This coffee will be fresh roasted for you. We expect Spyhouse Coffee Roasting Co will roast and ship this coffee in 1-2 business days depending on their roasting schedule.
The Orion Espresso was carefully roasted for you by Spyhouse Coffee Roasting Co. Orion was designed to produce a unique espresso blend accentuating the elegance of chocolate and the complex nature of sweet fruit. Each character plays its role to balance and accentuate the others. In unison, they create Orion: rich and silky in body, covering a range of chocolate tones with balancing notes of dark berries and citrus highlights. Try as cold brew or iced coffee when the temperatures rise and you are looking for something to sip over ice.
Lightened up the grams per oz on this one to finally get the character to express. Nice as pour over as well.
Didn’t love this, tastes too nutty and grassy.
I really love this coffee especially for cold brew. Was strong which is exactly what I’m looking for in an espresso or cold brew. I need to try it hot but it’s been so
Hot outside I haven’t wanted to yet. I really liked the notes in this. I thought this one was my favorite but then. Received the funky chicken decaf by red rooster and that one topped this one but this one is a close second.
Good, Jessica liked it
A little too burnt, and flat tasting.
It’s just ok to me. It doesn’t have much of a chocolate taste to me. It has berry and fruit notes to me with a bitter aftertaste.
Will definitely order again
The best way I could describe this roast is a daily driver. Clean and consistent but nothing spectacular about it. I would prefer something a bit more interesting.
We didn't really like it. Thought it tasted sour
Brighter than I expected it to be.
The base taste of the espresso was not my favorite, those dark cherry notes I think are the part I dont like
This was ok, the first two cups did not have a lot of flavor to them. The third and fourth cups had a better taste to them. Wouldn’t pay for another bag of it but if available at a coffee shop and the only espresso blend I would get it.
Just meh, not bad
A bit too fruity
It made a very smooth rich cup of espresso.
Very little flavor. Even tried with enough grounds for a double espresso. Awful.
Loved the flavor on the first few days, definitely enjoyed the complex fruit and chocolate flavors, but lost some of the sublteties pretty quickly, Much weaker taste a 5-6 days in. But solid chocolate aftertaste
It was okay. It has a rich smell and a dark chocolate taste.
I’ve gone back and forth on this one, but I’ve finally landed on liking it, brewed as hot bloom/cold brew poured over ice with a splash of cream.
I recently purchased a burr (vs blade) grinder and compostable bags for the grounds, and it makes quite a difference!
Good, but nothing great.
Great taste of cherries. Wish to improve my coffee-machine for it
Easy to dial in as espresso, and repeat shots are consistent. I agree that this presents the "elegance of chocolate." Orion Espresso definitely has chocolate notes, accentuated with a fruity acidity (but not too much). Pairs well with milk, and is outstanding when made as a mocha. Not amazing as a pour over, but that's not what it's made for.
Rich is right, great-tasting coffee
Balanced not overly fruity
This is an excellent coffee. Rich, with chocolate undertones and a creamy mouth feel, and no bitterness.
It was a little too light
Just okay, a little bitter and one noted. No complexity of flavor
Travis likes this, so A+ in my book.
Complex fruity notes, well balanced and smooth. Really enjoyed this one.
Unexpected creamyness that really helps me enjoy the chocolate notes that I'm usually not too in to. And it doesn't get too crazy with the chocolate. Makes a really nice espresso, for me.
It was fine, not my favorite, but not bad at all
OK but not great
Surprisingly easy to dial in for espresso for the lightness of the roast. Michelle likes this one. It is more sweet and light then expected, but in a good way.
I enjoyed the balance in the coffee and its not-too-bright nature.
Pretty darned solid.
Good, rich creamy caramel espresso. Stays creamy in milk.
Some of the creamiest, most delicious espresso I've ever made!
a lot of great flavor notes - well balanced - would definitely get again or something very similar
Not a fan. Could not get a slow drip because of how thick fhe ground was and the flavor was just okay.
This is one of the best blends i've had!
This was a really great espresso blend. We drank it way too fast. :)
Rich and chocolatey.
Nuanced, multiple layers of soft cocoa, sweet red fruit, and rich berries provide an incredibly aromatic bouquet. The smooth, round mouthfeel and thick crema this produces when pulled as a shot on my Rancilio Silvia has me looking forward to ordering another bag. Very impressive!
The lighter roast made it difficult to extract fully on (my cheap) home espresso machine. The under-extracted espresso tasted sour, flat and drying.
Pleasant chocolate body with a nice berry finish. Satisfying cup.
Very good, fruit sweetness, chocolate-y.
It was very rich, brewed very strong with my chemex pour over process.
Quality -- if you're looking for a very rich strong cup this is your bean.
Do not like this one at all, doesn’t taste like espresso at all either
So many incredible coffees.
My favorite espresso so far. Wonderfully balanced with a creamy sweet body and delicious fruity notes. Pairs beautifully with the fruity floral notes of an espresso tonic! :)
Brew with Chemex and aero press. One of my favorites in a while
This coffee was pretty weak, disappeared quickly in lattes.
My favorite - don't need to shop anymore (for now)
we really liked this one. Nice fruit, not to dark.
Delicious. Not too dark as to overshadow all the other flavors.
Another new favorite.
An excellent espresso. Raspberry tart with dark chocolate. Will add this to my queue again!
Overall, as a first shipment, I am satisfied with the flavor of the coffee. First brew espresso extracted the chocalate and the dried berry flavor in the tasting note. However, it could have been better with stronger fruit flavor and sweeter taste. Adjusting the grind sizes and yields made weaker fruit note, feeling tricky to dialing in the best shot.
This is a very tasty espresso! I liked the sweetness and depth of this coffee
Favorite one yet!
One of the smoothest espressos I have ever had. No harsh flavors, just a smooth clean shot.
Could be a little heavier/bold, but still worked for my iced latte preference. Very smooth.
For me, this one is just OK.
Good balanced espresso, tastes good by itself and with milk. Nothing I didn't like about this coffee, good chocolate flavor without acidity or bitterness.
Best coffee yet. Very chocolaty and rich.
hands down my new favorite espresso.
Nice and balanced. I liked it
really delicious coffee. enjoy drinking it everday!
Will def. be buying this again!
More burnt than rich.
Like this one but am getting the same coffees. Would like something different
The coffee was pretty good, however with the espresso blend consisting of different size and density of bean made the grind a little challenging to pull the shots accurately. A bit on the bright side.
This was 4 to 4.5 stars although it took me a little longer to find the right grind. I thought it was well balanced with a nice after taste.
nice balanced body.
I mix these beans with other beans.
This is by far THE BEST coffee I've ever brewed at home. It makes the perfect latte. I could not say enough good things about this coffee. AMAZING!
Very delicious; Complex flavors; Delicious with milk. I highly recommend this espresso blend.
Probably the best one yet.
Clean and tasty espresso. Chocolate and plum.
love this! very rich, chocolately, definitely our favorite so far
Latest batch was not as good as past Orion blends. Was tricky to dial in and never gave a great pour for me. Flavors were a bit muted and single (chocolate-y) note. Better in cappuccino than a straight espresso.
Great coffee... would love to drink something like this again. There is a slight bitterness to the after-taste which is the main reason I would give this a 4 star.
