The Inkwell Blend was carefully roasted for you by Quills Coffee. Inkwell is a project long in the making for Quills, one that required them to dip their quill deep into the well of creativity and coffee passion. This house blend has something for everyone, but it’s not just a simple crowd-pleaser. It represents everything Quills is proud to showcase in their coffees: care in production, intentional sourcing, and a roaster’s unique touch, all balanced in a complex, delicate dance. Currently comprised of coffees from Guatemala, Peru and Colombia, this cup is fantastically full bodied, with notes of caramel, cherry and vanilla.
Not as sweet as some of the other roasts, but good
Super sweet. Lots of sugar and citrus fruit with a light body.
Very tasty (using French Press)
Overall it was a good coffee and style that I like. It was a litter more bitter than I prefer, but still really enjoyed it.
LOVE this blend--the Inkwell Blend was better than the first shipment of coffee I received. The coffee was not acidic, sour, bitter, nor burnt. The color of the bean was as dark as what I typically enjoy and I didn't have to use as many beans to get a strong brew. Great pick for me!
Merle and Peter
Like it but prefer the onyx.
Delicious!! Brewed as pour-over and I definitely get the chocolate and there are some fruit notes in there but I can't pinpoint what exactly.
The Inkwell Blend was good. It was a good roast with a medium body.
I'm not as partial to dark roast. Had a great flavor though
Never got tired of this one. Smooth, pleasant, harmonious, not bitter; a great coffee for the morning
Little oily for my taste but not bad.
Very good blend, the citrus really came out in this blend. Overall good and full bodied.
Started more acidic, but adjusted grind and became smooth and rich.
Nice balanced blend with very slight citrus taste on the back end.
Love this coffee, quite the crowd pleaser! I think it only lasted 2 weeks :) I would definately order this one!
This blend is probably my favorite one so far. It doesn't immediately show its full flavor when first drinking it, but as the coffee cools you are able to begin to taste the citrus features in it. I prefer drinking this blend in the morning as it is not too acidic. I haven't been able to taste the chocolate notes in it. I normally add heavy whipping cream to my coffee, but this coffee is so smooth and not very acidic that I drink it black. STRONGLY recommend everyone out there!
Not very interesting or flavorful, and a little acidic
I love the flavor profile. Always robust and fruity with every cup.
Really Really liking this coffee....look forward to the having a cup in the mornings!
I really enjoyed this one and I can taste the citrus and chocolate. I think it's a nice everyday coffee.
Very nice. Definitely chocolatey and nutty.
Nice mild flavour, no nasty after taste :)
Great flavor and after taste
Too bitter (maybe because it was too roasted?). First brew after grinding was ok, but after that, the coffee kept coming out with a very dry bitter taste.
I really like this as an everyday coffee. It's smooth and mellow. None of the notes are dominant, which makes it something that's easy to enjoy in the morning. A really decadent way to wake up.
This wasn't a top pick for me, but my husband, who isn't really a coffee drinker loved it. It was a good roast for the two of us to share.
opening the bag I smelled chocolate. tasted like cherries and a not overwhelming citrus taste. it was a good balance.
Nice - full-bodied. A little more smokey and sharper than the Topeca Cleavton LIttle - which I LOVE, but a solid coffee non-the-less.
Probably deserves 4.5 stars - my favorite 'morning' coffee out of my sampling (which including Colombe's Louisiane Blend, Square One's Sasquatch Blend and Equator's French Roast FTO). The citrus notes are a nice touch to a well-rounded cup'o joe..
milk chocolate dominates the palate with a nice acidity to brighten up the cup. Lime and lemon skins on the finish with a medium slickness
This is more of a 3 1/2 leaning towards a 4. We found it complex and well rounded with a velvety mouth feel. We did detect a slight sweetness. Pleasantly smooth and a nice aroma. We did not consider full bodied in the sense of being bold.
Opening the bag, the beans had a scent that resembled dark chocolate. When brewed, the coffee appeared to be medium brown and smelled like chestnuts. I found the coffee to be a bit citrusy in flavor, but was too acidic for my taste. I would try other blends from this roaster, but would not purchase this one again.
Excellent. Flavorful with distinct chocolate taste.
really nice coffee. soft yet bold.
This coffee was ok. Not much in terms of flavour I'm looking for. Looking for something more bolder, Full modied.
