Adam
Good for latte. The Chocolate flavor balances well with milk

Ryan
This was good, albeit a little boring. Smooth. Not as dark as I expected. Got small notes of chocolate, toffee, and caramel, without the dark bitter taste of others. Great easy drinking espresso. Nice foam on top. If anything, lacking in a bit stronger taste (wasn't getting the richness here) But really good still. Will definitely enjoy this one.

Rebecca
I felt like I was drinking just warm milk. Maybe this coffee is better for coffee people who drink their coffee black.

Emily
excellent coffee, great as espresso and latte

Rachel
One of my favorites. Smooth, long finish. Great smell - like peanut butter. I didn't realize it was an expresso. We drink it as coffee. (Can't wait to try it with almond milk when off diet). Drinking it black now.

A little light on coffee flavour for milk drinks. Grind size 31 on our Oracle Touch achieves a 10 second extraction which is perfect.
12/29/2020

Samuel
This coffee has a much weaker body compared to others in our collections and has more lemony acidity than we like. It’s ok, but not great for our tastes.
11/18/2020

Stefanie
Didn’t like it. Tasted like old coffee

Campion
Very strong, excellent morning cup.

Mary
This makes a perfect at-home expresso drink! I love it!
4/27/2020

Matt
Bland, unexciting. Really lacked depth or anything notable. If I let it steep a really long time it was okay. Maybe aero press isn’t the best way to brew
4/14/2020

Kali
Very good flavor, love the nuttiness and just the right amount of acidity (not much :)). I don't drink espressos hardly at all with milk, so it being 'specially prepared for enjoying with milk' didn't resonate with me, so that's my main reason for voting 4 stars vs. 5.

Samuel
I LOVE this one. It's bold and the chocolate is pronounced, but the nutty undertones back it up nicely. I also taste very subtle earthy/vegetable notes which I like a lot!

Rachael
Liked this blend, nice and smooth
6/11/2018

Dana
The chocolate and nutty notes are at the forefront of this brew, though, not overwhelming as in most cases. subtle and enjoyable.

marcus
Very light and fluffy coffee, made it difficult to dial in for espresso. Came out sour no matter what I did, ended up making it in the french press. Very delicious in the press with the chocolate and caramel really coming through.

Clint
Loved this coffee as a 'base' espresso. Also felt it would be a great beginner espresso as no matter the recipe you can't seem to mess this one up to much. Not a 5 star as I felt it could have been blended with a natural Ethiopian or floral forward Central American to add more acidity or sweetness to the shot. Hope this helps :)
7/8/2017

CK
I like it because it's not too strong.
7/4/2017

Elizabeth
Not too acidic. Would have liked a stronger chocolate taste. Good overall. Drinkable. Halfway sippable. A nice appetizer.
7/1/2017

DUSTIN
Very good. Liked that it wasn't to acidic.
6/19/2017

Dipika
I liked the coffee, it was very smooth, not too acidic. Like the flavor!!
6/12/2017

Rebecca
Love the variances in the taste profile of this coffee - it offers a great round cup. I am preparing this in a French press.
6/10/2017

Andy
Great aroma and flavor
6/2/2017

Michael
The description sounds EXACTLY like what I would want, since chocolate, carmel and nutty sounds yummy to me, and I do only make/drink lattes. Overall I'd say I was a little underwhelmed. It's good, not great I guess. For my next coffee I think I'm looking for something more punchy and exciting.
4/10/2017

Stephen
Too light. Not enough flavor. Probably like light to medium better
4/8/2017

Kate
Excellent espresso! Loved the flavor, it didn't hide in the milk of a latte, it definitely "punched through."
3/23/2017

Dusty
This coffee seemed simple and bland. I didn't like it.
3/22/2017

Donald
Delicate little roast. Mistakes in pulling shots are noticible. A bit to light for me, but once I got in the range the nutty profile showed itself when I wasn't even paying attention. Light, more like milk chocolate, rather than dark. Would have liked a more deeper chocolate flavor.
3/17/2017

Erica
Enjoyed the first coffee selected.

marc
The coffee is very good but for my next shipments, I have upgraded my preferences from deluxe to exclusive and from medium roast to light roast.
I am looking for lighter colored coffees packed with delicious flavor that aren't bitter (so I can drink without adding brown sugar) since I am trying to wean myself off sugar in my coffee.
2/14/2017

Giri
I like it generally, but two downsides for me have been a) a little weak on the flavor and aroma b) it tastes a little more sour than i was hoping. not bitter - sour
12/16/2016

Michael
Beautifully complex; shines nicely through the milk of a latte. The smell is outstanding.
12/13/2016

Ryan
Nice flavor with hot milk latte as suggested. Nice nutty chocolate notes. Works well with ice cold dark chocolate almond milk. Straight shot didn't do much for me, better with milk. Brewed with Barista Express BES870XL, grind size: 6, grind amount: -1

Matthew
This just trumped our previously favorite espresso. The flavor is so smooth and full it almost has a nitro quality to it. The taste was so clean I preferred it without sweetner. Held its qualities as both hot and iced latte. Great first impression w misto box.
10/27/2016

Zian
I can definitely taste the "punch" of these beans even under the potentially overpowering steamed milk. Pretty good-tasting shots by themselves, too.
10/11/2016

Michelle
Good tasting but I felt like the end product was very thin which made my latte taste less creamy. I also noticed after brewed the espresso was more clear than the typical espresso brands I use.

micheala
I really enjoyed the flavor, super tasty! It just felt a little weak to me .. I brewed it pretty strong but it doest have the kick I sometimes want. Over all though I loved the taste. Its one I definitely still want on my shelf but I just might need something else for the am fog.

With A Name Like Nerve Tonic You Think It Would Pack A Punch But This Coffee Did None Of That It Fell Flat I Love Strong Bold Coffee Espresso And This Was Just Like Brown Water Was Super Bummed The Packaging Was Cool

Tom
Outstanding for espresso

Richard
I'm still dialing in the grind settings on my new grinder. As an espresso shot it's good, but this coffee is a little weaker in coffee flavor than I'd prefer when used in a latte/cappuccino. As mentioned above, this might be due to my grind settings, so I'll review again if it gets better.

Update: I've dialed in the grind, and feel that this coffee is a bit underwhelming. It's hard to get the flavor when adding steamed milk to a single shot. I also feel like I need more coffee than normal to get a decent crema. I don't have this issue with other beans. Overall, it's an ok roast if a little weak for my tastes.
6/13/2016

Maren
Not as bold and strong as one would expect as reading the bag description. It is recommended that you pair with milk, however, I did not feel that the espresso punched through.
5/27/2016

Adam
Tastes as smooth as it smells. Not too heavy of a mouthfeel and has a pleasant lingering taste.
5/14/2016

Chris
I liked this coffee quite a bit. It produced a tasty, balanced cold brew, and true to it's claim, paired well with a little bit of milk. I enjoyed the chocolatey flavors, but didn't notice the citrus notes... that's likely due to my beginner's coffee palate, though.
4/11/2016

Jason
Nice sturdy strength, nutty, earthy, almost peanut butter-y.
4/2/2016

Lexie
I would love to try this with an espresso machine, but all I have is my aeropress. Tried it with evaporated milk, almond milk, and an almond/coconut blend.

eric
Outstanding coffee!! Great body without being overbearing, a deep nutty rich taste with a great smooth finish. I have had it black and with milk, prepared with a french press and chemex. All have been an exceptional cup of coffee with substance and body.

Lincoln
Very good in Iced Vanilla Latte - especially the first sip!

Ian
18g @ 201 F, 30 seconds. 35g yield. Surprisingly balanced and mild. For a coffee that bills itself as "punching through" Nerve Tonic is not harsh, bitter, or overly bold. I was expecting roasty, dark chocolate flavors with stone fruits but instead got a pleasant balance between milk chocolate and citrus. Neither flavor dominates. This was very easy to enjoy, even without milk.
1/13/2016

Rachel
This one was nice. It is a good starter one, and a good one to use with flavoured additives for the holidays.
1/12/2016

Andrew
I enjoyed this espresso! Not the best but a solid coffee. I wish I had an espresso machine to truly get the best flavor out of it but still tasted great out of my french press. Great espresso for the price from a company I enjoy and has good quality!
12/1/2015

Josh
Delicious!! The taste of the espresso really punches through in a latte. Very nice. These have been some of the most flavorful lattes I have ever made using this blend.
