This coffee will be fresh roasted for you. We expect La Colombe will roast and ship this coffee in 1-2 business days depending on their roasting schedule.
This is the Haiti Mare Blanche brought to you by La Colombe. Farmers from the highest mountains of Southeastern Haiti overlooking the Caribbean grow coffee the way it has been done for two-hundred years - on small, family-owned farms alongside a diverse mix of shade trees, banana plants, and ground crops. This coffee was grown in the Mare Blanche region of Haiti at an altitude of 1,400 - 1,600 meters. This cup is fantastically complex, with notes of root beer, vanilla, and black pepper.
This medium roast make an awesome cup of coffee. Taste like summer time in your mouth. I brewed it in a syphon pot so it didn't have much in the way of body. But it was one hell of a tasty floral cup. With hints of coconut and vanilla with make an awesome ice coffee or cold brew.
I don't know if I could taste the beer note, but I liked the vanilla. This was a pretty smooth brew.
I really enjoyed this coffee, not as "roasty" as I typically like, but I loved the vanilla notes.
Good flavor and balance -- i prefer a little more acid
i really like this one. very mild and good for every day :)
This was a nice medium roast. It had some complexity- a nutty-chocolately taste- but was very smooth overall.
This coffee is really great! It is my first coffee through MistoBox, so I'm going to give this one a 4 for good measure. I really enjoyed the lighter body in this cup. I'm really not a big fan of coffees with a lot of texture. The flavor notes scared me at first, but man, the spice and subtle sweet are doing good things in that cup.
I brewed it on the chemex and it definitely had a good flavor, just not what I prefer. A little more earthy than I expected.
Great coffee first thing in the morning, very smooth.
This aftertaste was unpleasant.
Taste is sweet and balanced, light and not to heavy.
Like its smoothness. Would prefer something bolder, but it is good and not oily. Good coffee, nice taste.
Love the sweetness and earthy spice. Surprised at how much I enjoy it, as it's a lighter roast than I'd typically choose.
Middle of the road for me. Pleasant tasting but almost a little too light up front for my tastes. Not enough up front but great flavor, light middle pallet, and lingering finish of tobacco/chocolate. Brewed in a French press 56 g / 8cups.Nice favors but I need to go a bit heavier in the roast.
Too dark for my taste, but decent once I dialed in the brewing recipe.
Fine. Can sip this all day.
Has a little bitterness/dirt taste to it.
We tried it for the first time this morning through the Chemex and it was great. Great balance and I did catch the black pepper and vanilla extract flavors. I didn't really catch the root beer. I could drink this every morning.
AMAZING!!!! Great flavor profile!
Drinkable, but far too peppery for my taste.
Very good! The aroma of the beans is faintly similar to peanut butter to my untrained nose. Very smooth, very easy to sip.
The black pepper is by far the most prominent taste I get from this. The vanilla is perceivable and I don't notice any root beer taste at all. The smell of the beans is incredible and overall it makes for a refreshing cup of coffee. Not sure I would ever purchase again because of the strength of the black pepper.
This was a good start! Very warm and nice, hoping for some more pronounced flavors
I am no coffee tasting expert and this is the first time I am trying coffee that is less than two weeks since being roasted. This is good coffee but I am not a huge fan of the black pepper and root beer notes.
Update: This coffee has grown on me. I now look forward to my two cups every morning. I'm changing this to 5 stars.
Full, complex and spicy but not exactly my cup of tea (read:coffee).
We enjoyed this coffee quite a bit. It had a vey Latin America feel to it, which happens to be our favorite area for the origins of coffee. The smell, taste, and everything about it was very good. Thank you.
Very nice -- made very nice bialetti moka pot
It was okay, but on the darker side of the roasting spectrum for me.
While I certainly enjoyed the coffee overall, I felt that the abrasiveness of the black pepper notes sort of stole the show. Once the coffee cooled, it took on richer less punchy aspects, but I just couldn't seem to get past the pepper.
Light, earthy and a hint of fruitness. Brewed with Kone, Chemex
I'm still trying to develop my palette for coffee tasting but found that this was a very nice, rich coffee. It was less fruity than the coffee I typically drink which seems appropriate for a December kind of coffee.
Very much enjoy this coffee!
I have brewed a couple pots of this at a ratio of 48 grams coffee to 8 (6oz) cups of water. I liked it...but my palate is not sophisticated enough at this time to taste anything like root beer, vanilla, or black pepper....lol.
My favorite thing about this coffee is the aroma! Very unique tasting notes. Baking chocolate and root beer. Fun coffee!
I'm from Chicago, and really love La Columbe coffee. Had one in my old neighborhood. I really liked this one, but not as much as some of the others I've tried from them.
I didn't quite enjoy the black pepper but it was a decent coffee otherwise.
Definitely enjoying this one.
Nothing special, but nothing to complain about, either. Balanced, freshly roasted, smooth. I switched to the Exclusive tier to see what the quality is like for that price point. I realize you guys have bills to pay, and the mark up gets me a selection of coffees, but $19 is a lot to pay for 12oz of average-good coffee. I'd be willing to pay $3 more if the Exclusive selections are truly that. Looking forward to my next shipment. christian.
Really enjoyed just enough bitterness without being overpowering. A nice bit of nuttiness.
Easily my favorite coffee I've ever been able I make at home. The flavor was incredibly full and bold. I will definitely be buying more of this to bring traveling with me in the fall.
I was skeptical first as this is not an obvious fit with my preferences. However, this is a great coffee I am enjoying it very much.
Love this coffee, full of flavor and love smelling it brew first thing in the morning. strongly recommend
