The Guatemala Mountain of Flowers was carefully roasted for you by Colectivo Coffee. It is composed of the highest-scoring micro-lots sourced from small communities near the town of San Miguel Dueñas. Grown in the famous Antigua region, it is harvested from 100 percent Bourbon cultivar trees at elevations ranging from 1,500 to 1,800 meters above sea level. This year’s Mountain of Flowers features flavors of citrus, dark chocolate, cherry, and tropical fruit with a sparkling acidity and creamy body.
A little finicky to brew. I'm actually pretty disappointed because I love Colectivo as a roaster. Grew up in Milwaukee, and aside Anodyne these are by far my favorite roasters in the area. Walking the balance of bitterness was more difficult than for most roasts. Flavor notes tend to come off as muted, even when brewed properly. Had trouble dialing in the grind. When I thought I dialed it in, suddenly the next brew comes out bitter again. I suspect it's an issue with my grinder, but then again I don't have this issue with most roasts. Pour over at 94C.
Really bad. I would rate 0 if possible.
This coffee is terrible. Collectivo is the joke of milwaukee and is commonly known to be a fair alternative to starbucks.
I really don't like paying $44 a month for TWO coffees from roasters less than a mile from me, especially when Collectivo sells this burnt blend for $12 at every grocery store in the state.
I thought it was over-roasted. The taste of smoke overpowered any other tasting notes. Bummer. Hopefully I just got a bad batch because it seems like a promising bean.
Unfortunately though it was marked delivered, I did not receive the coffee..
