This coffee will be fresh roasted for you. We expect Passion House Coffee Roasters will roast and ship this coffee in 1-2 business days depending on their roasting schedule.
The Bassline Espresso Blend was carefully roasted for you by Passion House Coffee Roasters. Here is an espresso for those who crave chocolate, nuts and a heavier body. Passion House still puts their little twist on espresso but have toned down the fruit and floral qualities they are known for. This espresso is a pretty perfect partner for milk. This cup is fantastically full bodied, with notes of chocolate and nuts.
I absolutely loved this! The moment I took a sip I was like ohhhh this is what incredible coffee should taste like! My husband on the other hand liked it, but prefered the Peet's dark roast beans.
A tad light, but great flavor
Very subtle and not as deep a flavor as the others
Excellent! Favorite one so far
The floral notes are subtle but are nice. It's been a little tricky to dial in, but that is probably just user error. Would like to try something more single origin next time.
Bland flavor, not nearly as good as Lavazza super crema.
This highlights why I dislike blends. They are next to impossible to dial in properly unless done very well. When I can get a proper extraction, it tastes okay but it is highly inconsistent.
This espresso is bomb. Very syrupy but still bright and juicy. Makes good v60 too.
Very bitter and acidic. Not enjoyable at all.
Ive had a decent amount of fresh roasted coffee. This doesn't taste fresh roasted to me. But who know. Wasn't my favorite. Not bad. Not Great. A little bit bold and dry. I think we like the more medium stuff for daily drinking which we are looking for here. I do like Illy medium espresso for espresso pretty well. Maybe more oily
It did not have much flavor. The beans were dry with no oils. Overall nothing special.
Could not get good extraction from this coffee.
I specifically requested no dark roast coffee beans in my shipments as they don’t work well with my Jura machine, which is the only thing I use for coffee.
Good cocoa notes, good black and even better with a little milk. The grind is a little too fine so I can’t make a full pot in my drip coffee maker without the filter getting clogged. Very nice medium roast. Very solid coffee.
Loved the chocolate notes
Good, interesting flavors
The roast was too light for my preference. It almost had a green grassy overtone.
Flavor profile is good but I like a coffee that is a bit more robust / full flavored.
Really consistent pull in my machine. Great taste with nutty note. Want something still a little darker.
Not my favorite
A little too fruity
Very bitter out of the espresso machine. Made good lates though.
I really dislike nutty coffees by the way....
10 to 9 grind
This coffee was great! Easy to dial in, with a very rich body and a surprising (and enjoyable) acidic finish. Will definitely add this one to my queue again.
Medium body. Decent flavor. An ok coffee.
It's easily my favorite so far; it is delicious, and there's no bitterness. It brews into a smooth, delicious cup of coffee
rich and easy to drink
Good medium-dark roast, notes of chocolate and pulling shorter or faster bring out a pleasant acidity and lemon flavors. Medium body and crema. No roast flavors, smooth. Goes well in milk or as shot.
Very good, super fresh
My lesson not to judge a book by its cover! I didn’t think I’d like this one based on its description, but this espresso is very nice. It’s smooth and chocolatey. It tastes warm and invokes feelings of sitting around a campfire. I really enjoyed this espresso.
Delicious! Smells like peanut butter and chocolate. Probably the best coffee I have ever tasted.
Very good, but lacking in richness or depth
Nice full bodied espresso that goes well with milk.
This one is good but has taken me a little bit to dial in a good double shot. The others have used around the same settings on my grinder but this one needed a coarser grind. Tastes smooth and good though. Excellent for iced coffee.
Edit: I’m taking a star off though it could be user error. I have not been able to pull a consistent shot and, while it tastes good, it makes a mess every time I make espresso.
Good flavor, makes some nice espresso.
It's a 7. Solid, Very smooth for an espresso; creamy caramel taste with out the usual distinctive bitterness that is one of the fun characteristics of espresso. Sometimes that's an interesting break. Sometimes that feels a little bland. It wouldn't be my go to bean, but as an occasional palate cleanser, it's dandy.
This was delicious, a bit darker than expected, but did pair nicely with in a latte.
brewed equally well as espresso - nice crema and deep balanced flavor. nut flavors did not overpower chocolate after taste.
flavors more subtle with aeropress, well balanced, low acidity.
This tasted like a lighter roast and not very full bodied.
This is the only coffee so far that I wasn't crazy about and wouldn't want to get again. It had a weird aftertaste that I didn't enjoy.
Can’t drink this. The bag is mislabeled and I don’t own a grinder. I was send whole bean in the guise of drip grind.
Too light for my taste
Nice, slightly lighter than previous coffee, good in the mix.
While not listed as a main note, this coffee has a hint of citrus, which I'm not a fan of.
I didn’t like this one
Love the coffee and the branding!
perfect coffee, great deep notes with spikes of 'gentle acidity'
The Bassline Espresso Blend I received does not match the description here on Misto Box's website. Here on the Misto site, it describes the tasting notes as "chocolate, nutty, full bodied". But on the actual package, it reads, "Milk and dark chocolate bass notes with a slight lemon finish that bounces out of your cup." I experienced the lemon note as being rather strong, maybe even overpowering; it didn't come across as full bodied but rather sour and/or acidic, perhaps overly so. ...With quite a lot of tweaking I was able to later pull espresso that was a lot less sour tasting and bright with lemon, but overall it was still a 'meh' from me.
Second year on this program and this is undrinkable to me. Chocolate and nuts? I don’t get that but if that is what the professionals call it, leave me out. Sorry to say but this is my least favorite.
Too light, don't like lemon
Very true to its description. Will definitely keep this on my short list
Primarily used to make flat whites and americanos with coconut/almond milk. Mild nut and chocolate flavors come out in a flat white with a lingering bitterness. Same for an americano, but did get some faint citrus notes. OK, but I prefer a more pronounced flavor profile.
This always felt weak even when I made it the same way that I do for all the others. Just didn’t love it as much, but the flavor was nice.
A bit sour for my liking no matter what temperature or grind size.
This has been my favorite so far. Can we please alternate between dark roast (but not too oily for our superautomatic) and medium roast? This will keep both my wife and me happy. thanks!
We loved this one. Rich, full bodied, nicely balanced with depth.
Pulling was again a breeze but the flavor profile was a tad bitter for my tastes (if I'm remembering correctly, lol).
A bit too dark.
The flavor of this is what i want more of. Real lovely coffee flavor no notes of anything g that im not in to.
This coffee for me lacks in flavor and strength.
Put in wrong review!!! This one is definitely NOT fruit forward. Nutty and smooth! This one makes excellent milk based drinks as well as straight up espresso using Ratio 2:1.
Brewed as espresso / cappucino
17g in, 35g out, 25s
Very nice low acidity, chocolate notes
Peanut butter! Lots of nutty notes with slight hints of chocolate. Honestly the body isn't as heavy as advertised but I'm alright with that. Maybe my favorite from Mistobox so far.
Brewed in the Ratio 8 coffee maker. 55g beans, medium grind (24/40 - Baratza Encore). 1.2L of water.
delicious and beautiful crema!
I really like the stronger chocolate flavor in this pick. I do not get any nuttiness and only a slight bit of fruitiness in this. This also feels a bit less sour than the first pick. I can do without the burnt smell during the initial pour and sip. If I let it set for a few minutes the burnt smell goes a way and the chocolate taste is much more pronounced.
This was a good pick.
Wow, love it! My fave so far. Definitely rich delicious flavor!
Tasted a little bit acidic to me but with milk beverages it was an amazing piece.
It is OK.
Great choice, loved the mild notes of chocolate and raspberries, not overpowering at all and easy to tweak the extraction to bring the flavor out more or less
Very smooth tasting coffee. Taste chocolate and fruit all in one sip
Perfect roast for my Breville espresso machine. Bean was roasted perfectly and the aroma straight out of the bag was amazing.
Earthy, chocolate, complex. We enjoyed it.
This espresso was different and that's not a bad thing but I will just say that it was very interesting. I can taste Bass bottom notes of kind of chocolate like flavors then at the very same time I start getting a tangy citrus type of note that is kind of strange altogether. This by no means was a bad coffee but it's not one of my favorites but still pretty good
I think if you like chocolate in your coffee this is great. I don't.
was a bit sweeter but good coffee.
Amazing!!!! My machine pulled this roast perfectly!! It is so SMOOTH! Delicious!
Great dark coffee fit for me
More earthy than any of the flavor descriptions given.
The burst of lemon at the end really enhances the complexity of the bean!
Another great roast, i've been following a 1:2 ratio with my coffees lately. found that:
14 grams dose
yielded the best profile,
clearly chocolatey and nutty!!
best enjoyed with some water on the side, the finish is superb!
Not the biggest fan of the lemon chocolate mix
From the chemex and black, this blend tested...okay. Not that exciting. Mostly molasses and maybe some chocolate? This was a bit better as an americano from the aeropress, but really not by a whole lot. I think I tend to like more of the citrus-y and fruity blends more.
This is probably one of the worst coffees ever! I do not taste chocolate or nuts.
We’ve enjoyed this espresso with no complaints.
Wow! Best yet. Crema thick sweet taste good
Didn’t seem as fresh, notes fall flat
Not bad for espresso, but not great for regular coffee. Somewhat one note-ish
liked this one
We liked the chocolate and nutty notes. The name is fitting, really is full bodied.
THIS was some of the BEST coffee I have tasted. Just... WOW.
"Full bodied" is a bit strong, but great flavor.
Not very complex. Was extracting 30g from a 20g dose in between 25-30 seconds and wasn’t really finding the flavor
Nothing too special. Did not taste chocolate and nuts.
Full bodied but surprisingly mellow. Enjoyed this one.
I favor coffees that are less acidic and reminds me of chocolate. This roast checked off these boxes and more. I use an Aeropress where I followed the recommend brewing method published here. This could be my desert island coffee
I made this both in a French press and as an espresso. Also made it in a latte. I really don't know how else to say it other than it just seemed kinda basic/boring. I didn't taste a whole lot of chocolate or nutty notes. Liked the Populace Espresso Proper much better.
Not bad. Getting the correct grind is key.
Excellent and fruity. A house favorite.
Perfect at a grind setting of 33 on our Oracle Touch. Not very bold when paired with milk
Perfect Description of tastes! -chocolate, nuts and a heavier body.
Just brewed a aero press and it is wonderful!
Not quite as good as the Organic One Black Expresso, but a close second at this point. Rich, chocolately.
Was not bold enough. Not a favorite.
Needed more chocolate to balance out brightness. 7 out of 10 on amount of body. Prepared as espresso on an expobar brewtus, with trials of 1:2 and 1:3 ratios.
We loved this one. Great for straight shots, lattes, and americanos. Fully bodied but not overwhelmingly dark.
We loved the body of this coffee.
Espresso was very bitter. This bag was better than Espresso Proper. If I could give it 3.5 stars I would. Once I added milk the flavor was much better but none of the flavor notes really come through. First bag (Fall Line Espresso) is still the best by far.
Also a good espresso roast. Only knock it that it wasn’t regional but still a strong choice.
Too bitter, very difficultto balance.
Tasty! Was excited to drink this every morning!
Really interesting roast. When you taste it starts out light but shifts to medium as it sits on your palette. I’m not a fan of light roasts because I find them too acidic. But since these beans are a medium roast you get the taste of a light roast without the acidity. Dialing it in I was able to get the notes of light chocolate and nuts but no matter how much I tinkered I couldn’t get rid of a powdery feeling at the tail end of the after taste which is why it’s getting a 4 for me,
This is outstanding! It is a great rich and full flavor. It’s my favorite coffee so far! I could drink this every day and be very happy to have such a daily coffee treat.
Nuttyness was too strong, coffee tasted like peanut butter
It is somewhat acid. I personally prefer darker blends
This one is keeping me on my toes. First shot was heavy on the nutty flavor with some bold chocolate notes, the following shot packed a citrus punch. I'm enjoying the gamut of clear distinct flavors. This is one that is more interesting as an espresso rather than in a cappuccino.
A little strong but good flavor.
It was good, not my favorite
Good, but I only need espresso every couple of months please.
Notes indicate full bodied but I found the shots to be thinner and weaker than I'd prefer. Coffee was both bitter and sour, no matter how I pulled the shot. Never was able to get a great shot.
Great Taste very smooth and creamy as I like it.
This was fantastic. It made excellent espresso. Good "neat" or in milk drinks.
Delicious! I was on vacation and had to use this with my Moka not my usual espresso machine, so didn't get to really evaluate it properly. But I did think it was tasty in iced coffees. I'd get it again!
Just starting it, so maybe too early to judge -- but WOW! Lighter roast, so went fine. First 4x pulls over 2 days came out great. Chocolate, today some cinnamon, super smooth with no bitterness. Really like it so far!
No creme, kinda flat
Better than the last one. A little bitter for my taste, though.
Pretty good for an every day cup of coffee. I liked the notes. It also makes a good iced coffee
I loved this coffee and would like to get more
Good, but slightly less so than the previous.
Love it, nice blend goes great with my choice of creamer (sweet cream Chobani half and half
Ghislain and Catherine
It says full bodied but this was very light and not enjoyable.
This is an amazing espresso. I love it for my lattes!
Did not like one
Did not enjoy this coffee as much as others
This was okay not great depth of flavor
Very good for both hot and iced lattes.
Definitely one of our favorites to date! Super smooth, not acidic at all, smelled wonderful.
like the chocolate flavors
Lots of flavor!
Chocolate, nutty, toasty. Really enjoyed this one. I had to grind a lot coarser than usual in our breville barista touch.
It was easy to pull a decent shot with this espresso blend. The flavor profile is as described, chocolatey and nutty with a bit of citrus, which is much more pronounced when consumed as an espresso shot.
Very light and citrusy, tasted really weird. Only making this coffee with pourover made it bearable
Extremely acidic no matter how I pull it. Very bitter.
One of us loved it, the other not so much. (We are pretty opposite in life, generally, anyway!) Much fruitier and nuttier than chocolatey; the "espresso" in the title didn't play out in the cup we brewed in our basic drip machine.
Ok roast...but not my most favorite. If there are more like the Honduras Las Capucas I'd be super interested. :)
I really enjoyed this blend, tasted notes of chocolate and nutty. smooth cup of coffee
Best espresso i've received in a few orders. juicy, lingerling flavor, savory almost. i think I'm loving heavier body espresso. Great choice!
A little too nutty.
A pretty good bean, nice flavor, lattes and cappuccinos were excellent
My first 5-star coffee from Mistobox. I use it with my secura automatic grinder, and Gaggia Old White Classic espresso machine for my latte every morning.
Fantastic taste, smooth and creamy. Tastes like it came from an artisan coffee shop. Hey Mistobox Coffee Gurus, more of this please!! :)
So good! Was awesome for espresso and pour over! I'd like this one again!
Didn't like not robust enough. Could hardly taste the coffee in my latte
Very good flavor. Can really taste the chocolate nutty flavor.
Smelled good, and had some nice notes, was a little flatter taste than I expected with the aroma.
Great flavor, loved the heavier body. Made absolutely perfect lattes every time.
Excellent for espresso...very balanced.
Not bad, just not a lot of noticeable flavor
It was a little bit too mild
Tastes stale and old. Was very light, almost certainly not an expresso blend. Dumped the beans after a few pulls as it was undrinkable.
Makes a great espresso as well as a pourover. No bitterness whatsoever. I used half the bag to make a small batch of (Japanese style) cold brew, which was amazing. This is a really good all-purpose blend.
Rachelle & Brian
Great coffee. Smooth and dark, turned out great in our espresso machine and iced!
I really liked this cup. The beans smelled fantastic when I opened the bag. I brewed with a french press, and I tasted very strong chocolatey notes on my first sip. Those notes were followed by a pleasant citrusy finish.
Not as dark of a roast as I had hoped for.
Tastes great. Nice and dark.
Nice, smooth. chocolate notes.
Good body, I'm not a milk-drink kind of guy, but it did pair well with milk.... pretty mellow and I didn't pull a bad shot.
I love this coffee!
This was a good strong every day blend. A little stronger than I like, but it tasted great
Slightly tart but with good body and and the fruit isn't overpowering at all. Really liked it.
Light body with floral flavors.
Great for everyday coffee.
it was okay - not too bad but needed something a little stronger.
While the description was pretty dead on, I'm not sure this is what I was looking for out of my espresso. I don't make a ton of milk based drinks, but this did compliment the latte and cortados I made well, with a somewhat dark hot cocoa flavor. By itself in a straight ristretto shot is was a bit bland and too nutty for me. A longer shot was easier, still too chocolatey and nutty for a straight shot for me. I noticed on the bag this roaster offers an exotic roast/blend, which might have been more up my alley.
Great and consistent espresso. Nice acidity with a nutty sweetness and strong chocolate notes.
Even though I'm not a big fan of milk/chocolate coffees, it didn't subtract from the taste of it. My wife (who happens to be lactose intolerant) really enjoyed this one.
