The House Blend was carefully roasted for you by Metric Coffee Co. For most coffee drinkers, a House Blend is an introduction to a roaster's style of coffee. This is a perfect introduction to Metric's roast philosophy of clean, balanced and sweet coffees. Sourced from Brazil, Colombia, and Guatemala, this coffee is full bodied and rich with caramel sweetness, supported by notes of soft citrus and baking spices.
The coffee was good, and had a good aroma, but seemed a little on the weaker side.
I have had a chance to have some cups of this second coffee. While I do like it better than the first coffee, it still wasn't quite what I like. While it's ok coffee, I didn't get that "damn this is good coffee" reaction.
This coffee, while less bitter than the last, doesn't seem to have much of a flavor profile at all. The coffee seems very "thin." I would like something with a little more flavor, but not smoky or bitter flavor.
Traditional house taste with a hint of ash. Better on rich brew setting.
I really like this one! It has some of the great qualities of the last coffee, but has a little more kick.
The chocolate flavor really jumped out at me, sans any cream or sugar this almost tasted like a specialty brew. Very pleasant cup of coffee going down.
This coffee has been my favorite so far. Would be a 5 star if it had a slightly bolder flavor. But that's the equivalent of the cherries on top of a very delicious sundae. I like the semi-sweet finish on the back end and the velvety mouthfeel of this one.
Very good. Lots of flavor and balanced.
Possibly my wife's favorite of the two so far. Doesn't seem as rich to me, but good balanced flavor, easy drinking. Better when hot.
I loved this! It was the perfect amount of sweetness and body! Not too strong either!
Has a bitter taste, that almost tastes like it’s burnt right at the front end. Goes down ok though. Maybe the chocolate gives an odd taste. Hell if I know, I’m a novice. And then I turn around and add sweet cream anyway. But something about it’s initial taste it’s poignant, like my wife’s Keurig coffee. Maybe thats just because “bold” coffee tastes like that.
Again - I’m novice. Take it for what it’s worth. This could be great coffee, it’s just not my cup of tea.
Not bad, maybe a bit light.
I now use a chemex. While the aroma from this batch was more preferable, i felt the flavor was much weaker.
Surprisingly strong - great pic here.
Good coffee, but I don't love it. Can't really taste the caramel. Also, I don't really understand what "full bodied" means yet. :)
well balanced, nutty, works well with aeropress method we use. would still like something that has a more unique flavor, that stands out beyond being a good quality standard coffee.
Balanced, good body, hints of caramel. Great coffee.
Good, but less flavorful than the first. Fewer layers and complexity. More of a 3.5 star than 3. Still very nice. I would repurchase the Good Folks before the Metric.
I felt this was on the light side of full-bodied, but still enjoyable. I didn't taste the citrus, but the lighter bodied reminded me of citris drinks. The caramel and baking spice notes shown through and made for a sweeter cup of coffee than what I'm used to. It was well-balanced, but the taste itself wasn't anything special. It neither excited it disgusted. If I understand house blends correctly, that's by design, but I look forward to a less safe coffee and something with more personality.
Initial thought, not as good as the prior shipments, just ok.
My wife loved the blend. It was actually a nice change from what we were buying.
I'm still thinking it's the "full bodied" that I'm not quite in love with, but I'm still not sure. That seems to be the common factor between this one and the one last month.
Best morning blend ever
Very good, wouldn't mind getting this again
We really liked this one.
It was ok for me. It was smooth but I didn't pick up lots of flavor. I think I like coffee to be more bitter.
Much better than the first patch
My favorite coffee so far.
Decent. Some good notes.
This coffee has been great! It has a great balance with almond and caramel notes and lots of sweetness coming through.
Nice blend. Lighter bodied. Citrus overtones.
A little bland for my taste. The "caramel" notes come through as just sour. Maybe its that the "chocolate" or "full-bodied" are just under represented, so this one left me wanting more of something.
Very good roast. Again almost a 5 but not quite. Would drink again.
Sent the previous one before I finished with the notes. I enjoyed this shipment more than the previous beans. Very smooth and mild.
Delicious coffee! Smooth and balanced. Would definitely get again! Also, I loved the packaging. Very ingenious!
This coffee tasted bitter and sour, not nearly as good as the first bag we received.
This coffee is in the lighter side of medium, imparting its notes chocolate and caramel with an additional, very pleasant cherry note.
I waited too long to rate this! I had visitors who brought coff its them, and now I’m a bit confused.
Would prefer something a little bit bolder
Loved the full body flavor. Bloomed up in the French press immaculately!
Overall I liked this coffee, but I'm starting to think I'll be happier with somewhat darker roasts. This one is very easy drinking, and I definitely get the fruit notes and sweetness. It has a finish that I can't identify and I'm not crazy about, but overall a good coffee.
I guess ... somewhere in between the first two choices, will produce a stronger coffee aroma, which will transform into a richer smoother, coffee taste.
Wife and I both enjoyed this coffee. She enjoyed it slightly more than the previous one, Day Tripper. The bag lists "Cherry" as one of the tasting notes and that's mainly what I tasted.
Taste is alright. It doesn't seem to have much caffeine.
Enjoyed this blend.
Kind of sour.
Great cup of coffee. Balanced, citrusey and baking spice notes easy to find.
Pretty good, but neither as clean as I like in a session coffee nor as complex as I like in a dessert or aperitif coffee. Makes for a good breakfast coffee, but there isn't quite enough acidity to stand up to heavier foods.
Good, but fairly generic. Not as strong flavored or satisfying as what we usually drink.
Seemed a bit plain/single flavor.
Enjoyed this very much! One of my favorites coffees from Metric is their Stanley's blend
I really enjoyed this coffee! Not quite as much as the one before though. This coffee was much more mellow in the French Press and even more relaxed in the Chemex than the Day Tripper Blend. As a matter of fact, the Day Tripper Blend will be my new standard for coffee profile until you find me something even better! You guys do an awesome job, and I love the coffee you get for me.
Very much the chocolate flavor but would not consider it full bodied. Really had what I would describe as a "weak" coffee flavor. I would like stronger coffee flavor. This reminded me of the type of bottomless coffee served in a diner, not bad but not a lot of flavor. I tried adding more beans but to no avail.
It was a little weak for me.
OK. Coffee tastes somewhat burnt to me.
Thought it was OK
Had a really sharp finish. Wasn't super flavorful
Better than the last however i think we need to switch to a dark roast, my wife is only happy if they are super strong.
We liked this better than the first coffee we had (Brazilian Black Diamond). It was a little light on the roast though. The flavors overall were balanced and enjoyable!
I liked the rich bold flavor this has. I'm a fan of Metric coffee. I had their Endless Light custom blend a couple years ago when they did a collaboration with one of my favorite bands O'Brother.
I liked this coffee a little better but would still like a little but more fruity or other interesting notes.
I liked this one better than the first one you sent. It's still a little bitter and could be smoother.
Subtle but really delicious.
Easy drinker. I pick up caramel and small cherry notes. Not huge fan of fruit flavors but this was subtle enough. The chocolate flavor is that of dark chocolate.
Delecious! Lots of unique flavor. Can taste the chocolate with a smoky flavor that remains on your palate. One of our favorites so far.
We really liked this blend. To be honest, it's probably a little unfair that I'm rating this at the same time as the Klatch Columbian - we might have given this 5 stars if we hadn't had Klatch right after. The only negative mark vs the Klatch is that the blend didn't a strong enough single character to make it stand out. So really great coffee, but slliiiigghtttlllyy less enjoyable relative to the Klatch.
My husband and I enjoyed it, but it skewed a little too sweet for us. We like notes of chocolate but the predominant characteristic was "sweet." Also, the bag doesn't highlight "caramel;" it actually mentions "cherry" which makes more sense to what we tasted.
*Updated on 1/15/18: we liked our most recent coffee more than this so I downgraded this*
Smooth but a little pale flavor-wise. Very crisp . Subsequent brews were sour, but that was cured by reducing the grind size to extract a little more. The simple flavor made it fun to play with grind size/steep times to find the best flavor.
Very smooth, but not very complex. Balance of acidity is perfect. Straightforward bodied taste into a slight cherry after tone. Beans are fresh, but the blended taste could be a little more interesting.
I wish I could give it 6 stars. Above and beyond great coffee. I loved it so much, I started following Metric on Instagram. I speak very highly to everyone about Metric.
A nice balance between fruit and chocolate flavors and a nice sweet finish.
Tasty, and smells wonderful. I liked htis.
This was much better! Flavor was more subtle, clean and soft but it smelled amazing and the art on the bag was neat.
Great coffee. A little bolder than we normally drink but not unpleasant or overpowering. Would really be 4.5 stars, but didn't see it as that "holy cow" that a 5 star coffee would be. Thoroughly enjoyed, and would get it again in the future. Brewed in clever dripper, and pour over.
Excellent. Slightly fruity but not overwhelming, chocolate flavor is obvious but does not take over the cup. Coffee is smooth and enjoyable. I like it about the same as the Day Tripper. Roast level is better than Day Tripper, as is the smell. I enjoyed the light chocolate flavor, and the cherry was surprisingly evident but did not disgust me as it sometimes does in other beverages.
Pete & Eydie
Tasted okay - was much better as an espresso shot. I wondered with this batch if it was old - roasted too long ago and the key flavors had dissipated.
Great flavor and really smooth. I found roast level to be great as well. I liked the sweetness and citrus notes. Loved the coffee and I would buy it again.
Great coffee! Very smooth and balanced, a perfect medium roast. I usually prefer darker roasts, but the complexity of flavors won me over on this one. Slightly acidic, smooth, and with a touch of sweetness with the cherries. Highly recommend!
This blend was very tasty, and I really loved the packaging design. If I had to pick, I think I would still prefer the last blend; although it was very close. If I'm remembering correctly, the last blend tasted fuller and toastier while this blend was crisper and more sour. I think I would like this blend more if it felt richer to the taste. I liked the roast levels of both.
Decent sweet/fruit flavor but not a strong enough body to hold them up for long. Overall, a decent, non-offensive roast.
excellent coffee. enjoyed this very much
This is an excellent blend. Smooth but rich.
I think this coffee was a little bland compared to what we are used to drinking. We tend not to gravitate to House blends as we prefer a little more bold and complex flavor profile. This holds especially true with the first cup of coffee of the day. With that being said the coffee was easy to drink and would make a great second cup for the day.
Jessica and Justin
This one smelled great but the flavor was a little strong. It didn't have a crisp, light after taste. We preferred our first bag to this one.
I didn't get any citrus, but the Chocolate and caramel notes were very present. Great flavor hot through cooling. I really enjoyed this one.
This one is my least favorite so far. It is less rich tasting, and has more acidity than I like. It’s not bad, but not my favorite.
Eh, it was OK. I would not call it either rich or full-bodied, and more caramel than chocolate. It had a slight sour aftertaste with both pour-over and aeropress that I could not get rid of. Espresso (ristretto doubles) was fine.
More rounded taste than the first coffee. I enjoyed this one a little more.
Would prefer a darker roast.
My husband and I both loved this one! Perfect balance of flavorful but not too bitter!
We love this coffee for it's rich taste. We don't mind trying a coffee blend slightly darker n more oily than the house blend. But we definitely like the richness of coffee and don't prefer sourness in coffee.
Linda and Neil
Enjoyed this more than the first....prefer to try one without chocolate flavor next....
We liked this one a bit less than the first. It felt a little flat, perhaps not acidy enough. Liked the caramel in it, but couldn't really taste the chocolate. Loved the packaging!
Very full and satisfying taste. Almost feels like it should be darker, but overall a great blend
The description of this coffee is accurate with one exception. I would not consider this a full bodied coffee as it feels lighter...medium bodied at best. The sweetness is there for sure as is the caramel/milk chocolate/toffee notes. A little too sweet for my tastes as I like my coffee with a tsp of sugar and milk.
A bit bland, I didn't find it full bodied at all. It's good tasting coffee but otherwise forgettable. I would have preferred something richer with more depth.
This house blend from Metric coffee is wonderful! I have really enjoyed how smooth this cup is and the flavors go so well together. I was a little worried when it said it had a hint of cherries but was very surprised how great it tasted! One other thing I was really impressed with was how Metric coffee gave you a resealable bag. I have not seen that before and wish everyone would do that. Samantha has done such a great job picking my first two bags of coffee. I am loving MIstobox!
I really enjoyed this one!!!
A solid cup, with initial cherry notes and a sweet chocolate finish. Good for everyday drinking, but would be more exciting with some more complexity (fruity/floral notes or a tad more acidity).
Very good flavor and not bitter!
Not our favorite. Almost too full bodied to really taste the tasting notes.
A very smooth blend!
Nice coffee. The flavor was a little more robust on this one compared to the first shipment, which was nice. The sweetness on the back end is really tasty. The spice came out more to me than citrus. Something darker next time would be nice.
Milder flavor than I expected.
A bit of a light coffee...is flavourful but not as much body as other light roasts
This coffee was full bodied - liked it better than the first shipment. Really liked the deep chocolate notes. Super smooth and clean. More like this please!
nice smooth coffee - seems a little low on caffeine tho
I enjoyed the first coffee more than this one.
This coffee was our least favorite so far. The flavor to us was flat, not well rounded.
This coffee was our least favorite so far. The flavor to us was flat, not well rounded.
Definitely "clean and balanced." Thoroughly enjoyed this blend.
its quite good.
My husband and I both liked the earthy taste of this coffee. I know it doesn't have any bearing on the beans inside, but the packaging was super cute too.
I like it a lot! it's a really well done coffee, and is incredibly smooth and balanced.
The chocolate smell when I ground this was incredible. I brewed in the kalita wave. Smooth, definite chocolate flavor but not overpowering, nice body, low acidity and really interesting. I'm really enjoying this! Delicious. Also love that it's local (I live in Chicago but hadn't tried Metric yet).
Actually prefer the first over this second selection. To really taste a coffee I like to sip it at room temp. This second selection left me with a slight bitter taste and was not a sweet and flavorful as the first.
Was kind of basic! No unique flavor notes! Still a solid coffee.
It's on the lighter roast scale of where I enjoy my coffee, but it has a full body and it's not too sweet. I worry when coffees use cherry and Carmel as discriptors, but this one is more complex than some of the overly fruity and sharper flavored medium roastes out there. A solid medium roast coffee that won't alienate a palate that likes darker roasts.
Moderate strength flavor with a round aftertaste of chocolate and cherries. This is not for everyone but if you like cherries which I do it is a hit.
This blend has been our favorite so far! We like dark roast coffees and this one is a bit lighter but the taste does not disappoint. Full-bodied with a hint of chocolate!
I liked the house blend, but I liked the day tripper better blend better. I think the day tripper blend had more of a carmel flavor to it and I think I like that. Over all I prefer the day tripper over the house blend.
Made using Chemex brew method, 28 grams of coffee and 360 grams of water. Not much flavor hence the Meh review.
Sorry, did not care of chocolate-cherry flavor
I thought Metric Coffee's house blend was ok. The beans were a light brown, but the coffee tasted a little burnt at the end of each sip. Compared to the coffee I received in the last shipment and think they are relatively equal.
Metric Coffee make a great first introduction with their House Blend. Balanced, juicy, and, somehow, smooth. The folks at Metric meticulously craft a house blend that is pleasant at any time of the day.
A few things help place this coffee above average. First, I was pleasantly surprised to open the subscription box and find a sticker alongside my coffee (Stickers never hurt). Second, this coffee aged well. It's flavor shifted as it got older. It started off with strong cherry notes with an earthy finish. Ten days after the roast date and the flavor profile was more in line with the tasting notes. In short, we liked this coffee and never seemed to get tired of it. I look forward to more from Metric.
really nice sweet chocolate flavor. brewed with v60 tip pour slower than normal for better flavor IMHO
This works well as a pour-over and it is a predictably good cup.. Have also used on the stovetop and it pulls into a much more acidic shot than expected but it is definitely a solid shot as well.
This was great for cold brew, which is what I'm looking for.
Loved this blend, rich, def full bodied, delicious, my favorite to date.
Of all of the coffee I have had so far, this Metric house blend has been the most balanced. It wasn't to earthy which was what I was afraid of. It was a nice sweet coffee without being to fruity. It gets a five not because it was my favorite flavor, but it was good, while having the best branding I've seen so far and the sealable package. Everyone should be doing that!
Bland, boring, and a little on the bitter side. Definitely not the magic I was hoping for but drink-able I suppose.
Didn't find it quite as rich as the description indicated. Was good but a little "flat."
We enjoyed the House Blend, it was rich and sweet and full of flavor.
Not a lot of flavor
I lile it being full bodied.
I am not a fan of this blend. Chocolate with cherry hints are lost on me. Give me a full robust coffee and I'm happy!
While a good coffee, it did not quite have the great flavor the first coffee had.
Quite good. Totally got into this one. Nice sweet richness up front with a clean savory finish.
Delicious in a french press this morning. I don't usually buy these kind of flavor profiles, but I might start doing so. Also, I appreciated the new roaster. I'll have to keep an eye out for their other products!
Really nice find. I liked the slight fruit in this.
Really liked this one
I am very satisfied with both the flavor and the "lightness" of the coffee. It is distinct, but never overbearing. As a bonus, I really like the bag, too; it's gorgeous. I would be interested in other coffees from this roaster for sure.
Loved it! Such great flavor on my chemex. Not as good on the v60 but still a great coffee.
I actually loved this. Was delicious.
I did not like this one as much as my previous coffee. I brewed a couple different ways (pour over w/ Kalita and also french press), but both came out tasting sour. It was surprising the french press was sour because usually it makes a smooth, well-rounded cup. I did not notice any caramel/chocolate taste notes mentioned in the description. Instead it had a basic bold coffee flavor that was too sour for my preference.
Like the sweetness and brightness on this one. Spicy in a good way.
Mine was "chocolate, cherry, and sweet." This is some of the best coffee I've ever had. Perfectly roasted, not burnt at all, exactly the flavor I was looking for. I could drink this the rest of my life!!
Perfect amount of roastyness but still full bodied. Love the notes of caramel chocolate and cherry hints. A winner for sure. Great way to open your eyes.
Think I want to try more Full Bodied coffee
This seems safe but still has those notes of chocolate I love. I agree with others that it's not very memorable. Metric's House Blend is very good but tasted light, not very bold.
OK but too sweet - I prefer a stronger coffee flavor
Not bad, needs a little more character.
It's OK. There's a tart aftertaste and that's pretty much all I can taste after the first sip (and for a long while after I've had the cup). I'm pretty sure I've had this blend in the past and I don't recall this problem, so maybe it's a less-than-stellar batch??
UPDATE: The more I drink this coffee, the less I like it. The aftertaste is very offputting. It's terrible in a Chemex and barely passable via immersion and pourover.
We felt like it was a solid good coffee choice. Well balanced, maybe didn't knock our socks off, but would drink it any day. Thanks for the find!
Not very flavorful, not awful I just like coffees with a little more flavor in the cup.
Great coffee. Mellow and flavorful. I am enjoying every cup.
The flavor felt less pronounced even after experimenting with bean quantity, grind, and cold brewing. Less memorable to me.
Enjoyed the rich flavors.
Definitely has a strong cherry note more than I prefer but still full bodied which I enjoy. I don't hate it, but I will say I prefer the batch I got last month.
Great coffee, had a good bold flavor without the heavy bitterness of other coffees.
Thought this coffee was good. I think I liked the previous roast a little better. I think maybe I like a little less of the sweet/chocolately notes but still enjoyed this blend.
Very well balanced, and smooth mouth feel.
Love the blend and balance of this coffee.
Subtle chocolate flavor, very balanced.
This is the best coffe I've had so far.
Initially tasted sour, lowered the brewing temperature for the espresso, and it was better, the sour was gone but still tasted a little bitter. Did not taste much at all like the description to me.
This coffee has a great strong flavor that was reminicent of chocolate with a bit of sweetness. We really enjoyed using it for our morning espresso as a great way to wake up.
We loved this coffee. The chocolate and cherry notes we balanced and delicious.
I like this coffee slightly better than the Good Folks Day Tripper Blend; however, I'm still getting the sour/acidic aftertaste which I do not prefer. What I do like is Colombian coffee.
Betty and Larry
This coffee is weak tasting, even after I used more scoops than usual.
A well balanced cup but seems a bit thin.
Really good. Right down the middle and what you'd expect of a house blend.
Really enjoyed the balance both in a medium grind with Aeropress and a fine grind for Espresso
Yum, could be darker?
Love everything about this. Strong and flavorful with great aroma, without being too dark. Would drink every day
Thin coffee, weak taste, not a very good after taste.
Smooth & tasty.
3.7 rating. It was hard to go from the espresso to this blend. It seems very light and I would like a darker blend. Still an overall good tasting coffee.
A little too sweet for my liking.
It's smooth and doesn't have a harsh after taste. The smell doesn't really make me excited to get up in the morning and the taste isn't really what I care for.
Super smooth! Perfect to drink black or with milk - iced or hot! My favorite so far!
Clean, borderline boring. Easy to brink, but somewhat forgettable
Not as full and luxurious as the last shipment, it's more thin and bright. I've brewed it iced every time, but maybe I'll try a little more beans, or going a little less coarse on the grind. I'll come back and update if that changes things. UPDATE: more beans, finer grind just brought out more brightness.
Nice flavor, well balanced.
This coffee was good, but I like to taste the coffee, it was a little weak for me.
Pulled my first shot of this today and it is fantastic.
Good, but not as excellent as our first shipment. Much more mild than the Atomic blend, which we loved.
This was a really good coffee. I can definitely taste the cherry notes.
This has been my favorite pick since signing up. It's full bodied but delicate and robust. Just wonderful overall! And I can't get over the packaging!
This house blend has been enjoyable for me. It has the same smooth taste as other coffees with this similar flavor profile.
Drinkable but I really prefer less sweet, and an even more bold roast flavor.
very smooth - liked all the flavors. I enjoy the caramel flavors in this roast.
Probably the best coffee sent to me so far
Very strong chocolate notes with no bitterness. Very good.
this was good, but not nearly as good as the anodyne tolima. Tasted a little on the dirty side...not as smooth
Terrible Taste. Bland and hope that my next batch is better.
Not bad. Best way for me to describe: It left my mouth feeling a little dry with subtle hints of sour citrus aftertaste.
Decent. I expected a little more flavor.
Very tasty and has light flavors. Not very strong and great way to start my morning
I wasn't a big fan of the caramel notes in this one.
I can't remember the details, but I know I enjoyed it!
A Perfect 'Good Morning' Cup!
Good flavor, but felt like it was lacking a little body.
Nice flavor.. little closer to the robustness I prefer
Did not think I would like this after reading the description but I do. Since I drink it black, it did not taste like I imagined and that was good. I like coffee that tastes like coffee and I imagined that this would not. Think I like the first one better.
this coffee is delicious
This may have been my favorite coffee so far, just ahead of The 1950 Verve. It's clean and light and not bitter/sour at all, with no burnt aftertaste. I'm noticing that my two favorites have "baking spices" in the description. While I still love my coffee with a healthy dose of unsweetened BetterHalf (so good!), I'm finding that between the Chemex and really good beans, I don't need or want all the sweet, sugary creamers or sweeteners I used before. I actually ran out of beans today because I find myself wanting to drink more than one cup in the mornings!
Dark & sharp tasting
Love the subtle spiciness. Might be interested in something stronger in general.
Good coffee. Love the notes of chocolate and it was a good strength for me. Good cold or hot
I felt like I could taste the "citrusy" notes more than the chocolatey notes. While it was full-bodied, it was not as much as the last one, which I enjoyed more. I did drink this without my usual splash of milk though! So that is exciting.
It's smooth with a hint of Carmel
Best coffee mistobox has delivered.
I appreciate the sweetness of this blend. I also like that it has an earthy taste but still other flavors are noticeable. My only issue with this roast is the chocolate hints. This was also something I didn't like in my previous month's coffee. Is there a way to get sweet without chocolate?
I did not like this batch. Funny, felt like it was lite even though it is categorized as full body. I did change my cream up on this round, maybe that was different.
Easy drinking and well rounded. You can't go wrong with this one. It's not acidic. Clean, balanced and sweet describes it perfectly. The flavors are not complex, but that's okay. It's also has nice body w/ good mouth fell. I'm really enjoying it!
Did not think this coffee had a good aroma, whole beans or when being brewed. Did not have as much flavor as the previous bag. Drinkable
Enjoyed the mellowness of this blend a lot--chocolate notes were greatly appreciated without being overwhelming. Was great with cream. It was a very good coffee for me to take to work every morning, easy to sip on without getting boring. Clean and balanced as described. Looking forward to trying this as a cold brew overnight.
Really impressed with this blend. Clean flavors, well rounded.
This coffee is excellent. We never made a bad cup and were disappointed when the bag was empty. The coffee beans smelled fabulous and brewed a nice smooth, chocolatey cup.
Another really good coffee. I give it 4 stars also simply because I want a wider range of coffees to compare it too. I believe the notes are more subtle compared to the Verve "seabright." I will say that my wife prefers the Metric House Blend over Verve Seabright. For me it's up in the air, both are really good.
Tastes great, Chicago is killing the coffee game.
Loved the body and the clean taste. It had a nice rich flavor and no bitterness. Brewed using hario pour-over.
I thought it was very good. Not bitter or sour. Tasted like something a fine restaurant would provide.
Amazing!! Was a hit with the whole family. Probably my favorite so far!
It was pretty good. I loved the smell of the coffee when it first arrived, but the taste didn't quite live up to the initial smell. When I first opened the coffee it smelled a lot like caramel, but the taste wasn't nearly as sweet as the smell. Not bad at all, just an odd difference between the two that was hard to wrap my head around.
Pretty smooth and non acidic! I like the caramel taste/smell! I usually do pour over and make two mason jars of cold brew. Gave it four stars because it wasn't anything special but was very good nonetheless.
not bitter at all, but a full, rich, flavorful sip
I really like this one--the roast wasn't overpowering, and the taste is smooth, balanced, with just enough richness to balance out some of the sweeter, fruitier flavors
Decent cup out of V60, although brewing with a chemex was a bit lacking. Notes of chocolate are forward and heavy, with spices on the finish note.
This roast is delicious! I'm looking forward to this coffee every morning right now. I love the full body without the bitter acidic aftertaste and the subtle sweetness.
easy to drink but not as much flavor depth as the previous bag.
Definitely think we like the subtly sweeter coffee blends. Prefer this one over the last coffee we received. I can't tell if we're diggin' the caramel or not though. Seems stronger in this blend than the last.
Nice big chocolate flavor with creamy mouthfeel from hario
This one was sadly not a hit with the group members, despite it having a similar flavor description as many of our favorites.
I like the sweetness of this coffee, I agree it is a smooth, balanced cup. Not acidic at all.
Smooth and rich. Sweet, nutty flavor - not bitter. Only negative is that the coffee is very drying.
Might still be working on getting the coffee-water ratio correct on this one but finding it a little less enjoyable than the others
Just ok. Sort of flat and bland. Not bitter or sour, but nothing special.
I like the flavor and the aroma of this coffee. It has a nice smooth finish
Didn't even need sugar, a first for me and coffee. Loved the heavy chocolate tones, spot on for me :)
I immediately noticed sweet fruity flavor which I really enjoyed, this coffee was easy to drink, nice balanced cup to start my mornings. I rated this as a 3 star but it really came in just under a 4 star review for me.
A good, simple coffee, but nothing to write home about.
Can definitely taste notes of sweet fruits, raisins.
Not well balanced to my palate. Somewhere between eh and ok.
With Chemex brewing the raisin notes really come through. This is a very good every day coffee.
Although the beans are a little lighter than we typically enjoy. We like this coffee as much as we liked our first shipment. It is not acidic, sour or bitter. Very smooth which is most important.
This was ok, it didn't seem to have flavor I enjoyed. It didn't have a long finish.
I really like the sweetness and flavor of this one
Fragrant but not as bold in flavor as I usually prefer.
Smoothe and very easy to drink. Love the chocolate undertones.
Tastes like caramel. I also taste a hint of orange near the bottom of the shot.
loved the flavor and sweetness. Not acidic at all, very sweet and flavorful.
Makes a spot-on traditional espresso - smooth and sweet and light on fruit.
This coffee is really tasty. I recently switched to a Chemex brew and this coffee is really smooth.
Great overall cup of coffee! I loved the balance of flavors and could not wait to drink it every morning! No complaints.
Good compared to the previous two. Great as a cold brew.
This was good!
Nice flavor would like something a bit more bold
This coffee was just okay. I liked the Kickapoo one more despite the similar flavor profile.
I think I enjoyed this coffee a little less than my previous one. But that doesn't mean I didn't still enjoy it. It was a nice balanced flavor, but a little more burnt/roasty than I would prefer. I tasted the chocolate notes which I really liked, and there was even a little nutty flavor when the coffee was at it's hottest that I liked. Overall, pretty good coffee.
It's good. Maybe too much caramel for me.
Not very rich and bold. It tastes kind of bland to me.
I used my aeropress and it produce coffee nirvana with this blend . It left a lingering subtle sweetness . Amazing coffee
Delicious, smooth, dark but not burnt flavor; perhaps slightly sweet and nutty
Nice acidity balance with the subtle citrus notes.
Didnt care for the chocolate and fruity flavors. I prefer nutty flavors
Not bad, but a little too sweet and soft
well balanced but not particular rich or deep in flavor. Was better in drip than chemex
This coffee is not a rich enough or bold enough for my taste. This coffee is on the sweet side and very light.
Too bland, no flavor
Love this one! Very smooth and lovely taste.
Too light of a roast. Beans smelled good but when brewed it had to much acidity.
I really like the slightly sweet with baking spices. Great brew!
Another nice bean, but tastes like it was under roasted.
Mellow but full flavored. Really well balanced, no acidity at all (brewed with Chemex). Just super nice.
nice aroma and flavor
Too light of a a roast resulting in an acidic flavor
Great flavor but weak and thin
Compared to other blends I have received from MistiBox, this house blend by Metric just falls short. It has a nice smooth taste but is lacking a nice full flavor pallet. I understand house blends are usually crafted to introduce someone to that roaster but I feel that Metric could have done better with this one
Definitely full bodied with a good bit of sweetness when half/half is added, Solid cup.
While we favor light blends, this coffee was to light, not enough flavor.
I really enjoyed the notes of caramel.
A good cup of coffee, though maybe just a bit on the sweet side. Helps me deal with the pain of the alarm clock going off in the morning.
Really really tasty. I almost gave it a 5...but this is the best I have had yet!
Bland and confusing flavor.
I found this a little bland or, maybe, too subtle for me. I did not enjoy it as much as some of the other selections I have had.
Really enjoyed it. Very light, subtle, but still flavorful. I usually enjoy my coffee with cream, but enjoyed drinking this one black, as well.
WOW. I made the mistake of telling lots of coworkers about this one and letting them smell the bag... now I will probably run out of beans earlier than normal! This one is definitely my favorite so far! :)
