The Sumatra Mutu Batak was carefully roasted for you by Bird Rock Coffee Roasters. This Mutu Batak lot comes from the Lintong region of Humbang Hasandutan. At 1,000 to 1,400 meters above sea level, this region has some of the highest growing altitudes in North Sumatra.

Good flavors, but too dark for my tastes.

I could see it was light, but it tasted so bitter and off-putting. The fruit was barely discernible. We had it as V60 pour overs and Americanos, and no one in our household liked it. A far cry from typical single origin light roasts.

A little acrid and bitter after brew, needed some dairy to mellow out the flavor
