The Santee Alley was blended and roasted for you by Bixby Roasting Co. It is named for the area of downtown Los Angeles where Bixby was hatched. This bold roast is perfect with cream and something sweet or to enjoy black - it makes for one truly robust cup.
good solid coffee, not as good as Storeyville but close
Not quite up to the previous coffees on first impression (3 star). Subsequently found it to be 4-star coffee. Not sure why this was sent twice (the second coffee we received was also the same).
The beans are oily so not ideal for automatic espresso machines
Not that good.
AMAZING! This is a dark full body coffee! I love it! I drink it with just a little sugar, sit on my balcony, and watch the sun rise!
A quality cup. A little watery using my drip machine, but I liked the dark and mildly malty flavor.
Loved it. Bold, full of flavor.
Nice flavor and body
Very dark and rich
A bit more acidic than I was expecting. Tastes better through an espresso machine than a moka pot.
Over-roasted. Tastes burned.
This coffee was a French/Italian roast - oily, dark. Lacked some flavor, reminded me of Starbucks. French roast is not for me
Better than expected - would definitely try again
Fantastic. Loved it. Great flavor.
Not a fan
Would I drink it again? Sure. Dream coffee, ehh
Don't like the dark chocolate
Flavor was pretty good, but just tend to prefer lighter blends.
I really enjoyed this one, definitely my favorite so far, I liked it more than the Kaldi or Alma
It was good but oily so it got stuck in the grinder a lot.
Too dark - I seem to be favoring lighter roasts recently. This was almost burnt tasting with a high clarity brew.
Good but a little too dark for my tastes
Rich and full flavor without being too intense
Too darkly roasted.
Over roasted, oily. Tastes like cheap supermarket dark roast. So bad after one brew I threw out the bag. Really disappointed.
Rich and so smooth.
Great tasting coffee, nice and dark. Felt like the caffeine content was low, but the flavor is spot on.
Tried drinking it black and it tasted a bit... thin? Drank it sweetened other days and it was fine. A little oily.
The logo was my favorite part! Definitely not an introductory coffee for someone just starting to appreciate this. It was slightly bitter with an oaky, bark flavor. It was strong but not full. I did not taste any dark chocolate or almond notes.
Brenda & Larry
Yum! Body is definitely better but could use more chocolate. Big improvement over first month.
This coffee is almost perfect. We've been enjoying it black the last few mornings. It has a bold flavor, a hint of sweetness and is just wonderful for these cold mornings.
Love this one!
A big and bold blend with a traditional coffee taste.
Smooth and rich.
To greasy of bean
Very robust, plenty of caffeine!!
Nice sweet notes on a very dark background. Heads up: very very oily bean.
