This is the Epiphany House Blend brought to you by Case Coffee Roasters. This is a seasonally changing blend made up of fresh crop coffees that are usually sourced directly at origin. We specifically select components that create a rich, chocolatey cup with a creamy mouthfeel. It is tailored to be a versatile coffee that is delicious as espresso, with milk or black.

Way too light for us. We prefer a DARK roast. This is not that. Just way too light! It had an aftertaste similar to red wine. Not what I want to taste first thing in the morning!

Definite improvement. Balanced, low acid, toffee aroma and flavor came through and perhaps some milk chocolate. Used standard French Press technique, black and with cream and sugar. I can see the latter being an easy go to daily cup. Also started to experiment with the Kalita pour over using the special Rao pour over basket and Kalita profile on my Decent DE1XL. Still trying to dial it in for espresso but have been busy. For February would continue with something different but along the same lines. Perhaps with a little more body and chocolate (of course I could just take a bite of chocolate first, lol)

Way too dark. I typically think of myself as a medium roast person, but, based on the profiles of coffee I am familiar with here, I might be a medium light or just light roast person. The last three coffees I’ve gotten are WAY too dark for me.

This is a great coffee. Rich nutty/graham taste with a long, rewarding finish. Definitely one I would get again.

Tasted mostly as espresso, needs a shorter shot (under 2:1) or it's an acid bomb. Excellent at the right ratio. Decent as drip.

As described. Ode grinder on 4 with Fellow pour over set and Stagg EKG. 40 g of this stuff to 600 g filtered water.
I wouldn’t say this one blows me away but it’s a nice cup and I think the tasting notes are about right. Leans a little more to the medium roast profile.

I brewed this with a espresso and for a cappuccinos that isn't the most consistent but I felt like this was a solid coffee if you just wanted something easy to drink. when i got right, was super good

This was a nicely balanced coffee that reminds me of my usual blend from Chicago. I liked it better than the Guatemalan single origin that I had last month that tasted a bit muddy to me. This one has just the right amount of richness and depth.

I enjoyed the smoothiness and creaminess of this roast. It had a pleasant finish but I wish it was more full-bodied.

This coffee was closer to what I was hoping to discover. It was more full-bodied and balanced and less acidic. I enjoyed earthy notes. I would love to keep going in this direction and focus on finding more balanced roasts.

Not my cup profile. A very 'standard' (roasty) tasting coffee, darker than labeled here. Previous coffees were much more obviously chocolate. I'd be hesitantly open to trying a bag from Case with listed region(s) and processing on it, but this bag put me off, especially at the price point. Brewed with Ode + v60. (And at the time of this review, how is this labeled both single-origin and blend?)

I don't often give many things 5 stars but this is such an amazing blend I couldn't help it. It has both the classic coffee notes, thinking about something like Pete's coffee or most medium to dark roasts where coffee just takes like coffee and that's good, and at the same time also honors and flexes the complexity of some amazing single origins, meaning the flavor changes dramatically over the time frame in which the coffee cools. I don't know that I've ever had a blend that honors both the coffee just tasting like coffee and complex single origin notes at the same time.

Nailing them notes! This one required a finer grind to bring out the chocolate notes, but it has tasted delicious from day 1. Would recommend!

I brewed this with a Chemex and a burr grinder that isn't the most consistent but I felt like this was a solid coffee if you just wanted something easy to drink and maybe add a little half in half, if you wanted. It wasn't trying to be anything crazy but I think that was the point.

Kind of a forgettable coffee. The roast itself is decent, and the finished coffee is basically what I think of when I think 'generic good cup of coffee', but I was hoping for a bit more of the 'punchy' flavors like I typically get with other craft roasts. Brewed with v60 and ground with Encore.

Writing this review too late (so I might be forgetting things), but I wasn't a huge fan of this coffee. My main issue was the bitter/burnt taste. Some of the chocolate flavors came through, but wasn't "balanced" enough in my opinion, even with cream. I brewed this using my drip maker + a burr grinder set to medium-fine.

The caramel notes really pop once the coffee has cooled slightly. The smooth balance of the flavors stands out compared with some of the highly acidic local roasters who are going for more of an Australian style. This is a solid coffee, but we haven't enjoyed it as much as some of the others.

Let me preface, this is definitely a good coffee, but it doesn't really align with my tastes. It tastes darker than I typically enjoy. I'm not sure if that's because of the notes, or the roast level. I get a hint of a charred taste every now and then too, which I can't really pinpoint what it's from. Mostly, though, I taste dark chocolate, which I thought I would enjoy in a coffee, but not so much with this one. I typically really enjoy light and medium-light roasts. This coffee tastes like it could actually be around a medium or medium-dark roast level though. I also tend to enjoy single-origin more as well; blends are hit or miss for me, but I've definitely had blends that I've absolutely loved! I don't want to discount Case altogether, because I've heard some great things about them as a roaster. If I'm to try Case again, I would like to try a light-roast single-origin coffee from them.

This brew has a rich, smooth, soothing feel to it. The chocolate tones and aromas add a decadent feel to a full bodied cup of quality coffee. This is a good evening coffee, or a brew for contemplative, creative work. While I might not choose this coffee to kick off a day of running around and high-paced meetings, I would definitely brew a pot for a day of writing or to curl up by the fire on a cold winter morning.

Just rich and dark, not really much flavor here, slightly bitter, no creamy mouthfeel. The beans smell bad, there's no hint of chocolate or caramel to be found, instead smelling (and sort of tasting) like cheap maxwell house. I was worried I was over extracting the grounds so I made another cup to be sure. 200 degrees F, one minute steep. My wife agrees, it tastes poor. Conclusion, it's just the coffee, just dark unflavored slightly burnt tasting with a very mild and bitter dark chocolate aftertaste. Not the worst coffee I've had, but it's far from the best. This is the second batch in a row that we've thought tasted "meh" I thought it's just us, but we bought some beans at a local market. Medium roast and flavors of Chocolate, Vanilla and Hazelnut, we could pick out the flavors and the whole house smelled delicious, friends commented while entering how good it smelled, and the coffee was just as good tasting. This isn't even close to anything like that. Overall, I give this a 2.25/5.

I like the Epiphany House Blend significantly better than the first coffee. This one tastes richer and drinks more balances (no weird (sour?) aftertaste like the last one). I like the description of Graham Cracker, but it also reminds me the flavor of sweet orange flavored chocolate.

I actually disliked this coffee very much....had half a cup and tossed it all. I'm not sure if it is a flavored coffee, but the choc/nutty flavors ruined the coffee for me. I hope I do not get any more flavored type coffees.

Deep, complex flavors of chocolate, blueberry and a slight nutty finish make this house blend a delicious coffee. Starting off bold and punchy, the cup mellows out to reveal its secrets about halfway through, as the natural oils perfuse throughout the palette. Brought to the forefront at this point are very complex, but pleasant flavors that were not obvious at first sip. I found exploring the characteristics of this cup to be the most fascinating as it changed tone and character throughout the entire experience. If I have any complaints, it's that my batch may be just a tad over-roasted, as there was a great deal of bitterness at first taste. Letting the beans rest for a few days in the grinder while I went on a weekend vacation seemed to remedy this problem. While I didn't have time to try this, a coarser grind might also be recommended for the first week of consumption. I would also strongly recommend brewing with a method that preserves the natural oils as much as possible (I used a drip machine with a permanent gold filter, a French press or other method might be more effective), as this seems essential towards allowing the cup to balance itself out and reveal its inner self.

This is an overall great grind. I went with a coarser grind and don't regret it. You can smell the fig from the bag and after you grind the beans, and the overall flavor from the brew cup is fabulous. It's sweet with almost a tangy after taste you probably get from the fig. Very good!
EDIT: I don't know if it's just my palate, but I didn't really enjoy this bag as much as I used to. I've tried a couple different grinds, but it's almost too bitter now.

This is a really nice coffee. Very smooth and clean with very little aftertaste. I usually add a little half and half, but drink this one black. I would definitely seek this one out to order again.

While I love the flavors of this coffee, it's very easy to make it go bitter. As it gets colder, the bitter becomes much more pronounced. That said, when it's first brewed it tastes fantastic.

This coffee was great for when I wanted something to cold brew. The coffee came out very rich. When brewed in a pour over, it was good, but the flavor was very uniform. No subtle notes or any flavors that would get lost when topped up with a splash of cream.

I would not get this one again, and I definitely won't finish the bag. Brewed our first pot of it this AM and while it has a terrific aroma, it has a bad after-taste. Something at the finish of the taste just gets beyond bitter towards sour. Not a good one.
