This is the Colombia Narino brought to you by Populace Coffee. Grown by small holder producers in the Nariño region between 1,800 - 2,200 meters, this fully washed coffee is a perfect example of why we love coffees from Colombia. This coffee has notes of caramel and molasses sweetness with a pleasant, balanced acidity of grapefruit and apples.
Not my favorite though overall it was a nice cup of coffee
It was good. Pretty bright flavor. Very fruity.
Excellent coffee. It’s very well roasted and has a great smooth milk chocolate flavor.
Great tastes and has a bright flavor. Nice change from a “traditional” coffee taste while keeping the acidity low
Overall a very good cup. I would reorder this.
An enjoyable balanced cup. Nice acidity (stone fruit tartness) at the front when hot and a little more prominent in the middle as it cools. Chocolate sweetness for majority of cup, silky mouth feel with no bitterness. Clean/light finish with a subtle tart aftertaste.
Dialed it in with my Chemex and got some nice chocolaty flavors!
A bit one-note and harder to extract full flavor from, but satisfying and nice nonetheless.
This was okay, simply because unfortunately the notes on the coffee itself do not align at all with what is described here. On the packaging itself, it is described as chocolate and lemon. I think this could have been an issue with the team here not having updated information from Populace. The description of caramel, grapefruit, apples, etc. sounds delicious but just is not what the current Narino tasting notes are.
Seems to be more chocolate, I don't want to say dirty, but just not as sharp as the Alma. More of a dark profile. Alma honey P was probably my favorite coffee so this one was at a handicap.
Grapefruit is not my favorite flavor profile in light roasts, prefer natural processed or honey processed .
I found it a bit bland. Tried varying grind, dose, temp, & method (v60/French press), but couldn’t coax a ton of flavor out. Grapefruit is the most prominent note. Couldn’t get much of a roast note at all.
Great flavor, balanced but still has a bite to it. Can't tell if its the fruity hint that I like? Really enjoyed this one.
Don’t love the flavor, but it’s ok. Actually tastes a little bland.
One of the most fantastic aromas for a coffee ive ever smelled.
Well balanced light roast
This coffee was great! It has a very complex flavor and tasted amazing in my Chemex!
Pleasant to drink but found a bit boring. Happy to have more fruitiness in my coffee
Full-body, citrus-acidic, clean
Couldn't tell any of the flavors, initial brew was bad, later ones mellowed out. Nothing special.
Sweet but not overly with nice citrus acidity.
repeated too many time. Got tired of this choice.
This one was not for us! The flavors were a bit too much like cigar aftertaste.
A little acidic for me. I tried increasing extraction but still a little sour
Favorite so far!
No flavor, super bland.
It's very nice, but I wouldn't say it's really a home run. Very happy to drink it every morning, but not a cup that wows me with its flavor or complexity. My 3 is conservative, and I think 4 would also be a fair rating here.
This coffee was a little too fruity for my taste.
My favorite one I’ve gotten from mistobox so far
Absolutely love Columbian coffes
Really nice, some weird flavors going on, but delicious
May not have accentuated the notes properly through brewing, but tasted a little dark for my liking.
Enjoyed the flavor notes of this coffee. Nice and light with sweet notes.
Smell was 12/10, loved the acidity, taste was unexpected to smell.
Really liked it!
A little light smooth cup, not too acidic, subtle notes of the cherries, and chocolate as a pour over. noticed an increase of notes of lemons the older the beans got. I would have hoped for a fuller flavor, thats my only con.
what I was looking for, had good notes. I was expecting the caramel to make it "darker" but it was still quite nice and light!
This coffee was excellent. I had actually been to a Populace shop before since my relatives live in Bay City, but was glad to be seeing this roaster once more in my home! This coffee was very light, with an almost tea-like mouth feel. The acidity was well balanced and not overbearing as with some light roasts. Would recommend to anyone who likes fruity notes in their cup.
The coffee was a bit oily and the grapefruit was difficult to detect , but the cup was smooth and overall very drinkable.
This is good but the acidity level is a bit much for me.
Didn’t like the grapefruit in it. Tasted sour
Slightly lighter than my usual, but a nice brew
Great cup of coffee! Perfectly roasted
Too bright for my tastes. Can't decide if sour or bitter or just too bright.
Very smooth, great taste.
Yum! Very smooth and tasty.
I like it a lot. Brewed with V60, Commandante MKIII, and Barista Hustle water. I'm still getting into the finer points of coffee tasting, but I found this coffee to produce a very smooth and balanced cup. I've dialed it in and the taste changes a lot during the cup. Not quite sure what the flavors were, but it went from being acidic to sweet as the cup cooled down. Overall very pleased with it.
Average taste and lacking interesting flavors. Likely will not get through this batch of beans.
Well-balanced, caramel/chocolate overtones were great.
It’s good! I enjoyed it but doesn’t have as many complex notes as I like sometimes?
Also enjoyed this one
After having my third cup, I can say there’s a sort of sweetness in this coffee. Something syrupy like molasses, but also a nice balance of acidity. It pairs really well with my toast and apricot jelly breakfast. Overall, would probably get again.
I was not a fan of this coffee; not because it was especially terrible, but because it just didn't not match my preferred profile. The roast level was pretty spot on, but I didn't love any other part of the tasting or aroma notes.
Pleasant indeed. Nice medium body with that dark sugar backbone and a touch of acidity. I didn't find a way into more demanding complexity, but this stood out as the kind of coffee you could enjoy every day.
