This coffee will be fresh roasted for you. We expect Dillanos Coffee Roasters will roast and ship this coffee in 1-2 business days depending on their roasting schedule.
This is the Midway Blend brought to you by Dillanos Coffee Roasters. This blend was developed to hit the literal sweet spot between a medium and a dark roast. The level of development where acidity has been diminished yet bitterness has not been created. This blend works great as an espresso blend or as a filter coffee, brewed as drip or French Press. Expect a bold cup, with notes of baker's chocolate and candied walnuts.
Really good. Roasty and deeply flavorful without being bitter.
This tastes like burnt coffee (and no, we didn’t burn it, we did cold brew)
great coffee and a good blend between medium and dark. will certainly get this again
Loved this one--worked great as a cold brew. Nutty, caramel-y, low acidity.
I've really liked all of the DCR blends I've received.
An ass-kicking in a cup, if there ever was one. To its credit, this coffee required the right amount of beans/coffee to bring out flavor.
Smoky, sweet, rich
Just OK. Didn’t particularly care for the taste. And it was a wetter bean which doesn’t work well in my machine.
Smooth and sweet, bold enough for my tastes
This was too 'bold' for my taste...prefer nutter, lighter, less chocolatey blend.
Not suited for espresso at all.
I love this blend! It has a great balance of nutty, rich, and deep flavors.
I really like this coffee. Even though it is a dark roast, it is rich and sweet. I love the flavor!!
Great smooth round taste. Bold but not too sharp!
Candied walnut, oak, baker's chocolate
Not terrible, not anything to write home about either. I couldn’t seem to get much of the flavor. It was a decent cup. Nice body, nice aroma, balanced in mouthfeel, but I missed the nuances of flavor. Brewed consistently though which I did like.
Not impressed with DCR. Please don't send again
I liked using this in flavored lattes; the nutty and chocolate flavors went well with specific syrups. I got the best crema I've had yet using this coffee with my machine. By itself though, I thought the flavor was okay in general, but the chocolate and walnut overpowered the "coffee" taste too much.
Not very remarkable but OK. Very oily to grind.
DCR is great quality, but this one was a little light in flavor for me.
Very bold, but has a "burnt" taste to it.
Stronger and more bold i liked it the best out of all of these
Could you please mix it up some more? We've been getting DCR for months now. We like to try different brands and roasters.
A little to light
This is probably my least favorite coffee I've received so far. It's a little too bitter for my taste and the taste isn't rich enough.
Very good coffee. Closer to what I like, a little more bold, a little more complex than my previous two. Although my first coffees were very good and offered a change, this is more of my daily coffee type. I am looking forward to more offerings.
A little too midway for my taste.
This brew was delightful. It did have the perfect mix between medium and dark roast. There was not acidic taste nor bitter. I really enjoyed the chocolate and nutty notes from this blend.
It was good, but not quite dark enough!
We love this coffee. It has great deep flavor and is smooth. It is a great everyday morning coffee that I could see us drinking all the time.
I didn't love it, but it was still pretty good. A bit more bitter than I'd prefer, especially compared to the Vero just prior.
Loved this one. It was perfect and exactly how I like my coffee
Can I please have coffee other than Dillano's at this point? Thanks! I would really like to try other things.
A good coffee. But not as rich & full bodied as I like. Still the Intelligentsia I received in my first order is the one to beat!
The coffee came smelling freshly roasted. The flavor was more bitter and acidic than I typically like. But I appreciated the strong bold flavor of it. I would have liked something slightly less acidic and smoother. I did enjoy the great crema it produced.
Good and balanced - solid coffee.
Enjoyed the smooth flavor definitely a favorite!
Excellent bold taste. Slight Acid aftertaste noted. Used Arrowhead Spring bottled water and brewed using Krups automatic drip coffee with gold screen cone filter.
I liked the balance between bold and medium. Not too strong but heavier than a medium.
Enjoyed this coffee. It made a rich and well balanced espresso. Not too bitter/acidic or earthy. Nice notes of chocolate.
This was my favorite coffee so far
I really liked this one. It was rich and flavorful without being bitter. Nice choice.
First impression was that it was smooth and balanced. Roast level seemed middle of the road. Not too light not too dark. The flavors I pick up are woody and earthy. No fruit. I liked the balanced, smooth, roasty characteristics. I liked it, but it's not something I would crave.
Good flavor, very drinkable. Almost too light though
Great bold taste that lasts from espresso to brew.
extremely dark roast--grinds come out in oily clumps. not my thing...
This is a good, but not great coffee. I think the bitterness was too strong and not enough flavorful tones for a great latte. I prefer a slightly lighter roast
As noted, this blend was perfect for both my morning cup (drip) and weekend espresso/cappuccino.
Loved it. Much preferred over the previous lighter roasts. Really nice flavor without bitterness.
Very very, very good. Not quite enough kick, but a great job of blending and roasting.
Addendum: Second bag of this bean isn't as good. Specifically, the aftertaste is...weird. I can't describe it but it's not coffee-like (the aftertaste). Hope the next batch of Midway is better, like the first.
Burnt taste. This is basically the opposite of what I'm looking for with Mistobox.
Great in the pourover, but a bit rough in the espresso machine (it had burnt undertones). Still a good cup of coffee either way. Looking forward to the next one!
We really enjoyed this blend. Smokey and very smooth!
Loved the smell of the beans. Rich flavor up front but did not have a lingering flavor on the back end.
Seth - would it be possible for my THIRD gift ORDER to be a coffee blend closer to the Starbuck's 'Pike's Peak' Flavor??? On the few occasions I go to Starbuck's, that is my blend of choice. If not, stay with my current flavor profile. Thank you.
Sorry for the delay in the review. The coffee was good, smooth yet bold. We didn't love the walnut tasting note, but didn't hate it either. Just not our favorite. I'm not much of a nut lover. Overall it did well in both aeropress and french press. The beans themselves were very oily and it made cleaning our burr grinder kind of a nightmare, but that's pretty standard with a lot of darker bolder roasts that I've had before.
I really like this coffee. I didn't think the flavor was too bold.
We have used this for our daily cappuccinos. While we like it, my wife and I both wish it was a bit more bold and flavorful. This morning I was actually getting a bit more bitterness than I wanted.
I really like this bold cup! It is almost bitter. Almost too much. But it is just perfect. It is roasty goodness. Very satisfying to drink in the morning.
This tastes like coffee and its smooth. I can taste the chocolate. Blends extremely well with my almond milk salted caramel creamer (1 tablespoon).
I liked the flavor, it wasn't very bitter, but I was hoping for a more robust flavor. It was described as chocolate and nutty, but I couldn't taste the chocolate at all, and only some cups did I get any nut flavor.
Another good coffee from Dillanos; frankly we prefer this one over the Metro French roast. Definitely a stronger coffee, and surprisingly insensitive to ham-fisted V60 pours. Notes are spot-on; had a bit of a difficulty extracting a sweeter cup, but this did not ruin the experience.
Not sure if something wrong with this batch. But this is undrinkable. even with milk there is a foul burnt taste that this coffee is giving off.
Getting on the right track now. Good flavor, love the boldness and strong flavor characteristics. More like this please!
This one tastes bolder than the Atomic blend, but has a smoother, less bitter taste to me. I like this one, but I'd also enjoy something less bold.
For what it's worth, I use an Aeropress, water at around 180°, with a 2 minute brew time. I've used a slightly less fine grind with this blend that has helped with the boldness.
A very smooth and balanced cup, chocolatey notes with no bitterness.
This is a great middle of the road blend as indicated. It is a medium roast and is pleasant to drink. Personally looking for something more chocolaty.
Merav Stern &
Falling crema when brewed as espresso. Otherwise, tasted great!
I concur with those who said this was overly bitter and lacking in depth of flavor.
Every Brew out of my Espresso machine has been excellent. VERY freshly roasted. The taste is true to its description and wonderful.
I like the flavor. Nice and bold!
This is a bit darker than I typically like my coffee. It is smooth considering how dark it is roasted just not to my taste.
not quite bold enough
I did have it in the french press each time. It was ok. I feel it was a little to heavy for my stomach. I don't think i enjoy the nutty flavors. I did like how it was dark and bold though.
Was really bored with it by the end.
Tasted relatively light rather than bold.
Not much depth to flavor
This coffee was susceptible to notable flavor variations due to small differences of volume of grounds used. When measuring, I use a 2 Tbs. metal scoop; if I measure it level, the coffee is weak. Heaping, the coffee is okay, Somewhere between level and heaping, it was better. This is brewed with a 32 oz. french press and timed at 4 minutes.
A good coffee. Not as dark as advertised, but still too dark for me. I have come to realize that a dark roast is not for me as the flavor notes are masked too much by the dark roast itself.
Even darker roast preferred
Great flavour, very mild. Would like a little more zing
Really liked this one. Smooth and pretty rich.
Enjoyed this coffee as an espresso blend. Agree it's medium bold without bitterness and hits the noted flavor profiles. Next, I would like to try a level darker/bolder for comparison.
Brewed in drip machine, ground in Krups blade grinder. Resulting hot coffee was true to the description, very smooth on the palate. Great first box, thanks!
Great blend - low on acidity, which is preferred for us.
This is a good coffee but I like a fuller blend than this. My guests really liked it
Love it. I like the hint of chocolate in it.
Liked it, but a little too dark / bitter taste.
I liked it - more flavorful than Sumatra and complex - could be a little stronger next time. I actually have a hand grinder and will get it out for my next cup. Cheers
good for both espresso and drip makers
Excellent coffee! Very smooth and well balanced.

This coffee was a hit with all 12 adults at a family reunion. They wanted more!
great tasting coffee! No acidic sour flavor or after bitterness...just a smooth quintessential cup of coffee with hints of chocolate.
Great coffee, perfect for espresso or lattes, has a very nice finish taste to it. It has a slightly sour taste which is strange, I'm not sure if I like that part of it yet, but this is definitely one of the better beans I've had in the life.
Nice flavor, but missing the deep/richness of dark coffees that I like.
I thought this blend was well-balanced which is usually what I'm looking for in a coffee. Full flavor, but smooth. My first brew was using french press. My new pour over set arrives Thursday (old one broke), so I'm excited to try it this way as well.
had a little bit of a burnt flavor. I may be using too much coffee per cup of water.
There was something about this blend that I really didn't like. Too bitter maybe? Very hard for me to drink.
This is a really good and balanced blend. It's great black or with almond milk. It has a lot of flavor but isn't acidic and is not bitter.
Darker than I typically prefer and I did enjoy the chocolatey flavor, but too bold to drink daily for me.
Seth has a great description! Bold, but not too bold, and defiantly not burnt or "dark roasted". Great chocolate notes that carry throughout, a very satisfying cup of coffee!
I really enjoyed this blend.
This was good. Not too overpowering. I'd say I prefer something that coats the tongue and throat on the way down just a tad bit more.
I really liked the taste of this coffee, but for some reason it had a bit of an off-putting smell.
I really enjoyed this blend. It bold but had a nutty/earthy taste that was subtle and relaxing. A very pleasant cup of coffee.
This blend was really dark & bitter tasting. Didn't like it. Wah wah.
Really nice body not too thin, good notes of chocolate and fruit
I really liked this coffee not to bold but not to weak just right!! ;)
Too strong for our chemex.
Overly roasted, dark and oily, no roast dates.
Not nearly as aromatic as my first blend, which thus far is my favorite. I honestly really can't describe this coffee. I found it to be just that: Coffee. Not bad, but not great either.
not enough flavor
Ok, not something I'd get again, but not horrible. It's not light or dark, certainly medium, and doesn't seem to have much else going on. I found a bit bitter at the end. The first sip doesn't have that "great cup" smell. I like a bit more aroma than just coffee smell.
It was tasty, but didn't have as much flavor as I was hoping for.
This coffee was a little too dark for us, we'd love something lighter next time!
Perfect blend for my tastes. Not bitter or too burnt tasting.
Excellent! The description here says this coffee is bold, and they are absolutely correct! Very strong, chocolaty flavor that will not disappoint those seeking a bold taste. The flavor is simple, so if you're looking for a very complex coffee, this may not be for you, but if you want one with a seriously bold punch, this is the coffee for you! My favorite yet!
This blend is very bold and its taste has great depth. I especially enjoyed it in lattes and cafe au lait!
I really enjoyed this coffee--made my best cup since my recent switch to pour-over from automatic machines. It's a rich, complex coffee, reminds me of bitter dark chocolate. Before this I was using a lighter roast and I was struggling with under-extracted, acidic flavors; this coffee seems easy to extract correctly with no unpleasant acidity. I wish it had a roast date on the package, though.
More toward the dark side, but not too bitter
This was delicious; I really enjoyed it. It was full of flavor but not bitter at all, like some dark roasts can be.
This coffee is delicious. Its the perfect blend between light and dark, I love it!
Even though I like this coffee - I explicitly asked not to send me the "oily beans" coffee as my machine can be jammed with such beans (per brewing instructions). Please, select coffee, which has non-oily beans.Thank you
A little bitter in the first couple of sips but nice after that. Again, this was made as iced coffee.
I LOVED this coffee! Perfectly bold yet still smooth. Very rich and dense flavors that weren't overwhelmed by bitterness. Very drinkable dark roast.
Pretty delicious! Holding off on five stars until I try some more varieties out so I have somewhere to move up to in the ratings!
Not too dark but full of flavor. This coffee is perfect in every way.
Love this Coffee. It was the perfect cup and it was exactly what I was hoping for. Medium/Dark roast with a great finish
Extremely bold, chocolate note is very subtle. Much more bitter than expected for a bean trending more towards a lighter roast.

It was enjoyable nice coffee it had a pretty flavor. Really good
Based on the name you would think this coffee was a medium roast but it is much more of a dark roast, reminded me of a french roast and not in a good way.
Well balanced and flavorful. Easy to drink black and pairs well with most breakfasts.
The Midway Blend is much darker and oily than I would ever want again. It also is not complex in flavor, has no roast date, and is just too plain to use. I want medium roasts or light roasts only.
Really like the undertones of this coffee. It's more on the darker side but is still very palatable. I normally like more fruity coffees but was pleasantly surprised by this blend.
The beans look like they are caught between a medium roast and a dark roast, where most of the beans have just started to take on the shine of a dark roast. A very intriguing look. However, to me, this blend brews like a dark roast, has the aromas and flavors of a sweeter dark roast. I would call it similar to an Italian roast. It has a sweet and robust kick at the start, very smooth and just slightly earthy in the middle and finishes with notes of dark, DARK, chocolate. Very nice blend during the winter holiday season. For me, it was very tasty but overall, very average. Nothing mind blowing here. It brews a bit darker than I would prefer (or expected from the look of the beans), but nothing I would shy away from. I'd give it 3.5 stars if that was an option. A solid first pick to figure out my pallet Samantha!
Again I loved that it is very smooth. It has a rich taste.
I am a huge fan of always trying a new coffee, hopefully every shipment. That is part of the excitement for me. That being said, my first coffee, Dillanos midway blend is Amazing enough for me to put it at the top of my list of everyday coffees. You know how when you buy grocery store coffee you immediately head to the dairy aisle to buy those fancy flavored creamers? Yet, when you get home, the coffee just doesn't thrill you like Starbucks, or heck even Dunkin Donuts coffees did? Yeah, not the case with Dillanos. It is honestly such a quality coffee, that it tastes fabulous as it is. Adding those creamers with all the preservatives, oils and other chemicals in them would make the coffee taste worse not better. I know I tried this coffee both ways in the first day I had it . This is definitely a quality coffee if I like it sans cream and sugar because I typically hate black coffee, and I have drank two today which is the day after my shipment arrived! My profile guy did an awesome job selecting this one for me!
