This was much to dark for me.
Smooth flavor and full bodied. One of the best coffees so far.
Taste has come out lighter than expected, but prefer this one in a latte over straight. Adds great chocolatey notes and smells overall. Not my favorite of the few I've received so far, but certainly a good espresso overall.
About five years ago my friend highly recommended the Intelligentsia coffee. Unfortunately, the nearest Intelligentsia coffee shop is in Pasadena, CA. When I was there I tried their coffee and was very impressed. Now I have chance to brew that coffee myself. It is wonderful.
Surprisingly meh. It was almost a week old when it arrived and it never smelled or tasted really fresh. Decent espresso but a little tough to pull a good shot.
This is great. Not too sweet. Has some depth.

Had a hard time pulling shots that were not sour, tried extraction times from 28s-42s and most were bitter.
Not quite as rich as I prefer
First sniff: The smell when I opened the box was medicore and almost non-existent. This could be that I received it nearly 7 days after it was roasted since Intelligentsia didnt ship it out in a timely manner. The coffee has slight notes of cocoa and a nuttiness reminiscent of walnuts. I didnt get much caramel to be honest.
First cup: The aroma of the espresso did indeed have cocoa sweetness to it although it was muted compared to the initial sniff. The nutty notes were brought forward above the cocoa notes and they definitely had a walnut aroma, at least for me. I got a slight hint of the sweetness of caramel in the original tasting notes but they definitely weren't a forward taste. The nuttiness was what took the front seat for me. I ultimately made it a long black and added a small amount of half and half and some stevia and the fat from the half and half brought forth the walnut notes and enhanced the caramel notes although still not enough to consider it a caramel forward blend.
All in all not a great brew but enough flavor to enjoy but I am looking forward to my next bag which is specifically made to be brewed as an espresso. Sadly, I had hoped for more from Intelligentsia but will need to find some of their espresso blends to compare and contrast against.
It’s decent but it tastes slightly acidic which I do not like.
I've had several intelligentsia coffees. This one is certainly not a favorite of mine.
