Description
This is the Fast Track Blend brought to you by Good Folks Coffee. This espresso blend is a combination of coffees from Colombia, Peru, and Tanzania. Dark brown sugar, caramel, roasted nuts and semi-sweet chocolate best describe what we taste, and we think it tastes great on its own or even with a little bit of milk. Fast Track was created to taste great on espresso, filter brewing methods, cold brew, and iced.

Not a fan. Bean smell is sour and weak, crema thin, and pulled shot tasted sour. With milk, sour notes disappeared, but it was also ahrd to taste the coffee.

I would give this more of a 3.5 than 4. It was a 4 when brewed using French Press, but a 3 when pulled using espresso machine. I would not consider this a medium roast, due to the espresso shot being alittle too bold for my taste. The shot lacked any nutty notes in my taste. I would like a roast the shows more flavors when brewed as an espresso shot.

Very delicious! Well-balanced chocolate and syrupy flavors pulled with a gorgeous crema. Very good as espresso by itself; a little bit diluted when prepared as a milk-based drink with notes pleasantly mingling around. Intoxicating aroma from the freshly roasted beans. Wonderful choice!

This might grow on me, but straight out of my clever dripper I found it way too sour. But as it cools it becomes a bit rounder. Ultimately I'd love to find something that's bold but sweet with notes of chocolate and roasted nuts that doesn't even need sugar or milk. The question is does that even exist.

The beans come off as nutty. When brewed the espresso you can definitely taste the rich chocolatey flavor. We brew a double shot with oat milk for a cappuccino and it was very good, but for maybe being a touch too mapley and sweet. Otherwise, great for espresso drinks and on its own.

Lacked any real espresso base. When looking at the coffee itself you could see some baking that had occurred in side the beans with a darker color transition from the inside out. Lacked a proper roast development. Which made the coffee come off flat with any brew method.

This was my first Mistobox coffee and my goal was to be able to drink it black. I liked it best drunk as an espresso. It tasted smooth and only slightly bitter. I did not like it brewed with the pour over method. I tried different grinds and pour times and could not get the bitterness out of it. Characteristics that came to mind when experiencing this coffe on my novice palate were sour, grass, straw, ash, bitter, smooth.

We use a Silvano Evo espresso maker and this gave us a near perfect pour right away. Enjoyed the rich, fully bodied shots with good crema. Paired both well on its own and with alternative milk for latte.

I did not care for this coffee. The flavor and aroma seemed weak, and never tasted its presumed chocolate and nutty taste. I prepared it a French press, with a tablespoon of course ground for each 3oz of water. I generally prefer arabica coffees because of their stronger flavor, but I find some dark roasts overly acidic

The nutty flavor does come through. But it is almost a spicy nuttiness to me. I have a hard time picking out the chocolate and richness. It's a balancing act to get a fine enough grind to get it rich enough for my taste without getting too fine and plugging the espresso machine charger. I think that for my taste I need something a little richer/bolder.

This was my first ever freshly roasted coffee and I really enjoyed it. It was amazingly smooth and amazingly flavorful. And the next day I was very excited to try it. Since I was waking up to a very busy day. And it was alright but not as good as the day before. But still good. The third day though I brewed the coffee as I normally did and it was not good, almost to the point I didn’t want to drink it. Very bitter and very acidic. I brewed my espresso coffee in my French press for 8 minuets. And I’ve been reducing the amount of time. But it still is not drinkable. Still very acidic and very bitter.

This was my first from MistoBox and first fresh coffee with my new espresso machine. The espresso was awesome. Rich tasting, no bitterness. One of the best I’ve ever had and definitely the #1 best I’ve every made. Rich is a good adjective. Some hints of chocolate and nuts. Just good. The bag ripped right away - the only bummer.

This coffee was almost perfect, not oily and very smooth. I would be willing to try something slightly darker if it is not oily. Oils tend to gum up the grinder on my SAECO coffee machine.

First cup: It took a couple tries to get my grind the way I liked it but once I did the aroma of the espresso did indeed have chocolatey and nutty notes with a richness of 70% dark chocolate and the subtle aroma, to me, of freshly roasted cashews. I ultimately made it a long black but the espresso itself had a vibrant and almost acidic berry taste that hit you in the salivary glands at first. When I added the espresso to the hot water I also added a small amount of half and half and some stevia and the fat from the half and half brought forth the nutty notes and it finished with a dark chocolate bitterness that rounded out the acidity of the berry notes and combined well with the slight nuttiness I got from the original aroma of opening the bag.
All in all quite a pleasurable introduction to this roaster and to MistoBox.

I like this for my new espresso machine! I’m not sure I’d love it as much for cold brew though... this might be a silly question but do certain roasts (or beans) have more caffeine than others? Are there any tips you have for tasting espresso?

We loved it. Good, smooth flavor without being overwhelming, or cloying. Not bitter, and with a great aftertaste. Really enjoyed as a long black.

I had a hard time getting the grind on this and wasted 90% of the bag on trying to get to the right settings. I felt this could've had potential but cant really give it a good rating.

This coffee definitely tastes great, but I didn't like that it was a blend. It had a strong nutty flavor but not so much of a chocolate. I prefer a smooth rich coffee and I didn't get that from this coffee

We liked the subtle bitter chocolate notes. But this was a bit of a darker roast than we prefer. We also generally stick to Single Origins instead of blends.

It's a nice coffee overall, but it felt a little too sweet, and I didn't really like the chocolate notes. I liked its smoothness and the level of roast seems good.

Great chocolate and a well balanced hazelnut flavor. Reminded me of a less sweet nutella in a good way! Right where I think I like it on the roast spectrum!

I liked it....consistent bean size and roast, not THAT much chocolate (which is GOOD). I really got a nice whiff of peanut butter after letting the coffee sit for a few days. I usually go @ six days after roast to let the beans de-gas.

I enjoyed the coffee very much. I definitely picked up on the chocolate notes. I’m fairly new to espresso at home and am open to trying wide range of different types of roasts and blends to figure out what I like. I’m not really sure what my preferences are yet. Thanks!

A solid blend with medium-heavy body and balanced flavors throughout. Bakers chocolate sweetness is certainly noticeable. Good coffee overall, but lacks exciting tasting notes in the acidity. Nothing especially special or surprising in the tasting notes.

It's good, but I think maybe a little too sour/tart overall for my taste. A little milk helps balance it out, but on it's own I think the Fast Track has a little too much of the semi-sweet chocolate. Perhaps my Aeropress process just does not mesh well with this coffee.
For the record, I grind about 30g of the beans as fine as I can and add them to my Aeropress. I pour in about 100g of water at 195 degrees and stir for 15 seconds, then plunge to extract the espresso.

Nice crema and earthy smell. Tartness (which I tend to like) overtakes the chocolate and nutty flavors, but they are still there. On the richer, fuller side but am looking for more.

Excellent blend. Good example of a dense medium roast. Notes of chocolate, maple syrup and nuttiness delivered very smoothly. Found it to be a little bit lacking in punch as an espresso but really shines as an aeropress.

This was a great coffee. The roast is nice. I would be open to a roast that is a little darker next time as well, just to mix it up (not oily dark, though). I like the chocolate and nutty flavors. I appreciate that it is not bitter, or floral. Good pick!

Brewed as espresso, the shot presents with strong toasted sugars and chocolate flavors. Shot pours with a lot of crema. Would do again though prefer a bit less in the sugar/caramel notes.

Very good! Tried it in a moka pot, french press, and chemex. I love the flavor profile and really enjoy it. I do feel like it turns bitter rather quickly each sip--there's a bunch of great nuttiness up front, but it quickly dissipates. A version of this with a little less edge and a more full-bodied sip would be 5 stars for me.

Haven't been able to find the sweet spot with this roast. It is very light with very subtle flavors. Semi-sweet is a good descriptor as it is dry with slight sweetness. Each cup so far has left me wanting for something a little more exciting.

This coffee is fantastic. Lots of nutty, rich flavor. Smells wonderful when brewed.
It is tougher to make espresso with, as the ground seems very sensitive to grind size changes and tamping pressure changes, can make a large variation in pressure on the machine. May be better to try one that is more suited for espresso.

Love this blend for a wide array of espresso based drinks. Makes for a perfect espresso. The flavors aren't too overpowering allowing you to add flavors of your own, if you prefer.
