Description
The Italian Roast was carefully roasted for you by Klatch Coffee. This full bodied blend is unlike most Italian roasts you are used to. This medium roast will give you a taste of the romantic Italian cafes of Venice, as if you are sitting alongside the canals with a wonderful cup of coffee in your hand. The cup is rich and smooth with notes of roasted nuts.

Not my favorite, a little too dark for me and a little flat flavor wise.

It was surprisingly bad. Bitter, even super dialed in it still had a backdrop of bitterness. I also, strangely found it disappearing in milk drinks. Perhaps to over roasted (or too much robusta?).

I love the mix of flavors in this one, especially considering how dark the roasting is. It really does taste like a good Italian espresso.

Meh. Reminded me of Starbucks' Pike Place blend, which is not a favorite. Maybe it's the nuttiness? I'm not enough of a coffeephile to know the terms. But French roast is my go-to.

Makes a well-balanced cup of cappuccino. Assertive coffee flavor that isn't over roasted or burnt. In a milk drink, it allows other notes to make an appearance, without ever letting you forget "Hey bud, you're having an espresso drink here. This ain't no blueberry pie or Carmello bar like other roasts." This bean knows what it is and does what it's supposed to do.

Great blend of roastiness with a hint of cherry-like tartness on the back end. Just a hint, though.
Had it a second time and it tasted much more bitter than the first, so i'm taking two stars off.

I tend to agree with Sarah's review: pretty good but not great. I have signed up for six and wanted to try several. One issue I have is the "recipe" you give. It calls for a lot more beans than I have been using. I have tried to go part of the way to your suggested strength and I still think it's too much. From what I can tell, your recipe is stronger than most, and the most common recipe is still stronger than I have been using. I will continue to experiment.

This one hit everything. I was a bit worried it was going to be right on the line of too dark for a roast, but this is absolutely gorgeous. Pourover and french press so far have come out excellent. This is going to be a future purchase, I am certain.

It's ok. despite being and Italian roast, it tastes like a medium roast. It's quite nutty and toasty tasting but I like something with a bit more "earthiness" to it.

This is darker than I prefer, but I found it lovely change of pace from the medium style roasts I prefer. This one features pronounced roasted nutty tones with a hint of caramel. The richness reminded me of porter beer.
