Mary
The taste of the coffee came through even with a light vanilla creamer. Smooth, no bitterness and well balanced.

A bit dark for me. But good flavor. Very chocolate caramel.

Always a big fan of Costa Rican coffees, -and this was no exception. Full body, nice medium roast made for fantastic shots and lattes.

Nice flavor but a little too light bodied for me.

Emily
Not much flavor but OK.

Mild coffee, good brew. Lighter end, but would prefer a more robust coffee.

Too acidic for my taste

Stephen
a smooth medium roast . Great coffee to serve guest that can please a crown without being too weak or too strong.
9/19/2020

Sue
Smooth. Pleasant to drink, but very light body. Interesting flavor on finish - reminded me of Earl Grey tea? Turns out this is a "medium light" roast. May try for a medium roast next time for more body.

Young
Very good aroma with balanced taste. Roast is closer to medium-light roast.

Olivia
Was a great mild coffee and really did pack a nutty punch at the end of each sip. This was not a bad thing though as it just made the flavor more rich throughout and went really well with my Hazelnut creamer. (Yeah, I use creamer, sue me.) I really did love the flavor of it a lot but I am still looking for that 5 star coffee. A solid option for sure and a bag of coffee I'll be happy to finish!

Daniel
The zest/fruity flavor was more prominent than I like. Bit of a sour aftertaste.

This has a sour aftertaste

Danny
great brew

Edward
Very nutty, but well balanced by the caramel (which isn't itself terribly distinctive, but is sweet). Not terribly acidic. Nice cup.

Jeremy
Caffeine hits hard at the beginning and makes me crash quickly. Also this coffee gives me horrible acid reflux. Tastes ok I guess, but not worth the problems. This brand of coffee always does this to me though.

Matt
Great smelling and tasting coffee. Clean and smooth flavors really make this a standout choice.
5/19/2019

Ann
Good flavor. I like the smooth finish!

Scott
Really good coffee. It's about 25 days after the roast date and this coffee is still mighty tasty.

Jeffrey
huge fan

Loved it. It is smooth and balanced. I changed my tasting notes because I’m not as familiar with the different choices and want to learn more so can you send me something different so I can compare and learn.

I cannot tell you how much I love this coffee. It’s a very comforting flavor. I love the caramel flavor. The coffee aroma reminds me of peanut brittle or the old candy called “bit o honey”. The roast level is great. I almost cried when I first sipped it, it is incredibly beautiful & has a true nostalgic/comfort feel for me. Until I had this, I would have said I prefer African/Ethiopian coffee, but this is my new favorite!!!

Angela
It had a wonderful smell when I first opened it. The brewed cup still has a slight sour taste to it, but not too bad. Again it could be that I am not brewing correctly.
9/11/2018

Kathy
I liked this coffee better than the first two. There was no sour, off or bitter taste. It had a rich feel to it that I enjoyed.
6/8/2018

James
Too light

Not sure what to think of this one; seems like the beans maybe were a bit stale and old as the grind turned it into more of a powder and were much more flaky than the prior bag. It also doesn't do well with my Chemex for whatever reason (seems to take longer even at a medium/coarse grind). The notes are definitely honey and some slight coffee. This isn't a good fit for me but I think it has a lot to do with the roast quality. Not sure this was a good bag.

Sarah
Not much flavor

Fred
My favorite

I tend to like Costa Rican coffees and this is no exception-- but it is EXCEPTIONALLY good. I've tried this as both a pour over and a drip brew, and both methods yield a bright, flavorful cup. I tend to enjoy this with a splash of cream (although it's not bad black) and maybe a tad of sweetner-- although I've found that it doesn't need that (it just depends on my mood). Overall, I would definitely buy and brew these beans again.

Lucy
I like this coffee the best of the three I have received.
do you have any single source coffee from Ecuador? Would like to try that in a medium roast.
2/8/2018

Jon
The first day I received it, it smelled like tons of caramel and slightly nutty. That faded a bit. Still brews up great. Good choice.
1/28/2018

Dean
Not enough flavor.
1/25/2018

Betty and George
It was slightly mild for our taste. It had good flavor and very smooth which is great!

Our first coffee shipment is listed as chocolate in our Collection, but it was vanilla.

I like it. I like it about the same as the others but I like this roast level better. The last ones I had a hard time dialing in the ratio at first. What ratio do you typically recommend? I usually do 1.73 grams of coffee for every ounce of water. The Costa Rican was smooth with little to no bitterness. I don’t mind a little bitterness and fruit notes. I am really trying to dial in my palate...i have spent most of my time dialing in the brewing process and now want to really find what beans I like the best. I tend to prefer Guatemalans and Ethiopians, medium roast, single origin, low acidity, fully body, bitterness is ok, and a bit of fruitiness. I typically do drip or pour over. Thanks!

Mike
I've made this coffee a few different ways, but I haven't said, "Mmm…" what about trying a Brazilian coffee or something from PNG or Peru? Even a coffee with some fruit notes would be nice.
1/18/2018

Kate
Love!
1/17/2018

Chirs
It hit all the notes in the bouquet. The roast is light and needed to brew for twice as long in order to get the strength I like.
1/14/2018

Robin
We loved this one best so far!
It is full bodied but smooth. There was no bitterness.
