Jullyan
Good flavor a little lighter for a coffee like a tea almost
1/22/2022

Brian
Too toasty and yet without much flavor
1/5/2022

Nicholas
Not an awful coffee, but far too dark for my tastes. Maybe the batch I got was over roasted, but the bag claimed to be a light roast with lots of citrus and fruity notes; however, the coffee is just too bold overall. There is a mild burnt taste that hides any of the flavor notes.
8/26/2021

Turner
Much darker than I was expecting. The bag even says light roast, but this is really just a dark roast on the specialty coffee scale. Disappointing for a washed Ethiopia.
8/15/2021

Kurt
Was not really a fan of this one.
8/10/2021

Laura
Smooth to drink. Vague vanilla notes. This one was perfect in the bitterness/acidity balance. The only detractor is that it is underflavored - almost no tasting notes shine through.
7/25/2021

Neil
Wasn’t a fan!
4/23/2021

Joseph
good balance of tastes!
4/15/2021

Jesus
Amazing coffee! Excellent choice for fans of the pour over method.
2/16/2021

Umang
One of the best I have had. Very smooth
2/2/2021

David
I REALLY DO NOT LIKE Ethiopian Yirgacheffe.
11/17/2020

Adit
bitter
10/30/2020

Ali
Surprised I liked it
10/24/2020

Alice
Too light and fruity.
5/3/2020

Cindy
Loved it
12/23/2019

Lauren
Not much flavor or taste, had to add extra scoops to make it better
12/18/2019

Michael
A little too bitter/dark for my liking.
11/5/2019

Andrei
This is a bit darker than I would have liked. It says fruity and citrus and maybe it's just this batch but it's pretty dark.
11/4/2019

Sara
Beans were very dark. Tasted burnt and stale
11/3/2019

Yousuf
Too earthy. Please do not send Ethiopian coffee.
11/3/2019

Eric
Smokey and sharp, not like the Ethiopians I'm used to
9/26/2019

Noah
Great
9/22/2019

Tyler
Y'all, this coffee is so bad. Everything you have sent to us thus far has been amazing, and we have loved our Mistobox subscription so much! but this coffee is so bad, and it makes no sense. Why pay for well-sourced Ethiopian Yirg green when you're going to take it past second crack? And I mean PAST second crack. There are hints of darker tones like the black tea they mention, but the primary note is carbonization. "Bright with fruity and citrus notes" is... not at all accurate.
9/15/2019

Bradford
I found this coffee to be oily and over-roasted. It is too dark to have any of the citrus flavors that I enjoy in Ethiopian coffees. I wonder whether this was simply a mistake on the roasters' part -- still, not an ideal round of coffee.
9/9/2019

Emily
LOVED this coffee. Please send more like this one! Or send this one again:)
8/28/2019

Audra
A little too dark for us.
8/26/2019

Alexis
I really hated this coffee. It tastes burnt. I have brewed it on all my methods and am just very unsatisfied.
8/14/2019

Barclay
enjoyed it. would order again. Zero complaints
7/31/2019

SAM
This is not a light roast coffee. It is medium to medium dark and that ruins all the flavors, in my opinion.
7/31/2019

Devin
I thought it was decnet, but for an Ethiopian Yirgacheffe I feel like I've had more fruity and flavorful beans before.
7/26/2019

Russ
Harsh taste, no pop
7/16/2019

Jared
There was a weird flavor, and I tried to make it several different ways, but it always had that flavor, so I was not a fan.
6/23/2019

Jeremy
This coffee was VERY over roasted. The oil in the bean was pretty overwhelming. Possibly just a bad batch? Our thoughts since the description was nothing like the actual bean, roast or flavor. Honestly, we poured it out and didn’t make another cup. Big bummer and a wasted bag.
6/21/2019

Michael
I can't find any of the bright or fruity notes at all.
6/15/2019

Daniel
Didn’t care for this. Too dark
6/1/2019

Jonathan
Yummy yirgacheffe that was a bit more "citrusy" than I'm used to, but nevertheless was still good.
5/1/2019

Sean
A little too light for our likings. As espresso is nice, refreshing almost. Where as with milk doesnt have the strength to cut through.
4/30/2019

Michael
Just not a big fan of Parisi
4/28/2019

Brandon
This was so great! really really enjoyed it
4/18/2019

Trung
pretty decent
3/24/2019

Xanthe
Too bitter for us
2/9/2019

Robert
I do not like this one. The roast is way too dark, leaving a bad aftertaste. I'd like to receive lighter roasts going forward.
2/8/2019

Collin
While this coffee was smooth and roasty, I've come to enjoy the light fruity notes of some of the other coffees I've had before.
2/3/2019

Daniel
This is the second Parisi Coffee I have had and both have been absolutely terrible. This coffee is burnt and is not worthy of the box it was shipped in.
2/2/2019

Dante
Beans were burnt, tasted like a horrible dark roast even though it is definitely a light roast. Will be informing mistobox of this.
12/3/2018

Ian
Overroasted, especially for a Yirgacheffe this doesn't allow for the flavor profiles to come out. Tastes more like a peets coffee.
11/20/2018

Thomas
Very good. Fruity and bright. No sourness.
11/17/2018

Andrew
Loved how bright it was.
10/21/2018

Ryan
This coffee had no roast date. The bag has an expiry date of October 2019. This coffee has no indication at all that it's fresh, in any way. I cut open the bag and is was very dark and over roasted, despite being advertised as a light roast. The aroma from the bag was acrid. All the indicators of a coffee that sat on the shelf for a long time. I'm really disappointed in Mistobox.
9/24/2018

Nathan
Just an all around good coffee
9/9/2018

Tashunda
Delicious! Smooth and sweet. Perfect on its own. No need to add milk/creamer or sugar.
8/13/2018

Trey
Probably my least favorite Yirgacheffe that I’ve ever had. It could’ve been the grind I was using, but I wish it was a little smoother. It tasted a bit... on the over-roasted and bitter side of the scale, which I definitely wasn’t expecting out of a Yirgacheffe.
7/11/2018

Adam
For a Yirgacheffe I was left wanting more brightness to this cup
7/4/2018

Ken
Great roast. Carmel, earthy notes.
7/3/2018

annette
In my opinion it is not a smooth cup of coffee it has a bite to finish
7/2/2018

Daniel
Yeah this is basically hotel coffee, I'm really disappointed with this one. Definitely over roasted and very bland. I don't even wanna finish the bag, but I don't wanna waste it... hmmm...
6/29/2018

Evan
Disagree with that "fruity, citrus, bright!" Yikes. Felt almost over-roasted, actually!
6/23/2018

Tristan
There wasn't a lot going on here; it was an inoffensive coffee at best.
Brewed with french press, pour over, espresso. Espresso was the best for me, but the results were still "acceptable coffee" and not anything special.

Beans also exhibited some cratering.
6/8/2018

Evan
This has been my biggest MistoBox letdown so far. Roasted pretty dark for my liking and flavors were just super flat. Don’t like this one.
5/22/2018

Wesley
Pretty good. Got some good cherry flavors from a few cups so far, though I think I need to tweak my brewing a little to get the best out of it. So far I've made hot coffee with an Aeropress and also some cold brew.
5/10/2018

Albert
Slightly darker than I prefer.
5/8/2018

Claire & Matt
It was over Roasted to my preference.
5/3/2018

David
A very pleasant lighter coffee, we do taste the citrusy notes. Delightful.
4/29/2018

Erik
This one seems to be roasted darker than listed. Therefor it is lacking in its citrus notes. Overall it has a balanced body. But is darker than what I prefer.
3/31/2018

Zachary
Favorite so far
3/13/2018

Cynthia
Not much flavor.
3/4/2018

Zachary
This was very much in line with what I was looking for. It seems the coffee lost some of its punch relatively quickly after opening. I'd say after a week the flavors were much harder to hit. First few days were excellent, however. Hoping for something a little fruitier next.
2/21/2018

Austin
It felt a little roasty with more lemon flavors coming through than anything.
2/21/2018

PC
This one did not play out as sweet or fruity as it was advertised to be. It had much more bland and bitter profile. Not my favorite.
2/19/2018

Justin
meh. flat and not much flavor
2/16/2018

Chilly
Honestly, I think I was spoiled by the amazing Ethiopian by Noble Roasters, so this bag simply lacked the flavor profile, fragrance and enjoyment I expect from Yirgacheffe. Mild coffee - better for a morning starter than an after dinner dessert!
1/31/2018

Ian
Dull flavors. Great fragrances but the taste always disappointed. I feel like this might be more me than the coffee, like I was never able to draw out all the flavor.
1/31/2018

Melisa
Not very fruity for an Ethiopian.
1/23/2018

Tyler
Great aroma. Quite a bit of bitterness from a finer grind.
1/21/2018

Alex
Tastes only of black tea. Too tea-like and mellow for my tastes. I wouldn't call it bright. Not terrible, but somewhat bland and missing more of the fruit and acidity that I'm used to in Ethiopian coffee.
1/6/2018

James
Favorite roast so far. Enjoy it iced as well.
1/4/2018

Mark
AWESOME. Brewed great in a v60 with slightly higher dose. Try 14-15:1 with this one.
12/25/2017

Alec
Well balanced. Perfectly fruity, but not crazy acidic and bright.
12/18/2017

Barry
I know...I picked this based on drinking it awhile back. I’ve only had one cup, so I am holding off my final rating. So far the first week was the best. This doesn’t taste as bright as I remember. I do like the balance and the citrus, but can’t recognize any fruity ness.
12/14/2017

J.R.
Really enjoyed this one. Found it strange that they didn't actually put the roast date on the bag though.
12/14/2017

Kristina
I did not enjoy the black tea flavors in this coffee. It tasted too much of black tea.
12/11/2017

James
Gorgeous. One of the best of the bunch with a nose like an Old World red wine plus a hint of caramel.
11/12/2017

Matthew
Ohhhhh yes. What a fantastic cup. The notes of stone fruit and mango are so good, and I definitely taste the undercurrent of black tea. Great combination of flavors. I can actually taste all the flavor notes listed on the bag as opposed to just one or two of them. Can't stop raving about this one!
11/2/2017

George
I wasn't able to pick up all the flavor notes I hoped for.... good though.
10/27/2017

Andrew
Nice lime and tea notes
10/16/2017

Rosemary
Excellent cup. Smooth, acidic and flavorful
10/15/2017

Stephen
This coffee is pretty good, but it's nothing extraordinary. It's got a very basic taste with not very many distinctive notes.
10/13/2017

Ethan
Delicious. This made a really nice balanced cup.
10/11/2017

Dawn
The Ethiopian Yirgacheffe Pride was very delicious. Citrusy, light and very full bodied. I enjoy it very much.
10/2/2017

hector
I've never tasted an Ethiopian like this. No prominent citrus flavor finish. Black tea almost licorice and a hint of vanilla. Brewed with V60 but seemed a bit of a heavier mouthfeel. Gonna try a Chemex iced and see what I get...
9/16/2017

Daniel
Really like this one
9/13/2017

Monica
My first true letdown from Mistobox. Admittedly, I wasn't able to open this fast enough and it's past its prime. However, they felt confident enough to put a Sept 2018 expiration date on it, a full year out, which I'll take as an invitation to judge it anytime before then. Instead of the "stone fruit, lemon and mango... black tea and vanilla" listed on the package, I tasted notes of absolutely nothing and will (reluctantly) try to make cold brew with it to salvage my investment.
9/12/2017

Justin
Loved this coffee! Great bright flavors, perfectly roasted, great quality!
9/11/2017

Patrick
Old coffee. Signing up for another 6 week subscription was a bad mistake.
9/10/2017

Murphy
Delicous!
9/6/2017

Jason
Wasn't very citrusy or fruity, mellow flavor.
9/3/2017

Chase
Very smooth
9/2/2017

Derek
Right up my alley as far as the roast is concerned. Maybe slightly fruitier for a 5 star rating.
8/25/2017

Andrea
Amazing! Loved the brightness and citrus❤️
8/23/2017

Jared
This was a really good Ethiopian. Like the tasting notes say, fruity, citrus, and very bright. Great over ice!
8/21/2017

Ben
Excellent!
8/20/2017

Gabe
Ethiopian Yirgacheffe is generally one of my absolute favorites but this is a terrible batch. I was able to get a marginally drinkable cup after a few tries but it's mostly dull with a slight burnt quality. Really hard to dredge up any of the qualities you'd expect in a Yirgacheffe.
8/13/2017

James
Never had a coffee from this roaster that I liked. This one was no different. Over roasted leading to loss of acidity that I normally enjoy in Ethiopian coffee. Harsh, one note flavor. Please do not send anything else from this roaster to me. Thank you.
8/9/2017

Thomas
Great flavor, balance, texture. Awesome coffee
8/7/2017

Logan
Pretty good bag of coffee. My complaints are I can taste a bit too much lemon and tea.
8/4/2017

Julian
This was a home run and easily the best coffee that we've received since joining Mistobox! Ethiopia is definitely our favorite region for coffee!
7/30/2017

Troy
Decent light cup of coffee. Citrus and nutty.
7/20/2017

Connor
yum
7/16/2017

Scott
Too much tea flavor. Not getting any citrus/bright flavors.
7/12/2017

Andrea
Not loving this one but can't put my finger on why.
6/27/2017

Paul
Wasn't as flavorful as their other one I had. Remember it tasting slightly over roasted.
6/11/2017

Jim & Jenna
This one isn't as tasty to us as the last few have been...had to adjust to a coarser grind for the pourover to taste right, but it's still a little bland.
6/8/2017

Sharon
Good but experimenting with amount of coffee brewed. At two tablespoons per cup it seems a bit bitter which surprises me as this is my "go to" coffee when buying beans.
6/5/2017

Jason
I prefer a natural processed Ethiopian for more fruitiness, but this was still good. I'm not used to lemon notes with Ethiopians, it reminded me of a Kenyan, a bit too high in acidity for my tastes.
5/23/2017

Martha
We like this one verymuch
5/14/2017

Kim
Didn't love this one. Too light and bitter.
5/7/2017

Greg
When I saw this was on the way to me, the description sounded great, but I was a little apprehensive since it was a light roast, and for my preferences I selected medium. The first few cups I made were okay, but I didn't get quite the robust flavors I was hoping for. I adjusted the grind size a touch finer for my V60 pour over, and the flavors really started to pop.

I got a lot of caramel, vanilla, and sweet cream on the nose, with some complex sweet/borderline savory notes I can't put my finger on. The taste was very rewarding, following the nose and the citrus was primarily tangerine in my opinion. It was a bright brew, but not overly so, with no acidity at all. I'd like to say that I tasted more of the peach/tangerine as it cooled. Definitely a good brew that I enjoy, the second from Parisi and both were mighty tasty.
4/24/2017

Seth
I really enjoyed this roast, the flavors were very pleasant and great.
4/24/2017

Stefan
This stuff is really good. Almost like an english breakfast tea with cream. Had fun trying different methods with this one, but ultimately I think I prefer more berry sweetness.
3/24/2017

Jason
Nice example of the varietal.
3/11/2017

Alexander
When brewed using the aeropress, I am able to pull out flavors of black tea and just a very slight sweetness (maybe vanilla or honey?). Overall it gives a delicious cup that is a delight to sip on in the mornings.

I am having a hard time pulling out other flavors than black tea when brewed on the Chemex. Not sure if it's specific to just my bag but I seem to be struggling with grinding it coarse enough to not get fines. No matter how coarse I go, I find the fines clog up the Chemex, slowing the drip and leading to over-extraction and bitterness. I am debating on taking it from a 16:1 to a 24:1 ratio and seeing how that works.
3/7/2017

Crystal
Love! Great flavor and smoothness!
3/6/2017

Justin
Not flavorful
3/3/2017

Benjamin
I like the acidity and the lighter notes of this coffee. However, it does taste slightly burnt.
2/24/2017

Alex
I really didn't like this one. It could be that it was a light roast and my preference is for medium to dark.
2/16/2017

Scott
This is a very smooth cup, terrific for people who are turned off by heavy, clobber-your-mouth coffees. It's straightforward, almost like a black tea. Tasty and agreeable.

For me, the only problem is, there's not much depth or interest. It's an "mm good" cup, not an "mm wow" cup. I have a hard time pulling out the fruity, citrusy, or vanilla notes -- perhaps that's just me, or my grind/brew method.

Definitely good, comforting, but I'd like a little more to it.
2/1/2017

Andrei
Very fragrant and remains more or less the same every time you brew it. Doesn't have tons of complexity but it's nonetheless satisfying. V60 @ 200 to 205 degrees seemed to work best. Maybe finer than usual grind with add to the thin body of the coffee.
1/19/2017

Megan
Way too light; tasted bland bordering on unpalatable.
1/18/2017

Alisha
I really hate to say that this is not my favorite coffee. I was excited because I do enjoy black tea but when I tasted the coffee I was not fond of the overwhelming lemon taste. There is a hint of the coffee that does taste really nice but I like a stronger coffee taste than what this offers.
1/16/2017

Angel
Definitely the best coffee I have ever drank in my life time.
12/25/2016

George
Very smooth, aromatic, rich flavor
12/24/2016

Cody
VERY light, has a Tea like taste to the coffee. Good, but not the best!
12/15/2016

Ryan
Had this in my French Press and it blew me away! Awesome stuff!
12/12/2016

Matt
I had difficulty getting a consistent flavor with this despite playing with different filters and grind. This isn't to say it's a bad roast, it just didn't live up to expectations.
12/11/2016

Travis
Great flavor. Feel like we are finding a groove with the roasts that you have been sending.
12/5/2016

Capitola
Loves it. So nice and bright!
11/24/2016

Ross
A little heavy? I brew with an aeropress and this was never excellent
11/24/2016

John
Another home run
11/23/2016

Justin
This one has a strong flavor and has an interesting combination of notes. I find it to be not quite as good as the Ethiopia Sidama Ardi from Equator, which was really outstanding. This one is still very good though, and I definitely like the mixture of tea flavors with fruit.
11/7/2016

Daniel
A little lighter roast than I usually prefer, but it worked here. I think this would be a more of a summertime coffee for me.
11/7/2016

Christopher
Outstanding! Perfectly balanced, bright but rich and delicious.
