This is the Burundi Butegana Natural brought to you by Brandywine Coffee Roasters. This Red Bourbon coffee was grown in the Kayanza Province of Burundi and was naturally processed at the Washing Station in Butegana.
Loving this coffee. Brewing in chemex at the moment, with medium coarse grind, I'm finding it has a very nice earthy sweetness and full but not syrupy body, and light acidity.
Rich and sweet, notes of blueberries and grapes. Molasses, chewy, clean finish.
Took a bit to dial in for espresso. The finer the grind the more clumps but I think that is more a function of my grinder than the coffee. 1:2.5 ratio you will get all of the fruit and sweetness. 1:1 and 1:1.5 we taste a sweetness still but it is not fruit. It is more syrup or molasses even.
