Burundi Kalico Mama

This is the Burundi Kalico Mama brought to you by Cartel Coffee Lab. This Fully Washed coffee was grown 1,700 meters above sea level in the Kirundo and Muyinga Provinces of Burundi. Angele Ciza, the co-founder of Kalico coffee, one of Cartel's producer partners in Burundi, partnered with Atlas Coffee Importers in 2018 to launch "Kalico Mama", a women-produced coffee. Angele shares, "This coffee comes from female farmers (widows, single mothers, and other women). We operate this coffee separately to other coffees delivered to the washing station. The concept behind the new brand is to promote women in the coffee industry, starting from empowering women producers as well as disabled women."
