The Papua New Guinea Sigri was carefully roasted for you by Dawson Taylor Coffee Roasters. This Fully Washed coffee was grown 1,500 - 1,700 meters above sea level in the Wahgi Valley of the Western Highlands in Papua New Guinea.
I don’t think I like “full bodied and earthy” I think I like fruit and citrus. (Light to medium or light roast)
The packaging (with the side "zipper") seems like a good idea but doesn't work. The pull strip tore off and I ended up having to just cut the top of the bag off to get to the coffee. Same thing happened with an earlier bag packaged that way.
Nice light coffee with a clean, slightly sour ("wine-like") finish. Would make a good after dinner coffee.
I generally prefer flavorful, mildly-fruity light roasts and this was definitely not that. Tasted a little over-roasted (the suggested earthy aroma I guess) and bland, not particularly distinguishable from grocery store beans.
Great coffee! Wonderfully roasted and awesome taste!
Really liked the full body, but light finish.
To the taste, this coffee was def a lighter roast than my last subscription coffee, but instead of tasting brighter, I felt it had a dull finish. I incorporated my Gabi Drip Master B into my pour over brew method, and that saved the coffee for me. It brought out more of the flavor notes that were otherwise muted. It does have an overall earthy taste. Not one I need to try again soon.
