors. makes a great latte
One of our favorites so far. Full bodied with just enough complexity. Great as an espresso or cappuccino.
Great dark nutty Americano. Smooth Latte. Dig this one.
Enjoyed the subtle hint of berries. Too bad my grinder couldn't grind these fine enough. Used for drip instead of espresso.
Big dark chocolate flavor. Rich texture. Could be sweeter. Not picking up much in the way of citrus.
A nice nutty and sweet tasting blend not too bright. It was mild yet bold in flavor and subtle notes of hazelnut, almond and honey.
Excellent smooth nutty flavor. Versatile, brewed a great shot of espresso but made an even better cup of french press. Flavors not necessarily bright or sharp enough for a typical pour-over, but an excellent go-to for a morning cup
I wanted to put five because I'm easy to please but my husband said to give it four stars. I like it. Rich flavor.
Not a bad medium roast
Perfect for any espresso based drink
One of my favorites
Well roasted to my taste profile (not to second crack and not oily)
A bit nutty, but a bitter aftertaste. A little too lightly roasted for me I think, plus it stayed cloudy even after sitting awhile. Not my favorite, but not bad.
Too light for my taste.
Tastes good and blends well with milk for a nice cappuccino
It is an excellent blend and I am in love with it! I want more.
One of the best roasts I've had so far from Misto. Exactly what I was looking for with the exception of having a little sweetness on the end. Pours a very good shot. Robust, a bit of smokiness. Excellent.
Makes terrific espresso -- very smooth and a bit fruity!
well rounded--everything is ok, nothing jumps out as great...
Great blend!! Enjoyed the caramel tone of this coffee.
The coffee is very fresh and smooth, but it has a winey smell that some might not like Probably from its African side..
Lynn and Gary
Wonderful blend, an excellent cup of espresso. It is a dash milder than we would like but thats better than a dash burnt. I hate burnt espresso. We will continue to but this, I like it's complicated flavor, hints that make you go "I could drink this all day".. Love
LOVE. Have found myself craving a cup throughout the day. Will definitely buy again.
Was not my favorite flavor
I really, really liked this selection. The flavor was delicious and it was strong in just the way I like it. If I had to critique, I'd say I did find myself wishing the flavor was stronger (less watery), but I found that grinding the beans finer helped with this. We're off to a helluva start Connor and Mistobox :) I'm really like the coffee and the way you run the service. Excited for the next shipment!
This is a well balanced espresso, with a nice almond/cherry flavor. It's a bit too dark a roast for me to enjoy straight, but it would probably be quite good in a cappuccino or macchiato.
Definitely a sweet coffee, with good texture as well. I'm pulling on the shorter side, and it's still pretty full bodied.
The coffee was good, however, I don't feel I was able to brew it properly as it's an espresso blend. I tried brewing it multiple ways, and it was only good. Never great.
Lucent will probably forever be my favorite.
Delicious and intricate, but a little on the lighter side — which, mind you, is what I wanted, to explore the lighter side of coffee.
Tastes good after it's settled for 24hrs in a thermos. Straight from the drip, it has hints of harshness like you'd find on an espresso - a bit meh. Although bright, its best detail is the smell post-grind, Not worth the $22 the bag goes for month-to-month. Maybe it is different in an aeropress...?
