This is the Guatemala Villatoro Matías brought to you by Spyhouse Coffee Roasters. Grown by Villatoro Matías in the La Libertad, Huehuetenango region at 1,700 meters, this fully washed coffee is a perfect example of why we love coffees from Guatemala. This coffee has a rich and decadent sweetness with notes of chocolate covered almond, baking spices, pie crust and baked apples.
Outstanding, mouth filling with several layers of flavor including unsweet, yet not bitter, chocolate. If no other ideas come to bear, let's repeat this one!

Really good Guat! Tasting notes were pretty much spot on. Definitely got a nice balance of appley fruitiness, with cholocatey/nuttiness.
Alright, this coffee was fantastic. I brewed it two ways, Chemex and a traditional drip machine. Both methods were delicious, with the drip machine turning out the superior cup. The chocolate notes were more apparent from the drip maker which is where this coffee really shines. Some lighter roasts have a tinny flavor which I find tolerable, that was absent here. Just pure smoothness from start to finish.
A wonderfully balanced coffee. It was just lovely.
